Not for very long. A bills 3 and out followed by a Texans TD. Houston slept walked (is that the correct past tense for sleep walk??) through the first half.

As it was last time, it is stupid to fire coaches unless you have a better one waiting in the wings and who has agreed to take the job. If you do not do it that way and you fire first and hire later, like the Bills did last time, you end up with Chan Gailey and a worse record than the guys you fired.

Actually Gailey is still aspiring to 7-9. How do you feel now

One reason for this could be that Gailey likes to run Spiller out of the 5 wide set because defenses swap out a LB for a DB in that case and Spiller has a lot more room (one of the reasons for his high YPC). Wade left the LB in and put man coverage on everyone and forcing the Bills to beat them in the air.. Basically Wade called Gaileys bluff. Gailey figured he could not run Spiller effectively with the LB still in, so he went pass happy. Game, set, match, Wade. The big picture question is, do other defenses start doing this the rest of the season as well.

No offense, but no how no way do you pin this loss on Fitz. He had one of his fairly rare "on" games. He put the ball where it needed to be despite getting hit nearly every time he threw it. This loss sits squarely on the shoulders of one Chan Gailey with a continued (dis)honorable mention to Wanny.

Not often I agree with him completely. But hard to argue this time.

The thing is, he doesn't have to justify anything to the Bills fan base. Just to Mr. Brandon and Mr. Wilson.

I watched Gaileys post game presser and the part I found interesting was when he said that the Texans did something that he did not expect, and he could not adapt to. When the Bills go into their 5 wide thing generally defenses replace one LB with a DB. This makes it easier for the run game to be successful and has helped Spiller in particular rip off some good gains. But the Texans kept the LB in. In Gaileys words, they did not respect our ability to throw the ball. This is why he said he had to pass instead of run, or even pass short effectively, from that formation. I don't think much of Gailey as a coach, but I do respect the fact that when he !@#$s up, he admits it freely. I just wish he wouldn't !@#$ up so much.

Probably had second thoughts about having Fitz go to the endzone with the D aware that's what was going to happen. Maybe he flashed back to the bad decision late INT the game before.

Hey RedDog, The Senator seems to have hijacked your account! But I do agree that Gailey will be the Bills HC again next season.

Tannehill may not be elite yet. But he at least does have the potential.

Glenn is listed as limited practice yesterday (Thursday) so I guess the jury is still out for him playing Sunday. Pears and Rinehart both did not practice yesterday.

Plus look at his current job. He hangs out at home all week, maybe talking to a few coaches or players on the phone. On weekends he flies to NYC or Chicago or wherever they meet up and sits around talking about the games coming up. Then he sits around watching all the games so he can comment on them all at half and full time. And for all this hard work he makes a reported $3.4 million a year. And you know what he does during the off season? Whatever the heck he wants too! No draft nonsense, planning OTAs or training camps, or worrying about players X or Y or Z drug busts or rape charges. He would have to be an idiot to give that up to start coaching again. I mean, how many people here would kill for that job!

Do I understand this bet right? You are saying that combined, the pats* and the Texans will punt more than 4 times? Boy I sure hope you win. If the Bills opponents punt less than 4 times in 2 games combined the Bills will be outscored by the national debt. And you should have made it 3.5 or 4.5 to avoid the case you have now if the total is exactly 4

Don't be so easily impressed by this. My 11 year old daughter who likes Fitz knows he is not a franchise QB.

I strongly disagree. First, how does trusting his D come into play at all in this case with that little time left, 4th and 2 and 1 timeout? The D gets on the field and the game is over, and it was. Pass or run was the choice, the D doesn't even enter into the thought process. Second, no one, and I mean no one in their right mind could possibly blame Gailey if he called for a run on 4th and 2 in that case. They might take exception with which run play, for example if he called a sneak and it didn't work. But trusting Fitz to make a good throw when he only gets one chance at it is not a good bet.

Gailey does trust Fitz to make that throw with the game on the line, that's one of the problems (maybe the biggest one) on offense. Fitz is a game manager at best. Gailey should realize this and not use him like he would P. Manning.or Marcia.
