  6. Getting under the salary cap wasn't much of a problem for NFL teams before the uncapped year of 2010. The cap was going up $7 million a year. Many teams stayed to their budgets and had excess cap room. At the end of the 2009 season, 32 teams had $163 million of unused cap space. Once the collective bargaining agreement is signed and the league is up and operating, teams have to return to the days of getting under the cap. The 2011 cap is going to be at $120 million, and there figure to be several cap casualties, particularly because the 2009 cap was at $128 million. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6786350/reggie-bush-potential-cap-casualties
  7. you could call and inquire about purchasing season tickets......ask if you could come to the ralph and "sit" in the seats to check out the view/site lines.....you could get a look at the field then......no way in heck they let you on the field during installation.
  8. Mendenhall is seeking more than $1 million in damages according to NBC's Darren Rovell, who writes that the 24-year-old could win the suit because his contract with Champion did not have a morals clause, which would provide for rightful termination under these circumstances. The suit reads, "This case involves the core question of whether an athlete employed as a celebrity endorser loses the right to express opinions simply because the company whose products he endorses might disagree with some (but not all) of those opinions." http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/07/rashard-mendenhall-sues-sponsor-after-termination-for-bin-laden-tweets/1

  13. i think the Takeo Spikes comparison is perfect....i'm not expecting much from merriman this coming season due to injury, i do think he will be a productive starter next season.
  14. will probably "re-injure" something at his first practice and not play a single down for the entire season.
  15. we are getting close to a deal...... There is a growing belief inside league circles that the NFL and NFL Players Association will have an agreement in place that can be ratified during the July 21 league meetings in Atlanta, according to sources familiar with the state of negotiations. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6756301
  16. NEW YORK (AP) — The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday threw out a judge's order lifting the NFL lockout, handing the league a victory as players and owners returned to negotiations. The court vacated an April 25 decision by U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson that the lockout should be lifted because players were suffering irreparable harm. The appeals court had already put that order on hold and said in its ruling that Nelson ignored federal law in reaching her decision. http://news.yahoo.com/appeals-court-backs-lockout-tosses-judges-ruling-144417645.html
  17. boycotts are the only way this team moves out of town......any and all boycoots against attending a bills game is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
  18. MINNEAPOLIS -- While NFL owners and players appear to be inching toward a resolution of the league's lengthy lockout, a group of retired players is clamoring to be more involved in the discussions. The group filed a class-action complaint against the owners and current players in federal court Monday, saying they have been excluded from the mediation sessions taking place in an attempt to end the lockout. Named plaintiffs including Hall of Famers Carl Eller, Franco Harris, Marcus Allen and Paul Krause are asking U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson to put a halt to the mediation she ordered and declare that the current players cannot negotiate on behalf of those who are retired. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8209c937/article/retired-players-ask-court-to-involve-them-more-in-labor-talks?module=HP_headlines

  20. does this impress you ? The Buffalo Bills say their annual excursions to Toronto are helping to grow their fan base in Southern Ontario. Bills Chief Executive Officer Russ Brandon told a crowd of fans Monday that the team continues to see concrete positive results from the five-year, eight-game deal it signed with Rogers Communications in 2008. "After three years of that experience, we've had a 44 percent increase in season-ticket holders from Southern Ontario to One Bills Drive," Brandon said. "That's been the key, how the fans come from there, back to Ralph Wilson Stadium, come to our community and keep our organization viable and strong. That is the key to that relationship." http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/128503-toronto-deal-paying-off-for-bills/page__p__2133922__fromsearch__1#entry2133922
