Official "Dinner's On Me, Smartass" Update Thread
CodeMonkey replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been lucky so far but I won't be winning. I just looked at my koolaid drenched end of the season picks -
What you have to remember is no matter how much the Bills have sucked this season, Gailey and Nix are telling themselves that they are only 2 games out of first in the AFC East. They aren't going to blow it up by firing WannaBe or throwing in a wildcard like T-Jax (particularly after the last game, points were scored by the Bills). In their minds they are still in the thick of it. If the Bills drop the next 3 that may all change, but for now I'm sure they are not in the blow it up mindset at all.

Not sure how anyone in their right mind puts that loss on Fitz. Lord knows he is not a good QB, but the offense put up 27 points which with what special teams contributed should be enough against a bad team like Tenn. If you want to put specific blame, start here. Gailey, and WannaBe. I am giving Nix the benefit of the doubt that he is beating the bushes behind the scenes trying to find competent replacements.

You sir are the single, unwavering constant in this sea of Bills madness

Wow, just wow. -
Is there a good way to tell? Looking at ticketmaster gives you a rough idea, but is there any way of finding a count of how many are left for any particular game?

Here's my Houston game prediction, and it's spot on.

Now this is a girl after my own heart -
You have more imagination than I do

I agree with numbers 1 and 5, and 3 has potential. But #2, remember that the Titans have a defense almost as bad as the Bills. And mainly Fitz was throwing screens etc. Almost hard to look bad under those circumstances, though he managed to do just that at the end. And #4, on paper i agree, but it has been 7 games now and no signs of life. Color me dubious. i appreciate your looking for scenarios for playoffs. But I cannot even imagine a scenario where the Bills go to Texas and come out with a W. In fact this game has the potential for making the SF game a happy memory. The Pats* are at least a possibility. Though they beat the Bills soundly 6 weeks prior in Buffalo and are in a fight for the AFC East. A W is possible here but not a good bet by any means. You might want to get a head start of your positives scenarios for 3-6 But honestly, unless Wanny has an epiphany and suddenly finds an answer for this defense, even if they somehow manage a split I don't see playoffs this season.

He really didn't. It was just in here and maybe BS spewed by OBD. He sucked as a HC which means he cannot game plan which has shown to be true as a DC as well. Thinking WannaStache is a good DC is only due to Billieving and really REALLY wanting it to be true..

I wish people would stop saying this. Cowher has a cushy network gig where he shows up for Sundays and probably involves minimal effort during the week. And I suspect he gets paid extremely well to do it. No headaches, no draft, no offseason activity, basically no bull **** at all. What makes anyone think he would give that up to move to Buffalo !@#$ing NY into a mess of a franchise that has a career backup signed to a long term contract as the starting QB and has no clue what will happen when the current owner passes (which could be at any time)? Not going to happen, pure and simple. And please don't give me the "throw enough money at him and he will come". He would have to be completely brain damaged to come to Buffalo given his current circumstances. The main reason why Gailey is the HC now is because he would take the job. Things are worse now than when Gailey was hired, so it will be even harder (if not impossible) to get someone better than Gailey to agree to take the job. It would probably have to be some hungry OC or DC. No way someone established like a Cowher.
-
But you do not draft a DC. Nix has to do something there. No matter what happens on the defensive side of the ball, the fact remains that a QB is the biggest need on offense.

i can beat that ... my oldest kid is 14 so none of my kids have not only never witnessed a good Bills team, they have only known Bills teams that suck ass for their entire lives. They are hanging in there, and the oldest was still going to wear his Bills jersey today to school as always on the days before and after a game. But they were all pretty disillusioned yesterday.

Utter bull ****.

Could the Raiders Get Jairus Byrd from Bills?

VY ... oh wait -
Jackson has to be activated and start the next game

I agree. Fitz is A problem, but he is not THE problem. Forget about replacing Fitz at least for now. Something major needs to happen on the defensive side of the ball. The Bills have far too much money tied up in the defense to have it be the worst in the NFL. -
I think he has shanked more than he has hit clean this season.
