Very good assessment of the situation from TBN
papazoid replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my favorite part: The Bills are 4-7. Get this: They’ve been either 4-7 or 5-6 at this point in the season in 10 of the last 11 years. And to think, people were ready to get giddy about 5-6. Please, someone, make it stop. -

thanks for doing it...it's one of the highlights of TBD......but don't worry....0 -16 is not happening....besides, the odds of winning your contest is 1 in 65,536 .....not easy. -
he must have another undisclosed injury.....

Ndamukong Suh kicks Matt Schaub in groin....
papazoid replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson on Friday told ESPN that every form of discipline will be considered against Detriot Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh if next week's planned review of Suh's kick to the groin of Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub determines that he made the contact deliberately. "When you consider the history, everything is on the table," Anderson said. Anderson watched Thursday's Lions-Texans game in the NFL command center at the league offices in New York and said his initial reaction after seeing the play live and from various network television replay angles was that "it didn't look good." http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8665278/ndamukong-suh-history-considered-review-contact-next-week-nfl-executive-says -
Ndamukong Suh kicks Matt Schaub in groin....

NFL executive V.P. of football operations Ray Anderson thought it looked suspicious. Anderson told Mike Florio on the Dan Patrick Show that he was concerned by what he saw, but the NFL has a process for player discipline, and until the league goes through that process it’s too soon to say whether Suh kicked Schaub on purpose and would therefore be fined or suspended. “It appeared to be a little out of the ordinary, let’s just say,” Anderson said. “It didn’t appear to be a natural football move, but we’ll withhold judgment until we see all the angles.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/23/nfls-ray-anderson-says-suhs-kick-was-out-of-the-ordinary/ -
100% agree

make it 5 first round picks.....whitner, mccargo, lynch, mckelvin and maybin..... reminder....just because you traded away a future first round pick, doesn't mean you wound up with nothing.....you still have that salary cap space to spend on a proven free agent.

we still have punting.....

here is last years famous "stomp" excuse..... "My intention was not to kick anybody, as I did not, removing myself," he said. "I was on top of a guy, being pulled down, and trying to get up off the ground -- and why you see me pushing his helmet down, because I'm trying to remove myself from the situation, and as I'm getting up, I'm getting pushed, so I'm getting myself on balance." -
Andrew Luck is a future Hall of Famer.... too soon ?

i look at this another way..... first round draft picks are risky and over rated.... i look at a first round draft pick as a $5 million "cap slot".....they did NOT lose the cap space, it is still available to use on a PROVEN free agent....they only lost the right to use that cap space on an unproven rookie.

At a time when the NFL is so concerned about player safety, why does the league continue to have conversion kicks? Since the start of the 2009 season, all but 22 of 3,186 extra points have been converted, according to Elias Sports Bureau. That's 99.3 percent. This doesn't get in the way of the two-point conversion rule. The rule can simply be amended to say that a team can opt for one point automatically or choose to go for two, getting only six points for a touchdown if a two-point attempt fails. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--direct-snap--nfl-should-eliminate-pat-kicks-212235294.html

the point being made...is that buddy started with very little. on the flip side...one could argue...we still have very little. currently, i would expect kyle williams, jairus byrd and mckelvin will be alternates. all good points...

one example would be ZERO STARTERS in the AFC Pro Bowl for 2010.

Poz had an offer from buffalo, but chose to leave because at the time Jax was in the 4-3 defense and buffalo was in a 3-4. he reasoned he would be more productive if protected by the extra d-lineman. lil donte was over rated.
-
in addition, i also think he gets major props for signing mario williams.....debunking the theory that big name free agents won't sign here....i fully expect, once healthy, that mario will be a VERY productive player. i think nix deserves somewhat of a pass because of the complete lack of talent he inherited. on the downside, i think torell troup and aaron williams are BIG misses in the second round.
