  1. Last year at Thanksgiving me, my sister and adult niece all came down with COVID.
  2. Sure ain't that drunk, Harris.
  3. Might not know until the instant it starts to fall. In the 2014 blizzard, we got 7 feet in South Cheektowaga, about 6 inches at the town hall (about 2 mikes away) and nothing at the airport (about 3 miles away).
  4. When the hell was the tie? The last tie I remember was the 70s or early 80s.
  5. She's 62 and looks about 75. That is what severe TDS does to you. Reduced to feeding squirrels in the backyard. THEY ARE Probably eating the spark plug wires in her car
  6. Didn't have Driver's Ed when I was in HS (71-75) but an English teacher did previously. His classroom looked out over the big lawn that extended up to Union Rd. in Cheektowaga. In the spring and fall when the windows wee open and you heard brakes squeal on Union, he would just say "Driver's Dread." Also, if he caught you chewing gum he would make you throw it out the window by saying "Go feed the snowbirds, sunshine." The lawn would babe covered with tons of seagulls. I had him for 1st period (Study Hall) and 3rd (English) one year. A gut in 1st was chewing gum and he said that. The same guy in 3rd was caught chewing gum again. He said, "What did you do ? Wrestle it back from him?" Algo had him for Senior English elective. Was ancient Mythology. He was going over the types we would review for the class. Egyptian. Greek, Norse etc. He got to Polish (which we did cover) an a girl started giggling. She was Polish and he said " Hey XXXski, want to hear a Polish myth?... You graduating." Nervous Guy on this board may remember him, Joe McHale. Just died a few years ago in his 90s.
  7. I'm a PhD in Cell and Molecular biology. Ask me about anything related to that and I will talk all day in detail about it. Ask me about other sciences and I will give an informed opinion about those but will let you know that I am not educated in them. Ask me about engineering and I am still amazed they can build all those structures. Used to suscribe to National Geographic and Scientific American until about 12 years ago. That's when politics started creeping in. Tyson is an excellent communicator but is out of his league when he talks about anything besides astrophysics. I've seen him be very average about climate change or biology. Bill Nye is an Engineer/Stand-Up Comedian that did average at both.
  8. No he can't.
  9. Herb and the Big Guy coming in the door covered with feathers and the Big Guy saying "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly"
  10. The museums in DC- so many famous things
  11. My mother was getting around ok but worse, but about as getting forgetful (nothing bad) but then broke her foot about 3-4 years before she died . Started getting a little worse. Spent about 3 weeks ib a nursing hone to recover from pneumonia. Then she started going downhill. Never walked again. Basically I think after the trauma of the Pneumonia, she basically started giving up but her body wouldn't let her.
  12. We looked into Hospice for mom for the last 8 moths of her life. She had dementia. Not saying your mom is anywhere to that stage, but it is something to consider in the future. Hopefully the Hospice by you is as good as the Ralph and Mary Wilson Hospice in Cheektowaga. Had her physician refer her to them. They evaluated her and determined that she could be seen at home. They would come every other week, then weekly and then several times a week at the end. Besides keeping tabs on her, they helped us out by teaching us how to do certain things without injuring her. They had counselors and religious pep[le available to help us cope. The social worker had to come and lay it on the line to my brother that mom was dying soon. In fact it was maybe 2 weeks before the end that he seemed to finally face facts. In the end, she died the way she wanted, at home and in her own bed at 95. Even after that they helped out. Would have called the undertaker for us if we wanted, came before the undertaker (they were only a mile away), signed the death certificate, removed all of her meds from the house. You get a hospice benefit from Medicare (at least in NY) and it didn't cost a cent. Just file this knowledge away. Hospice workers are the closest thing to Angels on earth.
  13. I wouldn't call him an old man. He's around my age, later 60s
  14. If you cant find a place, go to any bar or the one in your h\tel. The Bills game at 4:25 is the only one on CBS in the whole nation.
  15. I thought you were a little pipsqueak. I'm old enough to be your father.
  16. Well, they both infect the brain.
  17. Nine months post transplant! tomorrow. Doing monthly checkups now. Just blood and urine samples now. Looked at the incision in the mirror. Have a scar but can barely see it. Weight, BP, and glucose level creeping up. They have changed two of my BP meds to ones more kidney friendly ones. Started me on Jardiance yesterday. No, I will not ne doing commercials singing and dancing😄. The Jardiance will help my BP and be better for my kidneys. It also removes glucose from the blood. As it is also a diuretic, they took me off of the one I have been taking since the transplant. Also had a checkup at my cardiologist today. Looks good there too. Have an echocardigram scheduled next month, last one was July 2023. Feb will be one year, and then after that it will be checkups every 6 months.
  18. Found this a few minutes ago.😀
  19. Bless it's little heart.
  20. Tibsy, show us on the doll where the orange man touched you.
