  1. That's more than you and I combined.
  2. This that don't look bad are usually the worst. It's when motion stops that injuries occur.
  3. Haha. For the evening I wear a blackout costume with cape and mask then hide in our haunted garage for those brave enough to enter.
  4. every year i have a good costume but this one. i couldn't figure it out until it was too late to pull off. i was going to be Chappel Roan. the humor of this is lost on many here but i am pretty tall and built, with a beard and quite weathered on the hairline. but, i do love halloween and still have 2 hours of work to do in the garage for the spooky garage.
  5. the steelers are playing the most complete football right now. all facets, special teams, defense, and offense... all 3 are firing. they're a solid team.
  6. this was so dumb of a joke but i still laughed. 🤨 we can hope the texans hit some bumps now with injury but rest up and get well just in time to beat the ravens and chiefs. the cheifs only have 1 truly difficult game left - us.
  7. i have seen that headline this week more than taylor swift headlines. the media is so damn goofy. anyway, this is the kind of game where for some reason things could fire for the jets and they could do well. a good defense could do a lot, and more importantly if Rodgers can get the offense on the same page and lead them it could be a good game. i expect the jets will flounder, the defense will hold and get flagged for it (as they should have been getting for a few years). the texans cake walk this game.
  8. @GunnerBill thinking back on this post and some thoughts i had earlier in the week i need help from you and others in Bills land. I remember McKenzie's blow up in the Patriots game but do not remember many specifics of that game individually. What i do seem to remember was him being in a lot of 3 and 4 WR sets. The sets of 3 WR often included Knox, while the mix of WRs was generally Diggs, Beasley, and Brown/Davis/Sanders (Sanders had over 150 more snap counts than Davis in 2021 - i looked). If memory serves me we used McKenzie as a double slot or tucked underneath. This gave him great range to spread out around the field, as it did with Beasley, Knox, and by 2022 our offense featured only Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, and Shakir as legit WR's. The former not up to form yet, while McKenzie and Davis were truly limited in what they offered. What was special about McKenzie was how much he shined when others were on the field with him and how much they made him better. This is why I think we need to find ways to put the right gadget/special player on the field like Samuel, as you mentioned, to be elevated by the other players on the field. I haven't had the ability to dedicate time to this double slot approach using someone like Samuel/?? or Kincaid opposite of Shakir but I think it could be effective if we can have Cooper or even Samuel playing the decoy down threat throw. They're not purely a decoy but are a low probability throw with high potential outcomes.
  9. @FireChans did not mention McKenzie, which I am glad you did. McKenzie as a gimmick role was tremendous when used properly and was such a wildcard that teams had to account for which did not show up on TV but would show up on game film.
  10. this hurts. that was beautifully written. RIP John. You will be missed.
  11. The Internet keeps things forever, social media gives everyone a voice, a simple statement said without prejudice, hate, or any injustice can too easily be bent to infer harm or insult. It is impossible to protect anyone from just the .01%. There are many things we can and cannot say. There are even more things we should and should not say. There is no barometer, no gauge, no compass on what statements may or may not be approved, approved, or accepted. All we have is a communal sense of moralism and respect we must carry for not just each other but ourselves to encompass that we can forgo empowering those who only want to sew discontent and dishonor the society in which we live. If that was easily possible than we would already be a eutopia.
  12. if he is into that kind of pain stuff it'd make him quit gay.
  13. someone has to be offended by something so they find ways to make words hurt because having a victim status and being injured is great for endorphins and empowering in our society.
  14. i hated losing Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson. We haven't replaced them. they are passable and were vets on the bench.
  15. a .50 cal works.
  16. he posted himself in dolphins gear right at the time he was released. i just noticed it. his story on instagram has it approx. 19 hours ago.
  17. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2025/position/cb/sort/contract_value The tiers of the free agent CB's are amazing. You have 3 out and above the rest. You have a mixed bag beneath that ranging from Byron Murphy who has had his moments to the stalwart Stephon Gilmore filling up the rest of the space until you hit the guys we might target specifically a value signing like Mike Hilton and those shortly below. He's the backside of 30 and could start on this team to shore us up into the draft. I am curious what Douglas signs for...
  18. We backed Elam into a hole. It is not necessarily the case that we blundered this up completely mistaking the best possible way to handle it because the reality was there was no great way to get him playing time. We had to start the best starters and they weren't him. However, if we gave him more playing time and if we allowed him to prove himself to us or another team as trade bait we might have something more in our hands with him. However, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I'd keep him at his contract now and work hard the next few weeks to play him, especially in garbage time, to show what he can do. There is a good chance we rout the Dolphins and that they will leave in their starters longer than we will ours. The first chance we get to put him in this week and next against he Colts the better. We maybe able to get some measure of who he is for ourselves or others. I could see Douglass doing a 1 year contract here or even a multi year contract. I'd not oppose it either and still draft a CB if given the chance. We have the cap space and we know what he offers. It'd be nice going to the draft having one less immediate need.
  19. @GunnerBill just agreed with a post of mine. the world is going to end!?!?!
  20. fine. what about Skelton?
  21. NC may be interesting when the final results in. I would not be shocked if it was a Harris win because the down ballot candidates for the GOP are polling terribly and been widely attacked from all over. NC will have a Dem Gov, AG, School Super, and a State Supreme Court. The LT Gov is still a race. People hate Mark Robinson and the woman running for School Super has been destroyed by the adverts.
  22. Reid is not infallible. In fact, I think he is overrated but he is very good. Reid, like belichick, struggled early in his career. It took finding the right QB and having a little bit of luck having some other things go right. For some reason I have a thought, a feeling, that Reid's house is going to come down.
  23. spoke to a friend who spent 2 weeks up there working with the school system (she is a counselor and has some pretty neat accreditations). she said that a lot of Asheville was lucky, Buncombe county overall the hard part that was hit and kept things closed. It's a pretty big area but the celebration of going back to school was quite something to see on the social media accounts of the residents. it was a moment of triumph. also, you're a stupid doodoo head liberal.
