at this point i'd take dalton..... fitz has zero upside....average qb (current rank #18) who throws a horrible deep ball. dalton has huge upside.....above average qb (current rank #12) who throws a great deep ball.

i get it, drafting a QB past #1 overall is a low odds crap shoot... but trading for or signing a proven free agent is low risk....you just gotta pay the piper in the form of draft picks and/or cash. Fitzpicksix is an ok QB, whose biggest weakness is a deal killer, he throws a lousy deep ball. now try explaining away all the PROVEN QB's that changed teams during that same time period, that the bills did not act on. Kurt Warner(2005 F/A to AZ), Drew Brees(2006 F/A to N.O.), Matt Schaub (2007 for two 2's), Jay Cutler(2009 for two 1's), Mike Vick(2009 F/A to PHI), Brett Farve(2009 F/A to MIN), Matt Cassel (2009 for a 2nd, made a probowl and won div in 2010), Peyton Manning(2012 F/A to DEN), and a host of lesser names...fitz(2009), kolb, flynn, orton, palmer, hasselbeck.

our entries are almost identical... if this team goes 10-6, you would have to consider the season a success.

i know it looks like a big "IF"...... but lets say they win the next 2 games vs Arizona and Tennessee and go into the bye week at 4-3. for me, thats exactly where i predicted they would be and still with an outside shot to get a wild card spot.

there is no surprise attack(over loading from one side)......just hat on hat here we come.....that makes it easy on opposing offense.

last time i checked, buddy nix has final say over the draft, free agency, trades and the roster. chan picked Fitz over thigpen, brad smith, vince young and tavaris jackson......can't say i blame him. thru 5 games the bills have thrown 54% of the time......even though they were playing catch-up.

it's not Chan's fault that Fitz is the best QB on the roster. it's not Chan's fault that Fitz is lousy throwing a deep ball. it's not Chan's fault that once injuries hit the starting O-line, we chit the bed. the biggest problem on offense is a lack of a FRANCHISE QB. i would NOT fire Chan at this point, i think that would cause more problems than it cures. Wannstedt deserves to be fired immediately, but i would do it in two weeks during the bye week.
