If the Bills sign Ziggy, I could see them trying to trade Lawson or maybe hold onto him. He's still on a cheap rookie contract. I think it would mean that Yarbrough would be cut. Plus letting Lawson walk as a free agent may yield a comp pick.

At the risk of being obvious, teams carry 6 WRs mainly because guys get hurt during the game. Also if a team runs a 3 WR set or 4 WR set, they get winded and need a break. The WR 6 spot is usually a return guy and doesn't see the field much as a receiver.

In Beane's post draft presser he was asked about David Sills. He had Sills on his draft board and he said there were other receivers drafted that were not on his board. He has pretty good size, 6'3 210, and he has a knack of catching contested balls. I think the WR 5 spot comes down to Sills and Duke Williams. I think Roberts will be WR 6. Brown, Beasley, Foster, and Jones the other 4 WRs.

I'm torn on this DE situation. I feel the Bills either keep Lawson or extend Hughes. Losing both at the same time is quite a predicament. If all goes well this season, the Bills won't have a high draft pick next year. The early mocks have 4 or so receivers with 1st Rd grades. My guess is Bills want to draft a WR1 next year. This would leave DE as mid 2nd pick maybe worse. I'm leaning towards extending Hughes. He's better at getting to the QB.

That Oklahoma tape is actually pretty telling. He earned every yard. Considering the talent difference between the two teams he held his own.

Singletary was interviewed on NFL Network before the draft. He sounds like a good kid who talked about being a leader. They asked him about catching balls coming out of the backfield. He said he can do it. He wasn't aksed to do it at FAU. They showed highlights of him catching balls out of the backfield during the combine. Coaches asked him to do it and he obliged. He looked pretty good.

Nice post! I see quite a few battles for the final few roster spots. The Bills have Mo Alexander as a LB does he beat out Deon Lacy/Corey Thompson? (I'm already guessing Joseph makes the roster at LB4) Does Carter beat out Bojorquez at P? Does Siran Neal survive or can Saquan Johnson beat him out at S? Not to mention who makes the starting 5 on OL and who wins out at CB2.

I think Oliver is going to blow up any concerns that you may have about him and his selection.

I think Gaines is the front runner. Familiar with McD's system, good against the run. Pretty good corner all around plus has ball hawk skills. Can he stay healthy? That is the issue.

Allen will be the starter right away unlike last year so he will work with the receivers and get the timing down. Second, Foster and Jones improved as the year progressed as well as Allen. They added Brown, speed, and Beasley who has a knack of getting open. They're experienced NFL receivers. Plus the Oline should be much improved. Run game should be better which keeps the defense off balanced. Greater chance for play action creating big plays downfield. Next draft, I believe Bills will get WR1.

It is worn out. Everywhere you turn in sports now the word "process" is used. They need to come up with a new word to wear out. It's like a radio station playing the same song too much. I do believe Beane is doing a good job and Bills are fortunate to have him as GM.

This morning I'm driving home from the store and a dog is running loose in the neighborhood. That's not good down here in Northern Virginia. So I stop and after some time grab the dog. I call the number on the dog tag. No answer. I drive the dog over to address on tag. Bang on the door. No answer. I look up over to the corner of the house and I see a big Patriots flag flying. I'm thinking no good deed goes unpunished! The neighbor comes out and says he has a key to their house. He turns around to get it. He's wearing a Ravens shirt. After a few minutes he comes back. I asked "Are you a Ravens fan?" He said "No I'm a Bills fan." I said "Really?" He looked at me like I was crazy at first. I told him I was a Bills fan. We both laughed because we both looked like hell from staying up late watching the draft. Turns out he and I started out watching Bills games at the Rock pile.

Bills had a choice between Ford and Risner and they liked Ford better. Ford was rated higher by Daniel Jeremiah on NFL Network.

I'd rather have either Darnold/Josh Allen along with OBJ and either Josh Allen Edge or Ed Oliver as opposed to Jones/Barkley/Lawrence. Really starting to believe that Beane made Gettleman look good down in Carolina.

Oliver. If they trade down, I think it's Wilkins, Lawrence, or Tillery. DT 3 technique is a big hole imo. Beane like all other GMs is blowing smoke the last few weeks.

Thanks Bandit. I too think the Bills may draft Metcalf in the first. I've been hoping all along that they'd get Oliver but it's sounding like he will be a top 5 pick. Any thoughts on what they may do in 2nd round?
