  1. I've been trying to put this into perspective. It hit me Saturday that no other person (athlete/announcer/owner, etc.) in sports has given me more entertainment in my life. Not even a close second. In the back of my mind there was always this magic fantasy moment where I'd see Rick out and send him over a beer with the waitress and on his way out he'd give me a nod and I'd get to thank him in person. RIP Rick and thank you.
  2. There is a lot of luck involved in winning championships. Injuries, bad calls, off field incidents, etc. can derail. I am fairly convinced the Damar Hamlin injury and the emotional toll it took was too much for this team. I personally didn't sleep for all the days before the miracle and I'm not his friend/teammate. I just can't believe the focus required at the top level wasn't effected. The talent was able to overcome the lethargic play until Cincinnati.
  3. I'm saying in a series decaiding game, no ref is going to call a questionable penalty.
  4. This is why NHL>NFL.
  5. What is Kim's charity?
  6. Been a Bills fan so long I just couldn't dream big anyway. Love you all. Go Bills.
  7. This thread proves I am a perennial sophomore. 😁
  8. Tua doing Tua things....
  9. This is the saddest thread I've seen. They won! As Jauron said. "It's hard to win in the NFL." We lost so many games like this and now we are good enough to have an off day and still win. Relax and enjoy.
  10. Reminded me............I was at the game. Whoever was running the stats was inept. When the Bills put the first 3 up it didn't show on the scoreboard for at least 5 minutes and down and distance was often late/wrong. The stadium was amazing, the jumbotron was amazing, statisticians were poor.
  11. Just watched it. The definition of "80's" movie.
  12. I will give it to a KC couple who was watching the chiefs in a bar next to me while I was watching that dreadful Miami game who told me when their giant Mastiff dog went out to take a dump they called it a " our dog is making a football move" and I now use that regularly..........
  13. Each year my friend Andy and I sail from the south end of Sodus Bay to sodus point and watch the game at a bar. It's usually opening day. We were 3 and 0 but this year because of Monday/Thursday and then being away for dolphins and ravens, yesterday we braved ridiculous winds to go 4 and 0. You are all welcome.
  14. I have losing PTSD, so I get what the OP is saying. Getting so caught up in fandom that the football or hockey content isn't as important to protect myself from the inevitable. I expect disaster but hope for none. That's a peace I made with myself after the 3rd Superbowl loss. I also witnessed the Syracuse Orangemen win a national championship and it wasn't as big a deal as I'd made it out to be mentally after supporting them hard during the 80s and 90s. I'm in the "no matter what happens, this is fun" camp. I fear the darkness that will come if the team doesn't meet expectations.
  15. Loved it. Back in the stone age there was a really bad song with the refrain "We're going to the Superbowl, yeah we're going to the Superbowl" I sing it every pre-season even in the Jauron years. Wish I could find a recording.
  16. Negative mentors are what I call them. Learned as much about what I didn't want to be from them as I did from those I wanted to emulate. Rooting for this kid.......
  17. Manuel #1. Mostly because the regime wasted two #1s on Sammy Watkins the next year to try and prove they hadn't reached for EJ. So I look at it as two wasted #1 picks. Tell me where my logic is wrong.
  18. "It's hard to win in the NFL" Dick Jauron ☹️
