  6. luckily he only ranked the "starting" qb's..... otherwise, i think #30 is a little high..... surely there are a dozen backups who are better.... fitz just can NOT throw a deep ball.....

  13. bills might be almost $27 million under the cap ? $133.9 million (adjusted cap from above) minus $120.6 equals $13.3 .....plus $13.6 (space as of 9/7) equals $26.9 million cap space as of Sep 7th....(bills $13.6 million) http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/08/team-by-team-cap-space-as-of-september-7/
  14. The per-team unadjusted salary cap this year is $120.6 million. But no team has an actual salary cap of $120.6 million. Jaguars: $148.4 million. Broncos: $147.6 million. Buccaneers: $144.1 million. Seahawks: $143.4 million. Chiefs: $141.9 million. Eagles: $138.4 million. 49ers: $137.4 million. Bills: $133.9 million. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/10/04/adjusted-cap-shows-325-million-spread-between-jags-and-redskins/
  15. in case my main point is lost in all this discussion, here it is... a franchise QB is NOT the #1 priority of this team.......i believe it should be. over the past 5 years, the bills have passed on multiple, multiple oppurtunities through trades, free agency and the draft to get a franchise QB. you point out yet another example regarding Cam Newton. the bills were absolutely going to take cam at #3 if he was there. that makes him a franchise QB in their eyes......yet they did not justify paying a premium (like the redskins recently did) to move up and guarantee getting him. that clearly shows that a franchise qb is NOT the top priority. they let the draft fall to them and went in a different direction picking a terrific player in marcel dareus.
  16. lets see... Kurt Warner left st louis in 2003 ( guess the bills were not interested). he went to the giants in 2004. but were the giants satisfied with that ?....nope, they traded the 4th pick in the draft for the 1st pick in the draft and got some guy name Eli Manning (2 super bowls already). the bills were in a similar situation recently, having the 3rd pick in the draft, they sat still and did not make a move to address the franchise QB. so, in 2005 Kurt Warner went to Arizona, where at that late stage of his washed up career, he went on to make the pro bowl and nfc conference championship in 2008. Brett Farve left Green Bay in 2007.....at that washed up late stage of his career made the pro bowl in 2008 & 2009. i guess you wouldn't even have tried to get either one.....ya know, cause it would be a waste of time trying. i'd say farve would have passed on us......but i bet kurt warner would have said yes to the bills over arizona if you showed him the money.
  17. hard to get all your thoughts out in a couple of sentences...... #1- please show me the post where i say "that our FO is the most inept in history"...... (i think buddy is above average, i'm a buddy supporter, i just wish his top priority was a franchise QB.....because that is the single most important position on a team and our biggest need). #2- please show me where i said "that all those high profile QBs would love to play here"......( i have no idea, and either does our GM until you reach out to them. i'm just saying, to the best of my knowledge, we didn't even try to bring any of them in). if your going to overpay for a defensive end....i would rather you overpay for a franchise QB. every single one of those QB's were in play and did move to another team. most athletes take the deal with the most money.
  18. it is that easy......you just need to say it's the #1 priority and pay whatever it takes..... instead of throwing $100 at Mario Williams.....throw that money at a Franchise QB.... here is a brief list of a few QB's who have hit the open market in free agency over the past 5 years: Matt Schaub, Drew Brees, Brett Farve, Jay Cutler, Mike Vick, Kurt Warner and some guy named Peyton Manning.... we wern't in on any of them (unless you believe in conspiracies that Roger Goodell block vick from coming here). not to mention all the possible QB's we could have drafted....
  19. polian called ralph's daughter a name that rhymes with punt and starts with a "c". at the time she was a top scout in the organization.
  20. invest ??.....RG III makes $5 mil/year....Fitz makes $9 mil/yr......
  21. see washington redskins.......i would make the same deal they did to move up and get a franchise QB......all they lost were #1 picks....NOT the salary cap space that goes with those unproven mid first round picks......they can use that salary cap space to sign a free agent instead.......all they did was essentially trade future #1's for future Free Agents.
