  1. The Bills wouldn't be in the position they're currently in secondary-wise if they had actually sought to improve it in the offseason. Even the novice fan knew that, aside from Gilmore, the corner position was extremely weak. McKelvin resigned; but let's be honest, that was more in relation to his status as one of the best return men in football, as opposed to his corner play. For a team with their cap space, neglecting such a glaring weakness is an insult to our intelligence as fans. But again, this is the way the franchise has operated for much of the last two decades (post Superbowl-era). Instead of doing their shopping at Target, the Bills prefer to scour the shelves at Dollar Tree.
  2. Nobody dumpster-dives like the Buffalo Bills!
  3. Why would the Bills not use McKelvin to return punts?! He's the best in the league, for crying out loud!! Is it because we don't want to run the risk of him getting hurt, and thus not having McKelvin available to play corner? Seriously?!! He sucks as a corner- always has! Frankly, I'd rather see the Bills starting 2 street free agents at cb as opposed to McKelvin. Let him return punts; and keep him the hell out of our secondary!
  4. Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola. If we're talking strictly about football, the Michaels/Collinsworth tandom is high quality. On the opposite, it's rumored that Greg Gumbal, Bob Trumpy, and Dan Dierdorf broadcast all games shown locally in the deepest depths of hell.
  5. If Leinart stays for the season, he can reach out to his fellow USC alum Rob Johnson to find out which dealer has the best hot tubs in Buffalo.
  6. Two problems here- One, Kolb doesn't have a "football" related injury. It's a "Kolb" related injury. Not concussion-like symptoms, bit Kolb-like symptoms. And two, for the Bills to wait for Kolb to get healthy will be a never-ending process- it could extend for the rest of our lifetimes. We're kind of stuck with this guy- he's a bad penny.
  7. Don't even insinuate that there's a possibility of Smith making the team. You don't want to incite the pitchfork crowd here that want to run Smith out of town on a rail (after he's tarred and feathered of course). It's as if Brad Smith insulted their wives, slept with their mothers, then stole money from them. Brad Smith is the root of all evil on TSW!
  8. It would be a colossal boner on the part of this organization to jerk Wood around. He's liable to blow his top and leave at the end of the season. Wood provides the putty that keeps this line stuck together. As Longfellow once said- "In this world a man must either be anvil or hammer". Wood's definitely a hammer.
  9. Unfortunately Slim Pickens has been dead for 30 years or so. Too bad, because given the nature of the TE market, I'd sign him in a heartbeat. He was a rodeo star- good athlete I suppose.
  10. Kobb essentially is Kelly Holcomb all over again. Maybe the Bills should put out a feeler to see what Holcomb's up to these days. We know Kobb is but a sneeze away from a ribcage injury.
  11. Oh goodie!! And so it begins. I'm all tingly in anticipation for the Kevin Krapp era to begin. Another year, another mediocrity under center to start the Buffalo Bills season. If Manuel can't play I sincerely hope Marrone has the stones to start the undrafted rookie over the Man of Glass. I'd rather see Tuel chucking the ball around the yard a`la Daryl Lamonica, than watching Kobb short-hopping the ball to Spiller on swing passes. And no, complaining about Kobb does not mean that I'm any less a Bills fan than any of you. I'm just sick of watching crappy players (particularly at QB) being trotted out on the field at the Ralph every fall!
  12. Marrone should consider these looks-
  13. We’re all indebted to AKA Bigdog for clearly stating what needed to be said. Not only was it authentic Stadium Wall gibberish, but it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.
  14. Para bailar La Unamba! Para bailar La Unamba! se necesita una poca de gracia Una poca de gracia para mí para tí y arriba y arriba Y arriba y arriba por tí seré, por tí seré, por tí seré
  15. Obviously a mistake. Chan Erhardt signed with the Chargers. The Bills plan to replace both he and Randy Levitra with Collins Browne and/or Herbie Sanderson. But I say look out for the newly-signed Antonio Coldwall.
  16. Would have stood a better chance last year. Gailey's conditioning test centered on watching 3 hours of "Hee Haw" on the RFD channel.
  17. It's understandable...he has to be about 55 or so by now. I wonder if Mark Brammer will be signed to fill the roster spot?
  18. A lot of miserable tight-asses on the board today! Come on! Lighten-up! It must be great to go through life so pious and sanctimonious!
  19. If Kolb wins the starting job this year, you'll be badmouthing him by week three at the earliest. His deer-in-headlights pocket "presence" is bordering on Trent Edwards-like. And for all of the criticisms of his teams' pass protection, the fact remains that Kolb makes Paul Posluszny look like Lou Gehrig...he's as brittle as a Ming vase.
  20. Who gives a rat's a$$! As long as he's not beating his girlfriend, doing 110 in a 35 mph zone, driving drunk, smoking weed, etc....no big whoop. Anyone who has their panties in a bunch over this needs to chill. Just because he was paid an exorbitant amount of money doesn't mean he's required to spend his free time building hospitals, visiting the troops, or signing autographs at Mighty Taco. He's an adult who has time-off from work- he can do what he damn well pleases (just like the rest of us).
  21. I just Googled "Kevin Kolb Fan Club" and, lo and behold, there actually were a few. Nonetheless, I'm going to have to say "count me out!" I'm sick and tired of these retreads the Bills have trotted-out there over the years (post-Kelly). I'll sink or swim with the rookie.
  22. I, for one, think back to the '93 Comeback game, and one play (call) in particular that solidified my belief that Levy was not just a good, but great, head coach. In the 3rd quarter, trailing 35-24, and having momentum- Levy eschewed the field goal and chose to go for it on a 4th and 5 from the 18 yard line. What other coach makes that call? Maybe a Belichick, who knows? I'd say 99% of coaches would not. Conventional wisdom dictates kicking the field goal and cutting the lead to 8 (after all you have an entire quarter left to play). If the Bills had failed to convert on that play, Levy is ripped to shreds by fan and media alike. But the Bills went for it, got the touchdown pass to Reed, and the rest is history. One of the gutsiest calls I've ever seen a coach make.
  23. If Marrone communicates well with his players, that's all that truly matters. I don't think he's functionally illiterate or anything- so who cares? Although I do miss the verbose erudition of Marv Levy. Ironically, I also miss his profanity-laced tirades on the sidelines.
  24. Nothing against Shuler (I bet he's a great guy)- but I'd rather the Bills had given Lonnie Johnson a call to see what he's up to these days (my guess would be about 350 lbs.). If Chandler starts the year on the PUP list, this is going to be a stellar group of TE's indeed. Lee Smith can block, but he has the mobility of my dishwasher. Other than Smith, not much to hang your hopes on- Caussin, Gragg and now Shuler. Oh for the days of McKeller, Metzelaars, and Rolle.
  25. I can tell you one person who doesn't want to see Kolb starting- Russ Brandon. Nothing will squelch ticket sales more than another journeyman QB starting games for this franchise.
