  1. You must not be very old. The Raiders were one of the winningest and most admired football franchises in the NFL until the last few years. They have won 3 Super Bowls and appeared in two others. From 1963 to 2002 they only had 7 losing seasons. They have 20 players in the hall of fame. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the idea.
  2. This. In fact, the Bills would beat a UFL all star team.
  3. Did some yardwork, cleaned my car, did laundry and played with my little boys. Now I am watching real football between Indy and Washington. The best Sunday I've had since football season started. Too bad the Bills don't have 3 or 4 bye weeks.
  4. "The Chiefs and the Bills, two perennial playoff teams..."
  5. This.
  6. Fitz is playing well under very tough circumstances. I think he is clearly a guy who can "drive the Cadillac" as Bill Parcells used to say about Drew Bledsoe in his prime. He's not Brett Favre or Peyton Manning, but you can win games with him at QB if you put quality players around him. The question is, can you win a championship without a HOF QB? Some teams have done it, but most champions have had elite QBs. So the real question, IMO, is whether the Bills think they need a HOF caliber QB to win a championship. If so, then they really should take one next season with their top overall pick. If not, then they will get better much faster by drafting at other positions. PS- Fitz stays on the team regardless.
  7. This team is beyond help. If you can't have fun by mocking their ineptitude then following the Bills would be no fun at all.
  8. Windburn from the opposing DEs blowing past him.
  9. I see this as a combination of Edwards not doing well and Jauron/Fewell being underestimated as far as their defensive teaching. But I also wonder, what exactly was the point of switching defensive schemes? Was it to expose the players on the defense as weak? It's the coach's job to put his players in a position to do well not put them in schemes where they suck. You switch to a 3-4 when you think you have better 3-4 personnel than 4-3.
  10. Imagine what he could do if he was playing behind a real OL.
  11. The offense is doing OK because of Fitzpatrick (who most people are still calling to be replaced asap), not the OL. Wood has been very shaky and the Bills have been sitting him for periods of the game. The problem is that the other options are not doing much better. Nevertheless, you are correct. The defense is a bigger problem right now.
  12. No they don't. They almost beat New Orleans last week. The Bills haven't looked capable of beating anybody yet this year.
  13. Too bad. I think it's more likely that Ralph brings Tom Donahoe back.
  14. This. It seems obvious to me right now, but the season is still early and the priorities may be adjusted between now and the end of the year. The Bills are too bad to force anything at any position. Except for RB and DB, they really are almost in a pure "best player available regardless of position" situation for every pick in every round.
  15. Forget the run, the Bills have been incompetent defending the pass as well. This was the second ranked pass defense in the NFL last season. The Bills do not have a high talent level, but Jauron and Fewell got far more from these guys than Edwards has. That doesn't reflect well on Edwards and his defensive staff.
  16. 1. The Jags just came off a big emotional victory against Indy and have another big division game against Tennessee next week. The Bills are 0-4 and just got smoked. It is likely that the Jags will not be as ready for this game as the others. 2. The Bills just got embarrassed last week. They are going to prepare hard and come out with a lot of emotion against Jacksonville. That will last as long as the game stays close. 3. Jacksonville's offense is not as good as NE or the Jets. I doubt that they can dominate the ball and score the way that they did. Jacksonville is the better team on paper, as are all the teams the Bills play, but looking at the schedule I honestly feel that this is their best chance for a win for the first half of the season at least.
  17. They dumped a lot of good players to assemble that draft. They had better make it count or they are done for a while.
  18. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Marshawn-Lynch-traded-to-Seattle-Seahawks-from-Buffalo-Bills
  19. What's the big deal about "bottoming out" or finishing with the #1 overall pick? The Bills haven't stunk all these years because they were going 7-9 or 6-10. It's because they can't draft. Plenty of good players have been taken after the #1 overall pick, just not by the Bills. It's not like the NBA where you can draft one guy and build your team around him. It takes many players to build a championship NFL team and they aren't all drafted in the top 5.
  20. Evans is a given. They're not going to trade Spiller and the other guys aren't really worth anything.
  21. I'm just frustrated because I don't see any master plan behind this. It looks like they had better assets when Nix took over than they do now.
  22. But that whole situation was entirely of Nix's creation. What was their plan when they took Spiller in the first place? They obviously planned to move a running back right from the start. It's not like Nix acquired the situation with three backs and needed to move one.
  23. Do you think that the difference in the contributions of CJ Spiller and Marshawn Lynch is the worth the difference between the #9 overall pick and a 4th round draft pick? If Jackson is better than Lynch then maybe we should've traded him for a 3rd rounder. Something tells me it would've been pretty tough to get...
  24. I think that the poster is evaluating the status of our roster. Would you rather have Marshawn Lynch and the #9 overall pick or CJ Spiller and a fourth round pick? If you think Lynch and the #9 overall then we've gone backwards. And as for Lynch's rushing average, we'll see how good Spiller looks behind the Bills OL. He didn't look too good against Miami.
