  1. As I scroll through these comments I cannot help but notice the haters, who twist every detail into the worst case scenario. The facts are these; Nix hired a terrible coach with his first hire The roster is much better today than it was when he took over All four first round picks appear to be solid The rest of the drafts were OK The Buck stops with him, but draft picks are generally a group consensus I think he stabilized the ship, now it's up to the Doug's to set sail.
  2. This is what i was going to post. In the 'EJ's arm' thread and video, I noticed and mentioned there, he always slides to avoid the hit, even at the goal line when he could score if he took the hit. That is smart and unselfish. The thing I can't wrap my head around, is all the 'he doesn't have it up stairs' talk from before and just after the draft. Those 'scouts' must have mixed their QB notes up....
  3. I personally liked the fact that he repeatedly slid, avoiding contact, even at the goal line at the end of a long run. Unselfish and smart.

  5. New hierarchy of TSW posters: 1. Alphadawg7 2. 3. 4. what was I listing?
  6. First I've seen of Cowhers name on anything besides the stadium wall. Doesn't mean anything, but its a good point. http://www.ibtimes.com/bill-cowher-rumors-philadelphia-eagles-chicago-bears-buffalo-bills-former-steelers-coachs-radar
  7. It is a Reebok jersey, so it really is a leftover.
  8. Leadership, imo, is the thing most overlooked by fans. Coaches that buck the system in some way, and lead in their own unique way seem to have the most success, not the cookie cutter thinkers. Every SB coach from the past 15 years is a dynamic leader with the exception of maybe Mike McCarthy. I don't like any of the retreads accept Lovie. McCoy is ok, as is Horton. Short of hiring Cowher or Gruden, Kelly is the most dynamic leader out their. So in reality my order of preference is Kelly, Lovie, and then Marone/McCoy/Horton/Bengals co-coordinators. Whisenhunt is just so uninspiring.
  9. Would be crazy... I just don't understand the attention the AZ staff is getting. They were a bad team, and the Bills are gonna pick the scraps off the Cardinals carcase? I don't see it going down like this. Despite the self defense mechanism that is the attitude of WNY'ers, Buffalo has a lot to offer as an opportunity for a coach. Success here is forever, it is not fleeting save being a double murderer. Allegedly. The prophet, maybe Godlike status of former stars Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly speak to this. The team has young dynamic players at many skill positions, and in the trenches. Shore up QB and LB, and make a few decent coaching desicions and the team can be good. The Bills need to make a run at a dynamic head coach to match. Chip Kelly would, at the very least, a bold move. As would bringing in one of the Super Bowl winning coaches, minus Billick. He would be a prudent hire along with Lovie Smith, and I guess the 'hot' coordinators would be to. The rest of the recycled losing record coaches are uninspired at best and maddening.
  10. Of this list this is how I'd rank 'em: -Chip Kelly -Lovie Smith -Mike McCoy -Horton -Grimm/Hue Jackson -Doug Marrone -Whisenhunt I would hope there are other candidates such as the OC/DC from Cinci., and others, but Whisenhunt would be the worst.
  11. I try and listen to WGR when I get a chance, and almost always hear the Fitz, Gaily, and Nix weekly calls. They always ask tough to answer questions. What is Nix supposed to say? That he is planning to fire Gaily? Some times I feel bad for Fitz after tough games, he comes on at 9am after 3 hours of angry phone calls and the hosts nonchalantly writing him off.
  12. Agreed and love the love for Nelson! Best hands on the team for three strait seasons, and why I defended our receivers in the summer of 2011. Sure we had a need for speed, but Stevie and he were a solid 1-2 punch and at that point there was still hope for Easly to provide some speed.
  13. Whats with all the Nolan love. Seriously, he could be no worse than any of our coaches since Phillips, but he also is the exact kind of retread as Gaily and Jauron. Dude made Mike Singletary look like a good coach look like Bill Walsh in San Francisco.
  14. are you a former employee of Stafford CC? Can't be too many ham sandwiches out there....
  15. BEP was the worst. My only thought is why so knee jerk with these acts? Janet Jackson nipple = Geritol rock?(and I love Petty) Some one said green day...not my fave but much better than the past few years. As far as Beyonce goes, she is the best pop act since jackson /timberlake. Hell, at least it ain't nickleback, or ac/dc for that matter...the nickleback of their day! Metalica and foo fighters are good too...breast cancer is bad, who cares if the NFL goes pink for a month...has nothing to do with womens lib either. Old farts that rely on the 'womens lib' movement as an argument should study harder and find new arguments.
  16. I am all for it! It makes sense for both the AFC East and north for Baltimore and Buffalo switch. On the rivalries, teams have rivals from other divisions(cowboys/49ers from the 90's, Colts/Patriots were post realignment) all the time, not a good reason to not realign. It would benefit teams on sell outs, and create natural rivalries.
  17. It depends on how many tiers you have, if just two and its split down the middle, then Cutler is a top tier QB and Fitz is a bottom tier. If the division is elite/non-elite then they are both bottom tier. However, if there are three tiers, then neither is a top tier or bottom tier, but a middle tier QB. If there are four tiers, Cutler is a second tier and Fitzy a third.
  18. Pizza does not suck in NYC. It sucks here in Richmond big time. Wings suck every where out side of WNY save a local establishment here and there. And pizza chain wings may be the worst...all of them including BWW or BW3 or what ever they call there s#!ty place. I would have to be reeaaalllly drunk to do either.
  19. Pretty sure he was criticized heavily for the Jets game play calling. Gaily addressed it with him almost immediately, and said as much at the press conference either post game or last monday. Nothing to see here.
  20. Additionally, how they look in pre-season games has little bearing on how they will look during the regular season. I too was disapointed to watch last thursdays game, but ultimately it was a glorified scrimage with some good and bad points.
  21. And your QB coaching resume consists of what? Not to be that guy but really????
