  1. This. Really until the Bills beat an obviously good team that the media has been fawning over like the Jets or NE*, the Bills will only get moderate credit for their wins.
  2. Jauron is a career loser. He had one winning season in 13 years as a head coach with two franchises (three if you count the partial year he spent with Detroit), and that year his team was defeated in the first playoff game. For anyone to defend keeping him on as head coach with a straight face is to be in complete denial.
  3. Biscuit was great, but no way in heck would a trade ever happen like that again. Nowadays you can get Pro Bowl players for a 3rd or 4th round pick and back in 1987 the Bills gave up 2 first round picks, a 2nd round pick and a Pro Bowl running back for Bennett-then had to pay half of Bell's salary the first year in order for the Rams to accept Bell (they wanted Ronnie Harmon). Bell was a malcontent and hardly no team in the league wanted anything to do with him, despite him making the Pro Bowl as a rookie. The Rams got 3 first round picks, 3 second round picks and some scrub for a running back who already had half a dozen seasons in the league. Check out the link for the below Los Angeles newspaper article where Bell has some not so kind words for our owner. Halloween Trade Well, the Bills drafted Thurman Thomas that year so the solved the running back problem fairly quickly and easily.
  4. The Chiefs are going to come out throwing the ball, mark my words. The will anticipate that the Bills will start out hyped up and overcommitted to stopping the run, so they're going to try and make a few big plays passing the ball and then turn to the running game once the defense is off balance.
  5. I liked Heard too, but Edwards looks better at this point. Heard, Troup, Carrington and Johnson are very solid depth/rotational players. I'm sure there will be some disagreement with this, but I think that the position the DL is still in need of is NT. Williams is a very good penetrating DT but he is not a big time, giant, space eating NT. The Bills are going to need someone like that to really become a team that can't be run against.
  6. Except that when you look at the comparisons you've made, the late 90s team is better in single every one.
  7. That's what I was thinking.
  8. I believe that this was Dan Marino's first game as QB for Miami.
  9. Jim Kelly was good.
  10. I wonder if it's going to feel the same way the next time we beat the Patriots. I believe that this is the ONLY game in NFL history with no punts.
  11. Well, it looks like Kyle Orton is going to have to carry the flag for me. I'd feel worse if it had Fitz though...
  12. That's nice. He is my fantasy quarterback.
  13. Can't argue with that.
  14. Barney Miller tried to kill somebody? I always thought that he was too preoccupied with trying to make sure that there was nothing going on between Jack and the girls.
  15. So much for the "flashes" that Pianalto showed. Sounds promising.
  16. I think that it's a step up but overall I don't think that it's that significant. The defense is definitely improved but I think the offense will regress slightly from last season. The overall end product will be slightly better.
  17. I would probably downgrade the TE position. Bills have a decent prospect in Chandler, but more importantly I just don't think that it's a high priority for Gailey to find one and definitely not on the same level as a franchise QB or OTs. I would also think about upgrading LT. I know some of this will depend on Bell's season, but really he looks like a journeyman type player and Gailey doesn't really seem that high on him.
  18. Well, they're about to sign this one. http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/6929918/new-england-patriots-sign-brian-waters-source-says
  19. How about this then. http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/6929918/new-england-patriots-sign-brian-waters-source-says
  20. You say this, but I don't get the feeling that you really believe it. Most people only want to hear information that reinforces their pre-existing beliefs. All other information is called into question. Since there is no way for the common person to know what is true everything is treated as spin. That is the nature of the world we live in.
  21. Or just wait one more year for Tebow to be cut. He's steadily working his way down the depth chart and towards the door.
  22. All it takes for younger players to get playing time is for the coach to tell them go go out on the field. McGee will not tie them to the bench. Are the future prospects of the #5 corner on the team more valuable than a veteran starter, even over a 3 or 4 year period? Unlikely. I mean who are they cutting McGee to make room for??? Then why not wait two years to cut him? I don't believe that the Bill are intentionally playing to lose so that they can improve their draft position. If this was really true, then I would never support this team again, but I don't believe it. Professional players and coaches want to perform well and be successful. Their jobs are on the line.
  23. Now that's funny.
  24. Unless McGee is not one of the best 5 cornerbacks on the team, cutting him is a cost saving move plain and simple. Since the Bills are well under the salary cap there is no reason to do this from a football perspective.
  25. I wouldn't say a bust, but it doesn't look like there are any home runs. Carrington, Moats, Easley, Batten and Troup all look like possible starters/backups. Carrington, Easley or Batten may even be starting by year's end. That's not bad for their second year. I also think that Moats is being misused.
