  1. Easy to explain. The Bills brain trust looked at how much their current backups sucked and panicked. Being so late in the preseason also added to the "panic" moniker. Prudent is obvious, a seasoned vet who is sure to be able to help Manuel as well as be a very decent game manager should he be called upon to do so.
  2. Oh yes, many times more in my opinion. The kids day preseason game a couple years back the tickets were selling on the after market at 3 to 4 times the normal dirt cheap preseason price because of all the Steeler fans buying them.
  3. There are a LOT of Steeler fans here and a fair amount of Browns fans as well.
  4. I've never wanted to go to an away game more in my life. Great job to everyone involved!
  5. Holy crap, big area around Chicago.
  6. What he means is, he has no use for cheerleaders for things that they would agree to
  7. Was listening to ESPN on the way home from work and they were interviewing the Bears "beat reporter" about the game Sunday. He didn't give the Bills any chance at all. Thinks the Bears D is far better than last year, with Watkins hurt the Bills WR core is average and Manuel is below average. He also thinks the Bears WRs may be the best unit in the NFL this season and with no Byrd and Gilmore hurting he figures Cutler and those WRs will have their way with the Bills secondary. Lets hope the Bills show more Sunday than they have so far and make this guy rethink everything.
  8. I'm pretty sure I saw a HS squad perform at halftime at the Ralph at least once in the past. Preseason game maybe.
  9. I honestly can't say the Jills ever added anything to my game day experience at the Ralph. The dancing they do in the corners during the game is pointless, and for the halftime show they could/should get local high school squads to do it. They are more talented anyway.
  10. I'm sure he is going to give it a try like he did in the Lions game and maybe by then the pain will be manageable, so I am not calling him a liar. But anyone who has had injured ribs can tell you that you definitely know they are there. It can hurt to just breathe. He is speaking from bravado in my opinion. I have no agenda about Watkins. In fact, I'm all for a faith healer laying hands on his ribs and fixing them right up. Been a long time since I had a needle. If a treatment exists for ribs I'm sure he will have access to it. Is there something effective with ribs? Other parts of the body sure, but ribs?
  11. Bull ****. Did you see the 2 plays he was in against the Lions. You feel rib problems, period.
  12. You answered your own question ... $9.00 beers in the stadium.
  13. Had famous daves years ago and quite frankly they sucked. Could have gotten better I suppose. Sticky Lips and Dino are not bad. But best in Roch in my opinion bad to the bone and good smoke (recently discovered thanks to TBD!). Chicago has a lot of very VERY good BBQ joints!
  14. I wish they were all 1pm starts. Hey commish ... can you help a guy out please and change the schedule?
  15. That's OK. Jerrah also said firing Chan Gailey was the worst mistake he ever made. Based on this, Johnny Football is doomed to failure.
  16. People usually get that way towards the end of a season and are sucked back in by preseason
  17. Speaking for myself, i became a Bills fan once I moved to Rochester after college. We moved every 3 years or so when I was a kid and my Dad was a minor football fan, not real hardcore. So I didn't have a team growing up or even watch much football. I got to know the Bills and started following them.
  18. Yup, the biggest smokescreen in the history of the NFL! Even bigger than the ones pulled off by ChaNix!
  19. There is always the personal ban, the big shiny ignore !
  20. QB in general, but abiding by the spirit of your question, HC and OC without a doubt.
  21. Well played, that was at least clever and not the usual "you suck because you aren't a Bills fan anymore".
  22. Why are so many posters here acting like whiny little bitches who got stood up for the middle school dance? He bothered enough to write a well thought out opinion of the current state of the Bills from an outsiders perception but also as someone who has in the past followed the Bills closely. It was far better than most drivel I have seen in the media lately. I did not see anything insulting in what he wrote, and I have to think that most football fans see things the same way. Time to sack up and grow a pair.
  23. That really is what we have to hope for isn't it. That Marrones comment of not showing the playbook in preseason is true, that Manuel is much better and much more consistent than he has shown, that Watkins ribs are healed and he was just faking the pain Thursday night, and that the Bills in general are far better than they have shown in preseason. That plus maybe that the Bears come in overconfident and not ready. The good news is, in less that a week we will know.
