  1. Festivus for the rest of us!
  2. Plus the substances that make the coffee dark get broken down. Pee is yellow due to the broken down hemoglobin from old and recycled red blood cells. When you drink a lot of water, it is almost colorless. Poop is brown partially due to broken down bile. If i drink grape pop, mine turns greenish due to the purple dye.
  3. Isn't that what Hitler said too?
  4. Had two flights where they had to go around. One was into Raleigh/Durham. The pilot said the plane ahead of us had;t cleared the runway in time. On the go-around I timed it from that point and it was 9 minutes before landing. The oyjer time was a flight from Dulles to SFO. It was a late Friday flight that was to spend the night at SFO. There were only about 30 of us on a 747. As we were over the San Mateo Bridge on the final approach (a minute or two from landing) the plane suddenly puled up and started the large circle over the SF bay. The pilot said something about a light on the panel and then we circled and landed.
  5. Springville had bright pink home basketball uniforms back in 1975, Boy did we razz them.
  6. Just checked my phone. 32 degrees! First time since January!
  7. Still not driving due to vision problems but they have been getting better. If I turn quickly, I get balance problems but not major. I weaned myself off a walker by October. No major memory or speech problems. (Ex: the guy on the Snickers commercial (Jan)). I know him but, for the life of me I can't remember his name when I want to. Just have to make lists to remember stuff, like Dr appointments or a list of my meds when I go to a new doctor. Scariest was laying in the hospital not knowing if I would be normal again .My mom is 88 so I have been helping her out by taking the dog out, shoveling off the driveway (when there is a little snow), and going downstairs to do the wash. She can still cook and does the dishes when I am out doing the drive. My brother has a friend down the street that plows the drive after work when we get more than a few inches at a time.
  8. I had one removed when I was 4 back in 1961. Have been fine with only one since then, Parents were told I couldn't play tackle football or hockey or dive from a high board (things that could injure my remaining kidney). Growing to 5'4" precluded going out for these too. My BP was up to 246/something just before my stroke in July. They said the high BP had damaged my kidney function and I go to a nephrologist now to keep an eye on it. They had to adjust my BP medsto make sure my kidney function is OK as diuretics can affect the kidneys. I have about 80-90 %of function left in the one I have.Keepung an eye on my diet too to keep salt intake low. Also loosing at least 55 lbs since last spring helps. I am also looking forward to spring so that I can walk around the neighborhood with safety (we have no sidewalks)and not freeze.
  9. Just be happy that you are here for another spring. The docs told me last July that if I hadn't gone in to the hospital (where I had a stroke) that I probably wouldn't have made it another month and had a massive stroke and /or had my remaining kidney fail. So some cold weather is nothing. It will warm up.
  10. NYT: Hillary conducted official State business on her private e-mail account — all of it http://hotair.com/archives/2015/03/02/nyt-hillary-conducted-official-state-business-on-her-private-e-mail-account-all-of-it/
  11. Although it is still below freezing (25), things are melting. Noticed a few drops coming off eaves in the sun. Shoveled about half the drive this AM and the where the ice was,it is turning to slush in the sun. Also staying light noticeably later recently. After 6 PM now! Look to that to perk yourself up. Hell, with my health problems the past year, I'm glad I'm still here to see spring approaching.
  12. Gatorman can be NK.
  13. Hurt. Won't load for me.
  14. Snow is not unheard of in mid-late March. I remember as a kid (mid-late 1960s) us having several inches on Easter Sunday (was in late march one year). I have noticed that it has been sunny the last week or so. The sun is slowly warming up the earth and the base snow on the driveway is loosening up a bit.Supposed to be 40 by Wednesday!
  15. Probably to pay for his cacher treatment.
  16. Just had the 30 for 30 installment on again this afternoon.Happened to catch it.
  17. Rode with my friend to Toledo, OH Thurs-Fri. Yesterday morning it was -17! Not the chill factor, (none because of no wind) but the actual temp.
  18. Lighten up Francis. Besides, the woman who lays Bernadette is hot and Mayaim Bialik, who plays amy is great. She really has a PHD from UCLA in Neuroscience, like her character does. She played Blossom as a teen in the early 90s.
  19. Used his instead of Clinton's.
  20. The press totally ignored stories about Chelsea Clinton getting s-faced at the DKE parties on the Stanford campus when she went there. I worked there then and she used to go every weekend and have to be helped home by her secret service bodyguards. We had an undergrad in the lab that was a member of DKE and he would give us the latest update every Monday
  21. We all go to the same heaven. The Jews just get the nicer neighborhoods.
  22. Saw him at a Cheektowaga Central HS football game back in the early 70s when he was playing for the Bills. Got his autograph back then.
  23. Watched it with the Bills Backers in theHartford, CT area where I lived back then. I remember saying that the Bills should do PI on every play in the second half because it wouldn't be as bad as the score the first. Luckily I had taped it on the VCR at home.
