  1. There is the technical distinction that these are not for profit entities. These aren’t entities that can put money back directly into the pockets of these politicians via simple and direct business transactions. Now I am sure there are back channel ways to funnel money to these people via these foundations (although not for profits are heavily regulated so there is at least some level of scrutiny) but there is a vast difference from a president openly running a business where you can openly bribe them unlimited amounts of money directly to a president having a not for profit foundation designed to do charity work. I also don’t defend the notion that if those foundations are corrupt those people should have been thrown out of office. I don’t get your “Well everybody does it” argument here. For one this isn’t the same thing as a business but even setting aside the technical different I don’t care to defend any pol’s use of a foundation. You either care about corruption or you don’t. You aren’t arguing in good faith if you think people criticizing Trump for these corrupt dealings as don’t have an issue with general corruption using those types of foundations. Making everything into a partisan issue to obfuscate from corrupt behavior is you working backwards from your conclusion that Trump is good and great in everything he does.
  2. A- easily having a really good season. The offense lacks an elite passing weapon (John Brown is a good WR2 and Beasely a good WR3 but there lacks a true number one receiver) and a decent tightend (Lee Smith is a blocking specialist, Knox is a raw project and Sweeney is more of a backup at this point who is also developing, and Kroft is well hurt.) The running back core is solid but unspectacular and the O-line is good. So overall I consider the talent Daboll has had to work with around Josh and I think he has done a fairly good job. Josh has also developed in several areas too so it is a plus to see positive QB development. I can't say it is without fault but play calls are only as good as the result 80% of the time. I think the offense looks to be well put together and a lot of their issues stem from Josh being a young developing QB and the lack of weapons besides Beasley and Brown.
  3. The Emoluments Clause exits for a very good reason. Not only from a moral perspective should you not be enriching yourself from the office of the presidency while president but you also risk being literally bribed via your business interests by foreign governments and entities. How anyone could couch this as a partisan issue is beyond me. Jimmy Carter had to put his peanut farm into a blind trust just on the off-chance that he might become corrupted though that business interest.
  4. In the NFL you rarely have teams that consistently blow out other teams. Winning is usually pretty fragile and you always have the 2 and 2 theory where every team is going to come out flat twice and come out nearly unbeatable twice. I wouldn't say the Bills came out flat Sunday but it wasn't their best effort not a bad effort but a subpar one.
  5. This team hasn't dominated anyone besides maybe the Giants. The Titans, Fins, Bengals and Jets games were all games that had things break right. The Jets and Titans kickers wrapped a lot of points for the team that could have been the difference, the Bengals game required a comeback after nearly coughing up the game, and the Fins were a redzone turnover from having a 21-9 lead or at the very least a 17-9 lead half way through the third. Granted the teams only loss was by a razor thin margin too. But in the end winning in the NFL is very fragile, good teams win games by thin margins. Great teams dominate teams more consistently than not. I think the Bills are a good team. They are well coached, disciplined, deep, and have elite defensive talent, solid special teams talent and competent offensive talent. I have my concerns about the team but the fact act they are well coached leads me to have confidence that they are winning these close games due to their strengths in that department as opposed to dumb luck that can run out.
  6. I know I looked at the schedule and thought that this team better get off to a hot start (I thought they had to be at least 4-2 by the time they play the Eagles) because the schedule was going to get really brutal after they played the trash Fins. I thought the Eagles and Browns (away) games were going to be hard toss up type games. Then after the Broncos game (at home) I thought there was another brutal stretch with the Cowboys (away), Ravens, Steelers (Away) and Patriots (away) before finishing with the Jets at home. However the Eagles and Browns are more looking like games where the Bills will be favored couched between heavily favored games against the Fins and Redskins. The Bills even for accounting for a strange upset in those 4 games could easily go 3-1 and sit at 8-2 going into another game where they would be favored in against the Broncos and sit at 9-2 going into a tough stretch where even if they go 1-3 against the Cowboys, Ravens, Steelers, and Pats they sit at 10-5 going into a home game against a Jets team that they should be favored against. The way I look at it is simply just keep winning one week at a time. The Eagles are not a cake walk even at home. Take this game and you go 6-1 going into a very winnable Redskins game. Hopefully they can just keep piling up wins and hit 9 wins by the time they go into that brutal stretch of 4 games.
  7. What made that play by Hyde more impressive was that it was actually a really solid onside kick attempt the Fins kicker bounced it really well and timed it to go 10 yards perfectly. Hyde had to make a great play on it just to recover it and keep the Fins away from the ball.
  8. Josh’s play has been very up and down this season. The Jets game he was awful for most of it but played brilliantly in the second half. The Giants game he was good in, no real complaints. Josh almost cost the team the game against the Bengals with some bad turnovers but came out in the end. The Pats game was horrid. But he played well in the Titans game minus the one turnover which was a huge negative in a tight game. Against the Fins Josh turned in a really good performance. If I were grading Josh I would give him a C+ or a B- for the season. Now that’s not bad for a second year QB in most circumstances but considering that the offensive talent around him is slightly above average at best and slightly below average at worst you can consider the circumstances not fantastic for him. I consider Josh a work in progress. He is improving on his bad habits at a good rate. He is being more turnover averse the past 2 weeks and he is avoiding defaulting to his right (although he still scrambles to his right a bit too much.) Josh is going to have some good moments and some bad ones this season but look for what he is getting better on.
  9. Bad teams find ways to lose games I agree, however against awful bottom 6-7 teams you can't let those teams hang around and let a really winnable game slip. If the Bills got taken to the limit by a lower mid level team like the Steelers and the Bills won off turnovers late then that's the NFL, most games are close. But at home against a truly bad team whose talent might be the worst in the league coming off of a bye week the Bills should have established a 2 possession lead by half time and had a 3 possession lead going into the 4th. I am not unrealistic in thinking the Bills should have commanded this game from wire to wire. Granted they pulled it out in the end but my main point is to establish the idea that the Dolphins could have easily had a 2 possession lead half way through the third quarter. That's not putting my mind at ease. I am writing it off and giving the Fins credit for a good offensive game plan and the Fins defense for holding the fort early and not allowing a TD on those first few drives. But I do think that the defense might have shown some vulnerability against larger receivers.
  10. It was not the Bill's best effort. It was a 2 posession win and the Bill's capitalized on the Dolphins mistakes to get the lead and build it to 2 scores. However against the worst team in the league you shouldn't need a INT at the goaline to avoid a 2 posession deficit. You shouldn't need multiple bad turnovers and other plays fo hold the Fins off. But hey they got the win and got the win fairly comfortably. I hope this was more so a case of the Fins having a good gameplan and the Bill's being a little flat. You got the win now time to focus on a reeling Eagles team.
  11. Definitely a work in progress but he has the tools to find the balance. I also think he is being coached up to avoid turnovers and on deep balls putting some extra on it is a good way to do so.
  12. The coaches are probably coaching him to avoid turnovers. Put a little more on the throws is the safer play. I think he finds the balance.
  13. I think his issue with the short range stuff was not knowing how to take enough off the ball and footwork. He has improved the footwork and touch but now he seems to need to recalibrate his touch on the longer passes. I think he figures it out.
  14. You can't drop a game against the Dolphins. You just can't let the games you are supposed to win slip. They got the win with a 2 posession lead late not too shabby.
  15. They have to cut Bojo and find a better punter. There is just no way his punting doesn't cost the team a game at some point. This isn't something hard to fix either. I am sure there is a decent punter out on the market. I think the pass rush was a huge concern early into the second half but they wore down Miami and came through. My long term concern is did this game showcase the secondaries vulnerability to larger recievers?
  16. Every team has vets but there are also a lot of guys who are 28+ like Hughes, Hyde, Poyer, Trent Murphy, Star, Ty, and Beasley among others. It's a blended team lots of young guys, some veterans and lots of prime aged players too. The key thing is to be young at critical positions.
  17. The team isn't that young. I think the team is bottom 10 in average roster age.
  18. My long term worry is that teams try to replicate what the Fins did with their larger receivers.
  19. Not the best game overall but a win by 2 possessions isn't tragic. They got Milano an additional weeks worth of rest and I don't recall anyone getting hurt. The offense just has to get off to punch in those early chances.
  20. Not the best effort overall but they have to close them out with a TD here on this drive.
  21. That is exactly my thought process. I would love a coming out party for Ed sacks wise but you can't expect a guy to go from 0 to 3 in a single game. Certainly is possible but not something you should be expecting.
  22. PFF was actually saying how they might have to eat crow on Josh Allen before the Pats game. I think that Pats game probably graded him out much lower than he should be. I don't think Josh has been a top 10 QB this season but I think he is in the top 20 or so. Certainly not in the bottom 5. Each game he has been accurate and moving the ball well. The turnovers are a blemish for sure but not something that invalidates how much better his overall play has been.
  23. Long is much more versatile than Spain. Although I get the value proposition that Spain might be better. But in the end I guess you can't have enough Oline depth so I wouldn't hate the move provided that Spain would be Ok competing for a spot.
  24. I can't see Spain coming back unless it is on a modest one year deal. Which might be possible since his market this past off-season wasn't too hot and his play has been fairly average or less thus far. I think long term they are going to kick Ford in at LG next season if he continues to struggle at RG. I think Spain would be excellent as a backup but I would rather throw that money elsewhere if he commands anything more than a 3ish million dollar one year deal. Bates and Long are already in place as depth along the interior O-line and I think they are going to draft another O-line player high to push Ty for the RT spot which would add another quality bench player.
  25. I don't see Sanu as a good fit for this team. He is more of a slot receiver and less of an outside threat. I was actually all for trading for him in the off-season before Beasley was signed. But I think Beasley on the roster makes Sanu redundant. I would rather go for Manual Sanders as he adds speed and an outside threat and wouldn't cost much more (Granted that is if Denver doesn't keep winning games.)
