  1. ESPN sucks. Might as well get your NFL insight from bleacher report or TMZ
  2. He's a "joke" with three straight 1,000 yard seasons to his credit. Reed didn't accomplish that; nor did Dubenion, Chandler, Butler, Moulds, Evans. You know who is a joke? TJ Graham. Graham continues to get playing time in spite of the fact that his play is abhorrent. You know what else is a joke? This thread.
  3. This is an excellent 1st post. Spot on! Patience must be exercised with Manuel. He's played but three games in the league. Also, he only played three quarters in the preseason, and missed many practices while recuperating from his knee "procedure". Plus, when you factor in the point that two-a-days ( two full practices) are no longer allowed, a rookie QB has an even greater task in front of him.
  4. Frankly I'd rather the Bills brought back any of the guys they cut at the end of camp (Caldwell, Snow, Sanders) and gave one of them a shot. Brown needs to be released.
  5. Why you frontin Nigel? Bad enough the cops harass him. They see him rollin They hatin Patrolling they tryin to catch him ridin dirty
  6. Invite her to Buffalo? I think the Bills should sign her to play guard.
  7. I voted "other". I think we should trade a batch of wings to the Cowboys for a life-size Fathead poster of Larry Allen. We can start the poster at LG Sunday.
  8. Don't worry about this- Russ has it under control. The Bills have a secret weapon up their sleeves: "Analytics". The Analytics Department at One Bills Drive has concluded that there isn't a need to pursue a veteran DB or two. It makes more sense, according to "Analytics" to sign inexperienced nobodies like Johnny Adams and Brandon Burton, and to continue to play the mediocrity that is Justin Rogers. Truth is, "Analytics" was and is a load of crap! If you were to find an "Analytics Department" at the stadium, all you would see upon opening the door is Littman and Overdorf counting Ralph's money. Twenty million under the cap, and we get to see cheap, mediocre players like Colin Brown and Justin Rogers stinking-up the joint every week, and helping cost this team games in the end.
  9. I think that the corner position is unique in the sense that players who have played it in the NFL have the fundamental understanding of the position and its nuances. And no matter what "scheme" a team employs, a CB can be signed and told, in essence, "just cover 81 or 85" and you leave it at that. In the case of Rogers, it's clear he's not up to it. Sign a Trufant, tell him to cover Torrey Smith, and adjust that rest of your secondary accordingly. It's not rocket science. As far a roster spots- simple: cut Rogers, Johnny Appleseed, Branton Brunden (or whatever their names are) and TJ Graham (he's as useless as teats on a bull anyways!). Then sign three veteran corners (like a Trufant, Sheldon Brown, or McGee). Again, not rocket science.
  10. So the boat is taking on water. Instead of trying to plug the holes, and bail the water out of the boat, the Bills are focused instead on whether or not the boat should be repainted? My guess is that "more to come" probably means they're going to look at punters and middle linebackers.
  11. When I think of all-time worst performances by Bills, for some reason the name "Billy Joe Hobert" keeps popping into my head.
  12. Marrone has used the term "accountability" since his hiring; yet where is this accountability? The offensive coordinator is in over his head (the scheme is fundamentally unimaginative and the play-calling atrocious). The team continues to take bad penalties (speaks to lack of discipline). And from an offensive standpoint, the Bills have two of the worst players in recent memory continuing to play and see significant time (Colin Brown and TJ Graham). Where is this accountability that Marrone spoke of so glibly?
  13. When I first saw the name "Flutie" on the list, I wanted to puke. Then perusing further, I realized that obviously the list was compiled partly in jest! Seriously? Travis Henry? Willis McGahee ? If we are serious about this thing, what about any these names: Cookie Gilchrist Butch Byrd Bob Chandler Chuck Knox Tony Greene Reggie McKenzie Joe Cribbs Will Wolford Nate Odomes I do believe that we're overlooking the man that is guaranteed to be the next name placed on the wall- Chris Kelsay! And you know the Bills will, in all likelihood, do exactly that. It will be the final befitting accolade for a stumble-bum who personified the mediocrity of the last decade.
  14. Yes, and we should also look at Alan Greenspan. He's still around, alive and kicking, and he got his start working for Alexander Hamilton at the Treasury Department years ago.
  15. "It's an old Sicilian message. It means Rex Ryan sleeps with the fishes."
  16. Well, I'm pretty adept using photoshop. Unfortunately, I'm also a miserable Bills fan. If they were to adopt a new logo, it should be accurate:
  17. Actually would've preferred Tommy Jefferson to Adams (he's taller and much lighter on his feet), but I'm willing to give Adams a chance.
  18. Personally, I thought Chandler was one of the worst players on the field yesterday. A complete non-factor, aside from the penalty/drop miscues. The Bills have long-needed a TE threat (a true down-field option). There was a thread relating to this last week. A good TE is a quarterback's best friend...right now Chandler (given what was exhibited yesterday) is not that "friendly" option for Manuel. Dickerson might not be great; but his speed/athleticism combo surpasses both Chandler and Smith. Gragg, to me, is a project better suited for the practice squad.
  19. This thread makes me think that One Bills Drive over the last few days has looked like the closing credits of the Benny Hill Show, with "Yakety Sax" blaring throughout the building. You can imagine the scene- Whaley, probably dressed as a woman, being chased by the coaching staff throughout the offices with Marrone beating Brandon over the head with an umbrella- something along those lines.
  20. Maybe it's "The curse of Lonnie Johnson." While the Bills have certainly lacked grade A talent at TE (Riemersma and Chandler were and are passable players), the primary issue is the QB problem that's plagued this franchise post-Kelly. In the Superbowl years the Bills received quality production from McKeller, Metzelaars, and even Butch Rolle (in goal line situations). Bledsoe, who had a terrific TE in NE in Ben Coates, was able to utilize his TE (Riemersma) effectively during his stint here. The rest of the sordid lot of QBs we've had haven't suffered due to the lack of quality talent at TE as much as they've been hampered by their own lack of talent. A great QB can make an average TE look like a world-beater- remember Joe Montana making John Frank look like an all-pro at times, or Dan Marino converting countless third-down passes to Jim Jensen (not a true TE but used like one). Maybe it's actually "The Curse of the Abhorrent Bills Quarterback."
  21. When did Yahoo start posting articles from bleacherreport.com?
  22. These two busts rank right up there
  23. Littman and Overdorf have spent the last 24 hours pouring over the CBA looking for a loophole that would allow the Bills to start the season with fewer than 53 players. They should realize it's a futile effort- if there was one, Mike Brown in Cincy would have found it by now.
