  1. It's amazing how many quality NFL GMs and coaches are posting on a fan message board. Pegulas probably could have just started a thread poll for every decision and gotten a free GM!
  2. This team wasn't close to being that good and certainly not close to winning a super bowl. How many good teams have the Bills beat recently. Maybe 1? Green Bay a couple years ago. Other than that it's a wasteland of beating bad and mediocre teams and getting killed by the good teams. What makes you think Lynn or Schwartz are better than McDermott? I think all this speculation about McDermott is WAY WAY to premature.
  3. There's no debating that prior to this year things have been a debacle. But you have two choices: 1) you can be saddle the new FO/Coaching Staff/Players with things that have happened in the past even though they may have had no part in it and could hold back the potential. 2) recognize that Rome wasn't built in a day and to get where you want to be it's going to take time and likely be a painful process, but at least you empowered the people you hired and brought in so there's total accountability and no excuses. I choose 2. Amazes me how many people are obsessed with 1.
  4. Did you see the play? Michael Scott after carbo loading could have ran it in, untouched. Did you also notice that those were the only play he really got. Third RB in the game.
  5. It's not just the Bills, it's every game. The rules have become way too complex, the scrutiny on every play by everyone causing officials to err on the side of making a call, the overengineering of the game. All this has caused these officials to throw the flag WAY too much. It's really getting difficult to watch a game. IMO this is a much bigger factor to football potentially losing appeal down the road than concussions. It's very very difficult to watch games these days.
  6. Here's the Tampa Bay fans take. The Pewter Report. Very interesting perspectives. Some fans thinks it's a win for the Bills, some the Rams, some the Eagles, some a two way tie and the eagles losing and some a three way tie. Takes all around. https://www.pewterreport.com/forums/topic/sammy-watkins-to-rams/
  7. Huh? This is one of the most pathetic topics I've seen. Who gives a flying F what Pats fans think. Just because their team has been good doesn't change the fact that it's a baseball town with fair weather football fans that in majority started paying attention about 20 years ago, MAX.
  8. I am shocked people are upset about this! The Bills were not going anywhere this year. The Watkins risk/reward is a tough chance to take when you have so many needs already, especially at QB. He's an injury risk and nearing the end of his contract, even if we franchise him next year. So getting a second and a player for him makes a ton of sense. Darby was gross last year and Matthews is a solid WR who's been excellent early in his career. And getting a third also is incredible. Vision, planning, decisiveness. I really like it.
  9. WOW! I really like these moves. Matthews is really solid. No idea about Gaines, but a second and a third are great pickups. Darby was gross last year and I love Sammy, but he's a huge risk. Probably figured we were not going to take that risk in the offseason, so to get a second and a CB for him now is great.
  10. It's a filler article. It's just an uninteresting piece of conjecture because he needs to find things to write about all AFC East teams nearly every day. Good example of why I never go to or watch espn at all. Ever.
  11. Hah! That's an incredible post. Completely demented.
  12. The last 100 years or so is a drop of water in the ocean of total climate history. It's a beyond complex issue and the models used to make measurements and draw conclusions are based on tons of assumptions. Throw into the issue the fact that politicians use the fear of climate change to throw around billions of dollars and curry favor and in turn receive cash at least in the form of campaign contributions and yeah, I think a healthy dose of skepticism is pretty logical. Very little is actually known and understood about how the brain works, yet more is known about that than the climate.
  13. It's called life. We can't bubble wrap everyone into a narrow set of choices. People make decisions and live with the consequences. The risks are known or at least suspected.
  14. I think the another real problem with this issue is more with how every issue is portrayed in our 'immediacy' and 'litigious' culture. Combine that with the SJW world we live in and entitlement and you have a perfect storm of bad reactions. There is absolutely a need for more research on this topic. I think it makes sense to have more of a safety net for older players who played at a time when the risks were less know or maybe more concealed, and they were compensated at a far lower rate. But for contemporary players, forget about it. At this point, they know there is some risk, so they can at least make a little bit more of an informed decision. They are also compensated at a much higher rate than players from decades ago. Additionally, it makes a ton of sense to try and improve th game and the equipment to try and reduce the risks.
  15. At the 33.3333333 repeating yard line
  16. Cut the cord and love it. Got an Apple TV and get a DirectTV now subscription. $35/mo for basically most channels. Also get content on demand from the channel's app on the Apple TV. For local content, use an HD aentenna. I will never get cable again, ever.
  17. Yep. Totally agree and don't know the answer. I think they hope Petermen is that guy soon, but they want a "floor" guy just in case.
  18. I think it's pretty simple, the FO wants to be covered in all situations. If the team is contending (like seriously contending not "in the hunt"), for a playoff spot and TT goes down, you want someone who can step in and not be in their first NFL game taking snaps behind center. You also need someone who knows the offense and been with the team for a bit. That's the reason, I agree with it, but it's a pretty narrow scenario that it plays out this way.
  19. Point one - There is a reason why we have the electoral college. It's not just because in the 1700s it was easier than counting individual votes. Contrary to popular believe, we don't live in a pure democracy. We live in a constitutional republic. It was set up specifically this way to provide check and balances and multiple levels, within the federal government and between federal government and the states. It's a pretty genius framework that ensures the vast majority of the country from an area standpoint is not de-facto governed by the population centers of the coasts. Point two - the election was not "hacked". No votes were changes, no machines were tampered with. Point three - it always amazes me when people cite the popular vote as evidence that Hillary would have won a popular election if that was in fact the system we used to elect the president. Not a single person can project what would happen. The best barometer for that would be the battleground states, which trump won.
  20. There is very little doubt in my mind that all of this ridiculousness is just further alienating the left from most Americans. They just can't learn their lesson. After losing the house, senate, presidency, and most of the state governorships and legislatures they just double, triple, quadruple down. It isn't working, their message doesn't resonate. So in the absence of a message, they are trying desperately to just create noise and "resist". People don't buy it. 2018 will be a bloodbath for them.
  21. It's the NFL. Every team deals with this crap Haha! What? Blacks can't get permits to CC?
  22. Very clickbaity subject line
  23. Confession: I clicked on this thread just to see what "jeffismagic"'s reaction is.
