  1. I assume that this signing would spell the end of the pursuit for Clay.
  2. Yes. As it stands now I see the starters as: SLB- Lawson, MLB- Brown, WLB- Bradham. Although if they resign Spikes this could change. Depth is pretty weak though. I wonder if Hogan or Goodwin get cut? I doubt that they keep 6 WRs. A long time ago. Yup. Also, even if the team doesn't bring in another OL free agent, I wouldn't bet on Chris Williams beating out Richardson or even possibly Kouandjio at RG.
  3. My thoughts too. And on returns and other gadget plays.
  4. I don't have a lot of confidence in the guy but if anyone can get something out of him it's Sean Peyton.
  5. But when did they need to cut Chandler to save this money? Couldn't they make sure that they had Clay first and then cut Chandler?
  6. I don't agree with you on the receiver part. Just about every pass to him that I can think of is a screen or dump off. That's nice but you'd expect better given his speed and athleticism. I don't remember too many wheel routes or anything beyond 5 yards really. I agree that his fumbling troubles have improved since his rookie year, but I see a 3rd down back who is not a great blocker or receiver or a 1st down back who can't run between the tackles. That's not going to get him on the field much, IMO. But anyway, good luck to him. Maybe a better OC can show the NFL (and me) what Spiller can really do.
  7. They could really use a guy like Spikes to play the middle when they go with 3 LBs vs the run (or 4 if you count Hughes as an OLB now). If he doesn't come back then there is a hole. Brown can move to MLB and Lawson plays the outside but that's not nearly as strong a combination, IMO.
  8. So if their attempt to get Clay fails, and I wouldn't put the chances at better than 50-50, then who's the TE? I just don't like these types of moves. It's a pretty big risk for $250k.
  9. Bills are lucky that he didn't accept, and it's not about the money. He's just not that good. He can't block, is a mediocre receiver, has had fumbling and injury problems and can't run between the tackles. He's fast, but it takes a lot more than that to be a good running back in the NFL.
  10. Was there a reason to release him before the Bills had a replacement on the roster?
  11. I think injuries to the 'qb position caused most of the trouble.
  12. What makes this trade especially strange to me is that Foles is younger and has far better career passing statistics than Bradford, yet Philly is giving up the extra picks. Doesn't seem to make too much sense for the Eagles.
  13. That's what it looks like so far.
  14. I'm sure he's headed to NY to rejoin Chan, Fitz, Stevie and CJ. Maybe Freddie too when he's cut. They're putting the band back together.
  15. Don't forget this part of the article: "Remember the target or asking prices for these players are on the high side and aren't necessarily what their actual deals will be."
  16. The #1 off season priority, IMO, is to keep your own quality FAs. All other things are secondary. Losing Hughes would be a big loss. Not because of what he will or won't do with another team but because of what we know and have seen him do here with the Bills. When you bring in somebody else to "replace" him, it's always guesswork as to what he can do in your system, with your players, etc. Hughes in Buffalo is a known quantity. A very good player. Guys like him need to be kept if you don't constantly want to be on a treadmill.
  17. For those calling for Locker or Moore, I don't see it. The only QB question left for this upcoming season is if they think that Tuel has any upside potential. If not, then they will draft another QB to replace him. Either way it's going to be a competiton between Manuel and Cassel for the starting job. No point in bringing in another scrub to muddy the waters.
  18. "I don't why people call the Cowboys America's team. We're the ones with the red, white and blue uniforms." - Fred Smerlias
  19. Agree. In my mind Pittsburgh should be #1 honestly. San Diego should probably be higher as well.
  20. I hope that they have another QB move on their minds even if they sign him, otherwise it's going to be another mediocre season with him and EJ as the only options.
  21. When is the press conference? Did I miss it?
  22. I like the old color better, for what it's worth.
  23. How old is Peterson? A lot of wear and tear on that body.
  24. I'd give them back the #3 they spend on him. If they want more than that then I'd need to think about it.
