The biggest winners are high-revenue team owners who will see their revenue sharing payments to their low-revenue rivals drop. In part this explains why the value of the top 10 teams rose 4% on average. There is a growing divide between the rich and poor NFL franchises (poor being a relative term as all 32 teams rank among the 50 most valuable sports teams in the world). Supplemental revenue sharing payments to low revenue teams under the old CBA were expected to rise to $220 million with high rolling teams like the Cowboys, Washington Redskins (No. 2, worth $1.55 billion) and New England Patriots (No. 3, worth $1.4 billion) supplying much of the welfare and on the hook for more than $10 million apiece. Under the new CBA, the amount any big market teams will have to kick into the system is capped at $3.5 million. Low revenue teams will receive only $50 million to $100 million collectively in the early years of the deal according to NFL estimates. Leaguewide revenues are expected to increase to the point where supplemental revenue sharing almost disappears by the end of the new 10-year CBA. The new CBA hurts teams at the bottom of the financial pyramid as well because beginning in 2013, teams must spend 89% of the salary cap in cash or be subject to penalties. Keeping a lid on player costs allowed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be football’s fourth most profitable teams over the past five years. The Bucs’ player costs were $35 million lower than any other team during that time and $150 million less than the Cowboys. The Chiefs, Bills and Bengals have also kept spending in check fattening up the bottom line. That is not an option anymore. While the value of the top teams is up, the bottom 10 stayed flat on average. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbadenhausen/2011/09/07/the-nfls-most-valuable-teams/

i wonder if he hyperextended his left knee by resorting to his old habit of bending it to gain leverage trying to push Jasper out of the way ??..... someone in another thread said Troup was Horrible....but he looked pretty good against detroits backups....(sarcasm).

Now, another Indianapolis radio host is upping the ante. Jake Query of WNDE, citing two unnamed sources whom he trusts, reports that Manning already has had another procedure on his neck, and that he’ll miss the entire 2011 season. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/07/indy-radio-host-says-manning-will-miss-entire-season/ -

The Colts have taken a dramatically different course, announcing on Monday that Manning won’t practice this week, and that he likely will be listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/05/colts-say-manning-is-doubtful-for-sunday/ -

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is being re-evaluated by several doctors because of the slow progress in his rehab from offseason neck surgery, according to sources familiar with his medical condition. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6931858/peyton-manning-neck-being-re-evaluated-doctors-sources-say -

i'm laffin....troup had 1 solo tackle and one assisted tackle against detroit's 2nd & 3rd stringers.....and this was by far his best game, which is not saying much. i said McCargo wouldn't make it in this league and he hung around for 5 years. So Troup is safe for awhile. he is listed as our #2 NT on the depth chart and it will stay that way, otherwise buddy has to admit he made a mistake. Troup won't see much action anyways except on special teams. but when he does come in on defense (less than 10 plays a game) just watch him get manhandled. i know i'll be watching.
-
i think Andrew Luck will be a stud.
-
be happy it's not steve tasker and ray bentley.
-
i like Fitz, the job he's done coming in midseason the last two years is remarkable. i myself think he's about the 20th best QB in the nfl, not the recent 27th ranking espn gave him. having said that, if we have a shot at a franchise QB next year, i think we should grab him. Jamarcus Russell is worse than horrible, he is a complete bust. Troup is in no jeopardy of getting cut, no way buddy admits he made a mistake this early.....i mean look how long McCargo held on. i'm just sayin, i think Troup is horrible and very unlikely to get better.
-
BUBBLE 1. Troup, Torell NT 6-3 32623 2 Central Florida 97 2. Moats, Arthur LB 6-2 24923 2 James Madison 54 3. Coleman, Antonio LB 6-1 25425 2 Auburn 60 4. Heard, Kellen DT 6-6 34625 1 Memphis 73 i don't think Troup is in any jeopardy of not making this team, even tho i'm dogging him in another thread. no way does nix admit this early he made a mistake with his first 2nd round pick. sticking with some lesser names...... i like DT Heard alot, hope he sticks. i like the WR Aiken alot, hope he sticks.
-
that was a mental error by Hairston.....which can be fixed much easier that a lack of physical talent.....on run plays Hairston got good push....as far as biased goes....i am absolutely convinced that Troup is not going to make it in this league...it was obvious to me last year and it is obvious to me based on two home games this year. could he prove me wrong, of course, but i doubt it. as far as Hairston goes, i thought he looked good, first time i ever watched him, i think his future looks bright.
-
isolating on one player is what i like to do at games. i'm a +25 year season ticket holder. when the play is over , i look at the jumbotron for a replay of the big picture. i always DVR the game and watch it later for the normal perspective. as far as looking at other players, on defense NO, it's just too hard trying to follow more than one player per play, but on offense i watched the LT Hairston the whole game, he did not start (Bell did) but got in the game very early and looked really good. his future looks bright.
-
what am i gonna say to the media now ?
-
he was absolutely NOT effective with the ones.....i isolated on him with binoculars on every single play. he got zero push and was easily handled one on one, which is how they blocked him most of the time. did he get double teamed a couple times? yes.....did he make a couple plays against the scrubs later in game? yes (one near safety in particular).....but kyle williams did not play.....Troup got alot of action early on and only came out (with Andra Davis) in obvious passing situations. against the first string he played horrible. he was a complete bust last year and he doesn't look much better this year. i know the faithful will want to give him time to develop, but just like McCargo and Maybin, it doesn't look good for Troup.
-
i isolated and watched every move/play when he was on the field. he gets absolutely no push.....he's not gonna make it in this league....heck, Kellen Heard played better than Troup.....troup did make two nice plays later in the game against the third stringers, but when he was in early against the starters, he did nothing. i don't care what he did in the off season, he looks weak. the only positive thing i saw, was a technique issue change from last year, where he has stopped the bending of his left knee, which put all of his weight on his right side. he now attempts leverage in a balanced stance, but he still gets zero push.

Hairston to play some LT vs Lions
papazoid replied to Disgusted ills fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
watched Hairston alot at LT....he did not start (Bell did). i thought Hairston played well, i was surprised. looked like all the trouble was coming from the right side.
