Ok I don't get it. The reason the Bills are where they are is be caused they have ignored the QB position for years. So the solution to fixing it is to ignore the position for another year? With the rookie salary structure it no longer destroys your franchise for five years if you make a mistake with a QB in the first round. Take one every year until you get it right!

So yesterday my brother, brother-in-law, and I were having this exact discussion. It became apparent that we are a microcosm of this site. My brother thinks they are not doing enough in free agency. I asked what FA would he have liked the Bills to sign, Levitre was really the only one. I think that the Titans over paid my brother does not. His position is that you should spend right up to your cap space limit, but what about next year you still have to sign Bryd and Spiller. My brother-in-law thinks the plan is to tank so that next year the Bills can take Johnny Manziel. To many uncontrollable variables for this to be the plan. If it is their plan it is idiotic. There is 170 some odd days left in free agency. Apparently Lawson was the LB they wanted. Once Bowe resigned with KC were there any WR worth going after? I would like to see something happen at guard and TE.

I think that because Jackson never dressed last year the Bills only give up a seventh.

I agree, the Bills are going to draft a QB, if they guy they want is there at 8 you take him. You can't risk waiting or trying to make a trade. QB is the most important position on the team. To hell with value and what draft pundits think.

I'm not the least bit concerned that the Bills didn't sign any of the FA that were signed today. I do however believe that this off season has been an indication of what an utter failure Buddy Nix has been. Why is he still here?

The reason for optimism is that pessimism is useless. Does anyone really like to spend time around negative, complaining, whining people? I am optimistic about the Bills because this is not the same old same old. Hiring Lovie Smith would have been that.

I agree I didn't bring up Butler, Independent did. I also agree that this os on Nix, his biggest failures are hiring Chan and inability to draft a QB.

I didn't bring up Polian and Butler, Independent did. Ok throw out the salary cap. Butler traded for Rob Johnson, who had had one good game, then signed Flutie creating a QB controversy and he drafted Eric Flowers.

Not to speak ill of the dead but Butler started this problem. He kept aging vets too long, put the team in salary cap hell, had bad drafts and made stupid trades.
