Goodell held the power of re-instatement over Vick. If Vick didn't do as Goodell suggested, then maybe Goodell decides that he is not ready for his "conditional" to turn into FULL reinstatement.

Kyle Williams 5yr/$35 milllion with $20 mil guaranteed.....lock him up.

#1- Goodell gave Vick the best possible advice he could for him as an individual. #2- Goodell acted in the best interest of the LEAGUE !! it was simply better for all involved to ease mike back into the game by playing backup for awhile and not immediately being thrusted into the limelight with a starting role somewhere else. PETA and others would have made a huge protest resulting in tremendous negative publicity on the NFL. does it suck for buffalo...YES !!....Mike Vick is arguably the single most exciting and entertaining player in the entire league. as a person he is a piece of ****.

Mallett, Kolb among QBs who shined in preseason debut.. The Patriots' Ryan Mallett is the steal of the draft. The rookie had a sensational debut performance against the Jaguars. Mallett completed 12 of 19 passes for 164 yards with one touchdown on his way to leading the Patriots to two scores in his four possessions. Although he worked against the second-team defense, his pocket poise and awareness were exceptional for a first-year player. He routinely found the safety valve or hot read against blitz pressure and seemed undaunted by the free rushers in his face. Mallett also showed exceptional arm strength, accuracy and touch on intermediate throws. He repeatedly delivered the ball on time, and his decisiveness indicates his quick mastery of the system. thought i would bump some good news to top...... LaCanfora confirmed to WGR that the Bills, according to his sources, want to make Williams "among the highest paid defensive tackles in the game." This would be Williams' third new contract in the last five years.
