  1. GET WELL SOON......THEY MISSED YA..... Peyton Manning collects roster bonus: While Peyton Manning's playing status for 2011 remains uncertain after his third neck surgery in 19 months, his paychecks will keep coming. Manning collected a $3 million roster bonus as of 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, as the Indianapolis Colts had not placed him on season-ending injured reserve. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6957652/peyton-manning-indianapolis-colts-collects-3-million-roster-bonus

Gailey-Fitz chemistry makes offense a gas by Jerry Sullivan http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/jerry-sullivan/article553700.ece "Experience has taught us the perils of overreacting to one game, or two or four. But I have to admit, this one feels different to me, too. You can't watch a team dominate on the road, against a defending divisional champion, and not come away with the sense that things might finally be starting to look up for the Bills."
  4. WOW !!! .....AMAZING !!!!!
  5. add Bill Cowher to the list....he picked Buffalo in the upset segment of the CBS pregamw show.
  6. INDIANAPOLIS — Peyton Manning's doctors say his third neck surgery in 19 months went "very well, without complication" and that his prognosis for recovery is good. Father and son doctors Robert Watkins Sr. and Robert Watkins Jr., who performed Thursday's surgery, issued the statement Friday. The surgery was performed at Marina Del Rey Hospital in California. Manning's previous two surgeries were at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago. Read more: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2011-09-10/doctors-mannings-surgery-went-very-well#ixzz1Xa2TcLuL
  7. Now that the NFL is back on the gridiron, who are the players with the most endorsement firepower? Drew Brees and Peyton Manning are, according to new data from Omnicom Group's promotional agency, Dallas-based The Marketing Arm. http://www.mediapost...&art_aid=158257

  10. duly noted....guess we'll have fun playing armchair GM....i actually hope you're right.
  11. it's a hold.... will get plenty of time to prove otherwise.....but not looking good....in two years will be considered a bust.
  12. Per a league source, that new five-year, $90 million contract was given to Manning without the quarterback having to pass a physical. In other words, he got $20 million to sign, and the Colts didn’t insist on obtaining medical clearance that he can play before giving it to him. (He eventually passed a physical before being cleared to practice last week — before suffering the setback that caused the latest procedure.) With the Colts choosing to keep Manning on the active roster, he’ll also pocket his $3.4 million base salary for the new season, along with a $3 million roster bonus tied to Manning being on the 53-man roster for any one game in 2011. The next question, if Manning can’t play in 2011, becomes whether the Colts would pay him a $28 million option bonus, which is due early in the next league year. The Colts can avoid the payment only by cutting or trading Manning, and it would be shocking — actually, beyond shocking — if the team would sever ties with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/08/manning-got-his-new-deal-without-having-to-pass-a-physical/
  13. a glimmer of good news.... expert surgeon says Manning very likely to return (NOT career ending). Dr. Wellington K. Hsu, an assistant professor at Northwestern University with a joint appointment in the department of orthopaedic surgery and department of neurological surgery, spoke with NFL.com on Thursday to shed light on the path facing Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, who's recovering from his third neck procedure in 19 months. Dr. Hsu has been recognized as an international leader in the operative treatment of cervical and lumbar degenerative disorders, motion-sparing technology and spinal cord injuries, and he has published a number of studies focused on NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL players. This is a pretty common surgery in professional and NFL players, and they do better than what many people think. I've heard people say it's really hard to get back from a neck injury, how if you have surgery, you don't come back, but that's simply not true. I think Peyton, being the stalwart that he is, playing the position that he does, has a very, very good prognosis for coming back. http://www.nfl.com/n..._headline_stack

  15. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning had further neck surgery Thursday, sources familiar with the situation said. Manning decided to have the surgery, the sources said, after consultation with a half-dozen doctors who reached a consensus that the most viable option would be a one-level cervical neck fusion in the wake of his May 23 surgery to repair a bulging disk. It's unclear whether Manning would be able to return to play this season. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6944302/indianapolis-colts-peyton-manning-more-surgery-neck-sources-say
  16. Manning is expected to have surgery, miss “significant time” With rampant rumors and reports regarding the status of quarterback Peyton Manning, a source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Manning could have neck surgery as soon today, and that he will miss “significant time” as he recovers. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/08/manning-is-expected-to-have-surgery-miss-significant-time/
  17. The news about Peyton Manning’s injury is going to get worse before it gets better. The latest from Colts information director/owner Jim Irsay, via Twitter: “NFL Season opens 2nite!We had a good practice yesterday and r guys r fired up 4 the season.#18′s out for awhile, but compete,we will/BELIEVE,” Irsay wrote. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/08/colts-owner-peyton-manning-will-be-out-awhile/
  18. This roster is a crumbling monument to neglect and bad personnel moves. A decade of weak drafts and frugal ownership has left the Bills with a roster that’s sorely lacking in established players in their professional primes. The Bills have very little to show for their drafts in the mid-2000s. Lee Evans was the last of the ’04 class to go (George Wilson was undrafted). Roscoe Parrish is the only player left from ’05, Kyle Williams the last man standing from ’06. The entire ’07 draft class has departed. It’s close to a lost generation of young talent. Four position players on this roster have started 30 games in a Buffalo uniform. Kelsay has stared 104, McGee 84, Williams 73. Then it drops down to that grizzled old vet, Andy Levitre, with 32. People talk about the Bills rebuilding. You can’t rebuild something that wasn’t constructed in the first place. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article548934.ece
  19. the bills will be picking a franchise QB or LT.......but i agree Blackmon looks special.....saw a mock draft that had him rated the 2nd best WR in next years draft to Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina (never heard of em).
  20. The biggest winners are high-revenue team owners who will see their revenue sharing payments to their low-revenue rivals drop. In part this explains why the value of the top 10 teams rose 4% on average. There is a growing divide between the rich and poor NFL franchises (poor being a relative term as all 32 teams rank among the 50 most valuable sports teams in the world). Supplemental revenue sharing payments to low revenue teams under the old CBA were expected to rise to $220 million with high rolling teams like the Cowboys, Washington Redskins (No. 2, worth $1.55 billion) and New England Patriots (No. 3, worth $1.4 billion) supplying much of the welfare and on the hook for more than $10 million apiece. Under the new CBA, the amount any big market teams will have to kick into the system is capped at $3.5 million. Low revenue teams will receive only $50 million to $100 million collectively in the early years of the deal according to NFL estimates. Leaguewide revenues are expected to increase to the point where supplemental revenue sharing almost disappears by the end of the new 10-year CBA. The new CBA hurts teams at the bottom of the financial pyramid as well because beginning in 2013, teams must spend 89% of the salary cap in cash or be subject to penalties. Keeping a lid on player costs allowed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be football’s fourth most profitable teams over the past five years. The Bucs’ player costs were $35 million lower than any other team during that time and $150 million less than the Cowboys. The Chiefs, Bills and Bengals have also kept spending in check fattening up the bottom line. That is not an option anymore. While the value of the top teams is up, the bottom 10 stayed flat on average. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbadenhausen/2011/09/07/the-nfls-most-valuable-teams/
  21. i wonder if he hyperextended his left knee by resorting to his old habit of bending it to gain leverage trying to push Jasper out of the way ??..... someone in another thread said Troup was Horrible....but he looked pretty good against detroits backups....(sarcasm).
  22. Now, another Indianapolis radio host is upping the ante. Jake Query of WNDE, citing two unnamed sources whom he trusts, reports that Manning already has had another procedure on his neck, and that he’ll miss the entire 2011 season. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/07/indy-radio-host-says-manning-will-miss-entire-season/
  23. any owner who wanted to maximize revenue ??.....For the record, Forbes reported the team's total operating income at $28.2 million in 2010. Broken down, that's about $4 million per game, as opposed to about $12.5 million per Toronto regular season game.
  24. but we are trending up...
  25. but i do see the next agreement being 2 regular season home games in Toronto (with or without an 18 game schedule)and for 10 years in length.
