I think we need to get Jerry Hughes into space

Alex Henery for President
RussellDopeland replied to Tyrod's Tailor's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We shouldn't go all "NY Giants" and taunt the other team for their kicker and his failures. The Giants and their Norwood jersey is as bush-league as it goes. -
Hey Marrone - Start Bryce Brown!
RussellDopeland replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not calling for Brown to start- but he needs to be activated next week. Spiller can't run inside period. -
Worst Bills player. Top 3 listed. Please vote
RussellDopeland replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know he was worth millions $, but Ko Simpson merits consideration. And no mention of "greats" such as good-ol' Lonnie Johnson, Corbin Lacina, or the ultimate punt-catcher Chris Watson? -

Joe Panos' play makes Eric Pears look like Joe DeLamielleure. -
Naaman Roosevelt back to the practice squad

I believe it was Kenneth Branagh. It was episode 8- and Tommy Lee Jones as the voice of Chan Gailey was spot-on. -
A tough row to hoe for Orton
RussellDopeland replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Far be it from me" to question this thread's message. I think for Orton to help this team beat the Lions is "easier said than done". However, I hope the OP has to "eat crow" by the time the game ends on Sunday. Hopefully Marrone will "read him the riot act" before the game just to let Orton know that the team is "pinning their hopes" on him. I think the QB change is "playing with fire", if not going to the "point of no return"- but maybe Marrone is "playing his cards right". QB changes are "par for the course" in this league- Manuel's play was "nothing to write home about". The change has given Orton a "new lease on life", and it's "no skin off my nose". -
Would you bring Charlie Weis in as OC consultant?
RussellDopeland replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They could dig up Bill Walsh, Paul Brown and Sid Gillman- wouldn't matter with this QB -
Bills at Texans Postgame
RussellDopeland replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No it's not. It's better to wait until the team is 2-5, and Manuel continues to suck, before "sweeping changes" are made. Come on Fred!!! You've been here long enough to have witnessed this boatload of crap before (practically every season)- you should be leading the charge for some semblance of change. If the change is nothing more than benching a QB who lacks b@lls for the veteran backup- what's wrong with that? -
Bills' All Time Best Offensive Play Caller
RussellDopeland replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My dad! I can remember as a kid, during the Knox years, watching games with him- he'd call out the play before the snap ("Cribbs running left on a pitch") and he'd be right like 95% of the time. Problem was the opponent knew it too. -
ESPN suspended Bill Simmons
RussellDopeland replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simmons is but a prime example of the mass-media desire to be as much a part of the story (any story) as the original story itself. Our media is chock-full of egotists that want the spotlight shining brighty on them. If they can make a name for themselves by becoming a central part of the discourse, they will. This wasn't some extemporaneous rant- it was calculated to draw attention to Bill Simmons, just the way he wanted it. -
Cyril Richardson needs to get a shot at RG
RussellDopeland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on tools alone, Richardson should have been given a legitimate shot to be a starting guard from day one. For some reason I feel the Marrone isn't sold on either Kouandjio or Richardson. I know Marrone played OL in the league (albeit briefly), and started as a line coach. But after seeing what our former OL coach (D'Alessandris) is doing with a line that, minus Fluker, is rather ordinary (including Rheingold), I can't help but think that players like Urbik and Pears would be performing much better with, yes i'll say it- BETTER coaching! Urbik was never an issue under D'Alessandris...now he sucks? And is Pears going to reprise the "Colin Brown/Doug Legursky" crapfest this year as a guard? Hell, Colin Brown was passable under the previous regime; under Marrone, he was arguably the worst lineman in the history of the franchise. I don't care that he was a lineman- stop anointing Marrone as some sort of OL "guru". -
What Manuel really needs is a swift kick in the a$$ from his godfather Bruce. I mean it with all sincerity. He seems too mild-mannered and frankly, meek. To be a great player not only is talent required, but the "want" has to be present as well. Neither Manuel nor Gilmore appear to have that "want" at the moment- they're content to leave the stadium after a loss with a shrug of the shoulders and the banal phrase "we need to get better" on their lips. QBs have to have brass b@lls- Manuel plays as if he lacks them altogether.

Game Balls and Sweaty Jockstraps
RussellDopeland replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gilmore and Manuel for sure. Pears should be on the waiver-wire. -
I have officially fallen off the Manuel wagon today. I'm convinced he's another Edwards in the making. Hope the Dougs are telling Orton to get his arm loose- their tenures with the Bills may end up falling on the shoulders of Orton. Manuel just lacks that "it" quality that elite QBs have... a realization that struck me watching this dreadful performance.

Welcome Home Chas Rheingold!!!
RussellDopeland replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems like only yesterday Chaz Rheinbono was a cute little girl on her parent's TV show. Now he's an offensive guard in the NFL. Some may welcome him back- I hope Kyle Williams treats him like the little girl he once was. I'm more happy to welcome back our former o-line coach- Moe D'ellisandria. -
This entire story has been "much ado about nothing". No, I'm not talking about Rice punching his then-girlfriend- that was emetic and appalling. I'm referring to the media coverage of the NFL, Goodell and the supposed "cover up". What has happened to the "press" from days of yore? The media today is chock-full of dimwitted morons who represent the idiocy of today. All we have to do locally is read the rag that is "The Buffalo News"- it's only good for lining the bottom of a birdcage. Journalistic integrity- encompassing facts and pertinent information has been superseded by hyperbole, rhetoric and conspiracy theory. The "sensational" is all that matters. This sordid episode smacks of the Miami bullying "scandal" from last year. ESPN, Profootballtalk and jackasses with twitter accounts (masquerading as journalists) will be the ruination of this great game eventually. Why? Because the game is violent- players are concussed- oh woe is me! People need to unbunch their panties, grow a backbone, and just enjoy the game (knowing damn well that not every one of the 53 players on our team's roster are Nobel laureates or angels).

Candlelight vigil in memory of Doug Legursky's play
RussellDopeland replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My fear is that soon the Bills will find out that Chris Williams is a Renault LeCar compared to Brown's Pinto and Legursky's Gremlin. -
Candlelight vigil in memory of Doug Legursky's play
RussellDopeland replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Legursky was not great. But after the Colin Brown project, he was an "upgrade". Then again, they could have rolled a marble statue out at LG and it would have performed better than Brown. -
Where to watch Bills in Munich
RussellDopeland replied to Mopreme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would suggest the Bürgerbräukeller. It's rather large so it can accommodate a large contingent of NFL fans. You probably should avoid the place around the Kansas City game the first week of November however. -
Dare we play Caption This?
RussellDopeland replied to HansLanda's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rodak's a hack- everybody know this. This whole thing is much ado about nothing! Here's probably what transpired- Marrone: "The g*ddamn vending machine took my dollar but didn't give me my Kit-Kat bar!!" Whaley: "HA HA!" Brandon: "Why you b!tching at me- talk to maintenance!!!"
