  1. Long and short of it, going deep is a problem. Fitzpatrick has hit just seven passes this season that traveled more than 20 yards down field. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121214/SPORTS/121219453/1004
  2. there is a better chance of BOTH #2 & #3 happening then there is #1....
  3. the bills are better than they were 3 years ago..... the problem is.....so are about 25 other teams....
  4. the bills are better than they were 3 years ago..... the problem is.....so are about 25 other teams....
  5. team A plays three games ALL in inclement weather... teams B,C & D play only one game each in inclement weather and each play two in nice weather..... who has the advantage ?
  6. Bills CEO Russ Brandon said that based on last year’s "demographic studies and the current ticket-selling trend, Southern Ontario has 'inched past' Rochester to become the team’s secondary market," according to Sal Maiorana of the ROCHESTER DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE. Brandon was "quick to point out that Rochester is 'light years' ahead of Southern Ontario in terms of suite sales and corporate sponsorship platforms, and season and individual game ticket sales in the Rochester region continue to increase," but just "not as fast, recently, as in Southern Ontario." He added that the spike in ticket sales in Southern Ontario "is directly attributable to the regionalization push the franchise made with the Bills Toronto Series." http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2012/04/24/Franchises/Bills.aspx?hl=Marketing%20and%20Sponsorship&sc=0
  7. what is certain....is that if it has happened before....it can happen again.... what is certain....is without including the southern ontario market, buffalo is almost the smallest NFL market.... what is certain....is without including the southern ontario market, we would have an even more difficult task of selling out seats. now, i personally don't think the Bills will relocate..... BUT ONLY because they have smartly and aggressively marketed to southern ontario....positioning themselves from a small market to a large market team, which is appealing to the other NFL owners. i absolutely believe that without that effort, we would be at a far greater risk of relocation...in fact i believe relocation would be inevitable. Forbes says the Bills are valued at about $800 million.....just by moving to L.A. the valuation would double to $1.6 Billion. does anyone think a $200 million early lease termination penalty fee is going to stop an L.A. group from bidding ?
  8. no one can say with certainty that an NFL franchise will not relocate....it is FACT that 6 have done so in the last 30 years.... Oakland Raiders: to Los Angeles in 1982 Baltimore Colts: to Indianapolis in 1984 St. Louis Cardinals: to Tempe, Arizona as the Phoenix Cardinals in 1988 and became the Arizona Cardinals in 1994 Los Angeles Rams: to St. Louis in 1995 Los Angeles Raiders: back to Oakland in 1995 Houston Oilers: temporarily to Memphis in 1997 as the Tennessee Oilers and permanently to Nashville in 1998 (renamed Tennessee Titans in 1999) there are over 10,000 canadian fans and growing that care, buy tickets and attend games at the ralph.... there are folks in WNY who hate the bills......so it's not surprising there are folks in canada who do to. football is not for everyone.....but by every measure, from a marketing point of view, the bills in toronto series is a success... as far as any complaining of perceived competitive disadvantage by playing in front of a quiet toronto crowd....hasn't attended december home games at the ralph.
  9. send that pick to San Diego for Phillip Rivers....
  10. Buffalo ties tighter bond with Toronto interests.. The Southern Ontario marketplace has more than 9 million residents, compared to slightly less than 1 million in Erie and Niagara counties “We have this tendency to underestimate ourselves,” Brian Higgins said. “Canadians look at Buffalo and see nothing but value and opportunities.” The ties that bind Buffalo and Toronto go well beyond sports. At the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, nearly 40 percent of the annual 5.3 million outbound passengers hail from Southern Ontario. At the Niagara Falls International Airport, the number of Canadians flying out is close to 80 percent. Major shopping centers such as Walden Galleria rely on Canadian shoppers who account for more than 60 percent of mall sales on the weekends. The Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA estimates Canadians make up as much as 70 percent of its weekend customer base. Several Canadian firms have chosen Buffalo for their U.S. base of operations. The Buffalo Sabres attribute as much as 20 percent of season-ticket holders to Southern Ontario, mostly from St. Catharines to Niagara Falls. the Toronto Blue Jays signed a player development pact with the Buffalo Bisons. Bills CEO Russ Brandon said the team derives as much as 18 percent of the season ticket base from Southern Ontario. http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/print-edition/2012/09/28/buffalo-ties-tighter-bond-with-toronto.html
  11. not only will the series continue.....once the NFL goes to an 18 game regular season....there will be 2 regular season games in T.O.
  12. with Toronto we are the 4th largest market in the NFL.... without Toronto, we will be the 2nd largest market in Los Angeles......
  13. Tags did a masterful job of handling this case.....where he rightly takes issue with goodell was that when something that is percieved as wrong (bounties/money on the board incentives) that have permeated football for decades.....that goodell should have given the players a lengthy warning time period to end said behavior....before coming down with the penalty hammer...just like previous commisioners have done.
  14. Goodell's mistake was saying the bounty pool was an "intent to injure" incentive, instead of a performance pool. just to high of a threshold to actually prove in a court of law that the intent was to injure fellow players.....(even though that is exactly what is was). Drew Brees, Jonathan Vilma and Greg Williams ( you can add in head coach and GM) are all pieces of chit. Tagliabue "The decisions have made clear that the Saints operated a bounty program in violation of league rules for three years, that the program endangered player safety, and that the commissioner has the authority under the CBA to impose discipline for those actions as conduct detrimental to the league. "Strong action was taken in this matter to protect player safety and ensure that bounties would be eliminated from football." http://espn.go.com/n...ounty-penalties
  15. we're third...We Try Harder ?
  16. the league is full of players who didn't stay with their original team and are thriving on another team....
  17. i blame Chan's play calling more than i blame Fitz... vs St Louis, Fitz attempted 33 passes......actually 38 cause he was sacked 5 times... bills now 5 - 22 when over 30 attempts.... bills are 11 - 4 when under 30 attempts...
  18. Theory why we did not draft a QB ? because Buddy sticks to drafting Best Available Player......
  19. hope no one is forgetting it freed up $7.75 mil/yr in Cap space.... so we traded Lynch for a 4th, 6th & Free Agent to be named later... 3/4/2012: Signed a four-year, $31 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed, including a $6 milling signing bonus and all of Lynch's first- and second-year base salaries. Another $1 million is available through incentives in the final two years based on 1,500-yard rushing seasons. 2012: $4 million, 2013: $7 million, 2014: $5 million (+ $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2015: $5.5 million (+ $2 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2016: Free Agent
  20. Chan is a complete waste of time.... I'd rather start all over with a new coaching staff...
  21. Fitz attempted 33 passes... bills now 5 - 22 when over 30 attempts.... CJ had 8 touches... Freddy had 14 touches.... Chan is only outsmarting himself......
  22. NFL will consider other kickoff changes in offseason: NFL executive V.P. of football operations Ray Anderson tells NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the powers-that-be also will discuss moving the kickoff point another five yards forward, to the 40. (Last year, kickoffs were moved from the 30 to the 35.) The other proposal would entail the placement of a weight limit on kickoff and kick-return teams. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/09/nfl-will-consider-other-kickoff-changes-in-offseason/
