  1. RIP, condolences to his family and friends. One of the greats
  2. I call BS on the arm strength argument, he hit T.O. multiple times, accuracy and touch came into play more than his arm strength with those INT's yesterday.
  3. If Lloyd went for 6th or 5th depending on his production, no way way it costs a 4th for Eddie Royal, who has been hurt all year and has only a couple catches. I would have been more than happy to part with a 5th for Lloyd.
  4. Odd move for St. Louis, picking up a free-agent to be on a 0-5 team. Seems to fly in the face of rebuilding unless they think want him long-term and getting his rights now gives them a jump on other teams.
  5. He is a rental player who is playing for his next big contract. If he is a cancer, you cut him and lose a 3rd or 4th round pick. That is worst case scenario. If he comes here and plays anywhere near his current play then the Bills are a better team. I love Naaman but he shouldn't be our starting #2 receiver. Reward outweighs risk in my opinion.
  6. Your post makes too much sense! I couldn't agree more with regard to him being better than Martin or even Donald Jones when healthy. We love to run the spread, putting Stevie with Wayne, Jones and Nelson would be a hell of a receiving core. The Colts would be smart to get a pick for him this year knowing they aren't a playoff team and resigning once they know Manning is healthy.
  7. Buddy Nix came to his defense and said he had a great work ethic. He implied even though he put in the work he still wasn't good enough and didn't know where Maybin would fit on defense with his body type. New England should sign Ed Wang to handle this Maybin threat, Wang looked all-world in practice against Maybin.
  8. I disagree with your view, I think Chan could have used a timeout with 8 or 9 seconds left and saved enough time for a kickoff, odds are against anything happening but at least it's a chance.
  9. He should make more money than his backup and 3rd string. Extending him now is the right thing to do. It sounds like Stevie and the Bills are far off on a contract so you will probably need to tag him next offseason. Can't franchise both, so signing Fitz to an extension eliminates the possibility of ending up having to pick one over the other. Not to mention we are under the cap by a lot and it's not like they can't design it like McNabb's last year where it is easy to part ways if you want.
  10. The Bills are ranked 27 and ranked below the Chiefs!!! We beat them by 34 points on the road yet still are considered 6 spots below them. Doesn't make sense, not that most rankings do.
  11. I was watching the pregame show on the NFL Network and during their bold prediction segment, Warren Sapp predicted the Bills will dominate the Chiefs. He said the Bills will show they are for real with Kyle Williams, Dareus (sp) and Lights Out Merriman. Nice to hear something good from a national media member, GO BILLS
  12. If the down boy is a dog reference, it is a collie, not colie. Considering Buddy Nix has had only two drafts, I don't see how relevant your point is with regard to 4th round picks who have historically performed poorly. Last years 4th was Marcus Easley, who has shown potential and this year he selected Searcy and Hairston, neither have looked bad and could be important parts of the team in the near future. I just don't value Lee Evans as much as you do. I think Gailey wants his players to do things his way and he may have used Evans as an example of what happens if you don't block downfield or run underneath routes. I think with our line in it's current shape wouldn't provide Fitzpatrick the time for deep patterns to develop, which Lee excelled at. For this offense, I can see how Donald Jones, who is a bigger body and aggressive blocker, would be a better fit. I am new to the board, so I apologize for questioning your loyalties, discussion is a good thing.
  13. Sorry, I used the spelling from the poster I was replying to. Please forgive me.
  14. The Steelers didn't cut Heinz Ward because he runs all the patterns and is one of the elite blocking wideouts in the league. Lee Evans did neither well. Why come here if you hate the Bills so much, you must enjoy playing devil's advocate and annoying fans who want to wait to at least the first game before we label this team as terrible.
  15. I am one of those people who think Jerry Sullivan doesn't know what he is talking about or at the very least is premature in his assessment of a team that is yet to play a regular season game. Maybe I am naive but I think trading Lee Evan wasn't a cost-cutting move. I think Chan expects his receivers to block and run crossing patterns. Buddy Nix has commented that Lee did not excel at either, which is why he was a bad fit for our offense. His numbers from the last two years were not elite. I think Chan Gailey has designed an offense with specific roles for each player and Lee was not a fit in his system. They knew and so did Lee, instead of forcing a squared peg in a round hole they let him go to a team that he fit schematically. Maybe you are right but lets see what happens the first game before we make judgments on how poorly this team is constructed. Jerry Sullivan goes through the motions and should just retire and play stratomatic baseball. Pretty soon he will post his yearly column on how he meets his old friend at the bar who is a long-suffering Bills fan and still believes. Mike Schopp and Jerry should just morph into one negative entity.
