  1. Man Does Sully own Bills fans or what. He's so far in their heads that it's ridiculous.
  2. A performance that Wade Phillips is hoping not to repeat.
  3. It is sort of funny to hear fans that once regularly slammed the Bills and their ownership as being cheap now advocate a cheap stadium solution to keep costs down.
  4. Interesting. Although: Way, way more people play rugby than american football world wide, so comparing the total number of injuries is bogus. There are some 7 millions adults playing rugby in leagues all over the world. They need to compare the rate of injury. Rugby players don't wear any head protection to speak of. "Head injuries" and concussions are two different things. I can see quite a few head injuries that are not concussions to people not wearing helmets, like cuts, broken noses, black eyes, etc. The NFL has been chronically underreporting the rate of concussions, as the article states.
  5. It is controllable. See rugby or Australian rules football for an example of how.
  6. Need to ban all blows to the head, by any player at any time to anyone. All illegal. Only then will concussion problem be solved.
  7. It's not really about who has the most talent. The Jets had a better record because they got more out of the talent they had than the Bills did.
  8. I think you are seriously underestimating the impact of the discovery. Personally, my kids are not going to be playing football and I know many other people who played the game but have decided this. As the extent of the damage is revealed the participation will plummet and lawsuits will take off. I think the game will be radically different 10 years from now. No question in my mind.
  9. Buddy and Chan really wanted Newton, but there was no chance of that. Given the choice between Miller and Dareus I think they preferred Dareus because a good big man is always better than a good little man, at least it their eyes. If you remember they had their heads so far up their butts with the whole "getting bigger" thing at the time that they were doing things like moving Chris Kelsay to LB.
  10. Ryan used mostly a 1 gap strategy this season. The biggest difference between the defenses, IMO, is personnel and complexity. Wade's defense is easy to learn and he has two natural 3-4 OLBs in Ware and Miller. It actually sets up perfectly for what he is trying to do.
  11. Miller was great but don't forget Ware. He turned back the clock to his Dallas days.
  12. There were lots of 3 man rushes by Denver where both Miller and Ware dropped into coverage. Denver mixed it up with the rush and in the secondary.
  13. Mostly they were, but not Gronk. His YAC was ridiculous.
  14. The Cheats O-linemen didn't look too good vs Denver.
  15. I was thinking the exact same thing. lol.
  16. Exactly. All coaches modify their system to a degree but they don't change their philosophy or what they believe in. The Eagles are going to run a defense that looks very similar to Buffalo's. We'll see how it works without the front four he had to work with here.
  17. I think that you are the one with comprehension issues. Why don't you read my comments and try again.
  18. According to many on TBD, that's the perfect fan base. Supports the team when they put a good product on the field but doesn't subsidize crap. I'm not sure I disagree with them. I don't know why it became noble and a credit to fans to take it in the butt and continue to pay when a team doesn't have a commitment to winning or can't produce. But the team has been good for several years now (three straight division titles) so it's a moot discussion. They've had very strong support for a while.
  19. lol. Maybe they can throw in Kiko so that the Bills can get him back too.
  20. He's not. But that doesn't make it a good hire. It makes the Bills hire bad too.
  21. I can't believe that this thread made it to page 4 without somebody posting... Super Bowl!
  22. I read the article. I've never been to Lambeau so I can't speak directly of the before and after, but as an architect I can tell you that you that it is very, very unlikely that you will be able to get the same level of amenities in a renovation of RWS, which I have been to many times, as you will if you build a new stadium no matter what you spend. And whatever you could affordably do, I'm sure they did in the recent renovation. Anyone thinking that you can spend another $150m and get a near new stadium experience is deluded.
  23. This is all about him quitting, IMO. You just generate such bad blood with everyone doing something like that. It's poisoned everything about him and really taints people's perspective. He really does just need to go back to college and re-establish some trust. Probably. But it takes time to adjust to the NFL too so you never know. Just have to have an interview. It's a pretty weak rule as far as affirmative action policies go.
  24. Tough to beat the old timers in the toughness category.Y.A. Tittle Johnny Unitas Kenny Stabler Joe Ferguson (that's right)
