  1. I, for one, am sick and tired of watching Spencer Johnson get his ass kicked every week.
  2. Where do we upgrade? Ownership
  3. I have a tough time taking Rivers seriously. Every time he takes his helmet off all I see is Jim Carrey in "Dumb and Dumber".
  4. If I'm not mistaken, I believe I heard that Thurman Thomas found out about his release from an ESPN report. Classy Bills
  5. Honestly, they should force Manuel to throw it 40 times/game for the rest of the way. And not the dink and dunk crap he's been inclined to lean towards. Down the field! Just open it up completely. With the speed outside, you wouldn't think it'd be a problem. The only way they're going to find out as to whether or not Manuel is the answer at QB is to just unleash him. If he fails; if he still dumps it off more often than not, then you can reasonably conclude that he's not NFL caliber. Then they can invest a high draft pick in yet another QB. And if Manuel is SO bad that they end up drafting in the top five, so be it. Bridgewater would look good in a Bills uniform.
  6. "It could be worse...It could be raining."
  7. This team may be 3-6, but they could easily be 6-3. They are prone to self-inflicted wounds that cost them; but give me a break. They have been in every game, save the Saints game, until the final few minutes. They are ultra-competitive. There's a great deal of promise here. People can rant about Marrone, Hackett, etc. But I give this staff a ton of credit- they have this team ready to play each week. Gailey's staff, on the other hand, paled in comparison. The organization screwed up when they let Tavaris Jackson go during the offseason; and they dropped the ball by keeping Tuel as the lone backup to Manuel at the start of the year. Nonetheless I like the direction they're going in. Just have to remain positive about it!
  8. Great post and spot-on!
  9. Indeed. And the defense was impressive too!
  10. It's amazing how mant Tuel apologists there are on this board. If, after that dreadful showing, you can say "Oh, he tried" or "Oh, he made a few mistakes", I honestly don't know what to say. I'm dumbfounded that anyone would defend such atrocious QB play.
  11. I can't believe I'm typing this but I'd rather have Tebow.
  12. Tuel's greatest strength is obviously deception. He's deceived this organization into believing that he can play QB in the NFL, when any of us with common sense can see otherwise.
  13. See you on draft weekend 2014.
  14. you forgot: 5. Coolness under pressure like Joe Montana 6. The quick release of Dan Marino 7. The ability to extend the play of Ben Roethlisburger 8. The fearlessness of Brett Farve 9. The toughness of Jim Kelly
  15. This whole entire mess could have been avoided if Jackson had been retained. I'm not saying he would have been great stepping in; but given the cavalcade of QBs we witnessed going back to training camp (Kolb, Leinart, Tuel, Lewis, Flynn, Dixon), Jackson would have been more viable for sure.
  16. If Tuel starts, my realistic expectation would be for the Bills to be trailing 21-0 at the half and contemplating a QB change. If the Chiefs offense were more prolific, it would be 30-0. The only hope is for the Bills defense to have a phenomenal game and somehow, someway the offense musters enough points to eke out a 13-10 type of game.
  17. Tuel exhales carbon dioxide which is needed by plant life.
  18. I think teams are going to coddle a young QB in the aftermath of what happened with RGIII last season. It's unfortunate. EJ could have been ready to play last week for all we know. But the staff is going to err on the side of caution, even as the season begins to circle the drain. Football players take risks every time they step on the field. Rookie or ten-year vet- if they can physically play, they should. It's the risk you run when you're paid millions to play a game. But you ARE being paid handsomely to play this game, risks and all. So either play, or step aside and let someone else have that roster spot and hefty payday. And the Bills can't handle Manuel with kid gloves forever; you have to take the training wheels off at some point. If Manuel gets dinged, bruised or battered- it's part of the game. Time for Manuel to put on his big boy pants and play.
  19. This is far from a "well thought out and designed thread". It's called beating a dead horse!
  20. This thread immediately brings the phrase "rat's a$$" to mind
  21. Maybe there's been a delay in the announcement that the Bills acquired Jared Allen in a trade (maybe Jim Kelly had to call Allen to assure him that there are plenty of "deers" in WNY to shoot).
