Did they ever clean up that radioactive waste from WWII? I think it leaked in the water table.

I knew a Hindu Indian that taught English to diplomats kids in Kabul in the late 70s (before the USSR came in). He would go to parties on Embassy Row in Kabul on Friday nights (the Muslim holy day), The Islamic diplomats were the biggest drunks out of all the diplomats. The holy police were all in Mosque on Friday evenings.

Go to Best Buy and buy an antenna. $30. Watch over the air on whatever station broadcasts the preseason games in Rochester. I get 45 stations over the air in Buffalo. -

"See, there are three kinds of people: d**ks, pu**es and a**holes. Pu**ies think everyone can get along and d**ks just want to f**k all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your a**holes. And all the a**holes want is to sh*t all over everything. So pu**es may get mad at d**ks once in a while because, pu**es get f**ked by d**ks. But d**ks also f**k a**holes! And if they didn't f**k the a**holes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your d**k and your pu**y all covered in sh*t!" Quote from Team America

My undergrad years were 75-79. The year before I went there, the speakers bureau had two great speakers. Moe Howard of the Three Stooges and Noel Neill, Lois lane in the original Superman TV show. The tickets sold out.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Wacka replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
From BillsFanNC's post: But the image of the cluttered and dirty lab bench strikes me as funny. That looks like a chemistry lab and in no way could you successfully work with biological pathogens in such an environment. Instead they should have used the standard stock photo of a scientist working under a laminar flow hood while pipeting reddish pink culture media. Reedly is I believe is where Josh Allen went to Jr. College. That lab bench looks like mine in grad school. They should have had a lab with subdued lighting, pink and blue lights and flasks of colored water everywhere. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

My mother, brother and I all got COVID the same week. We were ALL immunized 6 months earlier. -
Back in the late 70s they had an article in The Spectrum (student newspaper we called it The Rectum) about some possible plans for the Amherst Campus that were not used. One was a giant pyramid like building with the University President's office at the top. One of the major reasons it was scrapped was because that land was a marsh in the past and it would have sunk in the ground. The academic spine is connected in the basements. I made it from Capen Hall to the Performing arts center without going outside.

I spent one night in the Ellicott Dorms. I was a commuter and was at the Ridge Lea campus at the computing center (back when you had to use punch cards and wait up to an hour for your print out). It was like 2 AM and my battery died. The intercampus bus stopped around 10 PM. Someone who was also leaving (dandy have jumper cables either) saw my dilemma and offered to give me a ride to the Amherst campus and told me I could sleep in a lounge the rest of the night. In the AM, took the bus to Ridge lea,got a jump and a new battery. The Ridge Lea campus is currently in the process of being leveled for a Costco.

She had a heart attack/stroke (maybe). This may be the most she recovers. Everyone has their own pace. I had stroke 9 years ago and could have had a fatal heart attack if the clot had gone to my heart instead of my head. I laid in the bed in the hospital and wondered if I would be anywhere near normal again. Everyone has their own pace of recovery, that is IF they recover. Luckily, I recovered almost completely. Some people don't. You would mot know I had one if you meet me in person. It took me almost a year to recover. One thing it did was make me almost immune to things upsetting me.

It was '76. I worked at my first job then. It was the year before the Blizzard of '77.

Back in March 1976, most of WNY had no power for a week, some for 2 weeks from an ice storm. We were dark for a week. Generators were almost non-existant. Luckily in my parents bedroom on the second floor, they had installed a gas wall furnace. We (parents and us 3 kids) lived up there for the week. When my dad went to use the bathroom, we would all line up to follow him after he warmed up the seat 😀. He would open the oven door and turn on the gas to warm up the downstairs a little. Of course ha would turn ir off after we were al done.

I really haven't seen anything about EV range or charge life in climates like WNY winters.we get a storm like last Christmas and your EV is sitting there for another week or more. -
The Library was on the second floor about 2 blocks south of UB (if my memory doesn't fail me). The place was lined with bookshelves. I grabbed one to see if it was real and it was. Speaking of grabbing, the bar was super packed and if you stood near the ladies room, you could grab mucho a** just by being packed against the crowd. Probably was way,way over the fire code. MightyTaco on Bailey - back then no sit down, so get your food and leave. Stopped there with a friend and got my food first and waited outside on the sidewalk. This guy comes running down the sidewalk being chased by several others. The lead chaser had a piece of PVC pipe to beat him with. The chasee gets near me and tries to use me as a shield. The guy with the PVC shoves me out of the way to get to him and the group starts beating him in the middle of Bailey Avenue. Someone in the MT called the cops and as soon as the sirens started they all split. My friend comes out of MT and goes "What happened?" Wilkinson Pub- That was the bar in the Ellicott dorms. In late 1978, I remember seeing posters all over campus for Blondie playing at the Wilkinson Pub. That was less than 6 months before them hitting it big nationally.

Ship burning with 3000 cars on it. Believed to be the EV batteries that started it. 30 of age cars were TVs. Solar farm near Watertown , NY burning right now. Believed to be the storage batteries n the solar farm. May take weeks to put out -
