Screw The Defense In Round One
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya, Sanu is a stud. If he played for a premier program he would certainly go in the first round. There's a good chance he may slip into the 2nd round and could be around when we pick in the 2nd. thanks carolina bill..i'll definitely be following ingram throughout the combine. -
If Peyton Manning goes to the Jets...
bobobonators replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. The only thing that may prevent this from happening is if Luck pulls an Eli and says that he will not sign with the Colts. If I'm Luck, I do not want to go to Indy. Luck is kinda screwed either way if he goes to Indy: 1. If manning is healthy, Luck is going to be sitting on the bench for the next 3 years at least. Nobody with Luck's skills/talent wants to do that. Ya, rodgers did it, but rodgers slid on draft day and GB worked on Rodgers release/footwork over those years when he was on the sidelines. 2. If manning isn't healthy and Luck becomes the man pretty quickly, who wants to be the one that follows Manning? The shoes that Luck will have to step into and fill, can't be filled. Ya, young followed Montana and did well. Manning is arguably the greatest QB of all time though. Ideally, Luck will land somewhere where he can be the starter from day 1 and won't be compared to the greatest QB of all time on a weekly basis. So again, if I'm luck, I pull an Eli and tell the colts, don't bother drafting me b/c I won't sign! -
If Peyton Manning goes to the Jets...
bobobonators replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't understand the logic in this post on all accounts. 1. why would peyton manning go to the same city where his brother plays? ya, they would rarely play one another, but it really seems unnecessary b/c the giants and jets DO have a rivalry despite barely playing one another, so it would automatically bring unnecessary stress to the family...especially considering peyton is ending his career...the mannings know that Eli has it pretty good right now in NY, and peyton coming here would only overshadow Eli...unnecessary stress/rivalry imo. 2. why would peyton manning want to play in the same division as Tom Brady? it's cute playing once a year in a non-divisional game, but why would you want to face him at least 2x's every year? 3. why would peyton manning want to play for a cold weather team to finish his career? As for the Bills reactions to peyton manning..that makes no sense whatsoever. We already have Tom Brady in our division..what exactly would the bills be reacting to? At best, Manning would probably have 3 solid/great years left...why would the bills trade away 5 picks to move up 9 spots in order to counteract 3 years of manning? If we're going to trade away our entire draft to move up and get RGIII or Luck, then we're doing it b/c it's the best move for the franchise and not in reaction to another team's FA signing and/or trade. Peyton Manning will never go to the Jets and the Jets would never be able to afford to add on that contract anyway. -
Screw The Defense In Round One

what are your thoughts on Melvin Ingram? I've only seen him play maybe 3-4 times..quite impressive in about 2 of those games. Would he be worth a 10? that's my fear as well. if we transition to the 4-3 this team is well off at DT, but seriously lacking at DE. Isn't Umenyiora a FA this season?? If we transition to the 4-3, I would throw insane money at him despite his injury concerns. he's 30 years old and should still have 3-4 productive years left. any chance we get Osi???..lol -
Screw The Defense In Round One
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WR is a need for sure, imo. So I would not be opposed to drafting a WR at 10 if the talent is there...if not, I would focus on picking the best defensive player available. Regardless what we do, I still want us to bring Stevie back next season. Despite his stupidity, he's still a very good player that can be a part of the ultimate solution in buffalo -
And with the 10th pick in the 2012 draft,
bobobonators replied to rocwocka's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i could care less about 40 times with respect to LBs/DE's..i'm more interested in their 10yd splits and explosiveness...when i watch Upshaw play, i see explosiveness. i'd like to see hiim run the 40 though and see what his 10 yd split time is -
And with the 10th pick in the 2012 draft,
bobobonators replied to rocwocka's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with respect to our O-line...does anyone feel we need to make a selection with either our 1st or 2nd pick, or should we just concentrate on increasing depth. I tend to lean on the idea of just adding depth (rounds 3-6/FA), as the O-line played pretty well this year when all of the starters were in there. Jonathan Martin, LT from Stanford is pretty enticing though.. -
And with the 10th pick in the 2012 draft,
bobobonators replied to rocwocka's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think the pick that would make the most sense righ now would be Upshaw as I feel he's the best pass rushing LB in this draft...which is exactly what we need. Dareus and Upshaw - roll tide! -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
bobobonators replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. OLB 1st pick; and WR 2nd pick. Great game yesterday..it's amazing how different the team looks when teh defense actually plays well and doesn't give up a TD on every single drive in the 1st half. Go bills! PS: Lindell, please get better fast! -
You're a complete TOOOOOOL...the players I compared him to are THE SAME !@#$ING PLAYERS YOU COMPARED HIM TO IN YOUR POST..MY LORD, drink some Clorox Bleach and put an end to your stupidity.

There's competitive greatness....
bobobonators replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good question. The new QBR rating attempts to address this. Fitzpatrick currently ranks 12th in the league with a QBR rating of 58.7. He's ahead of notable QB's like Philip Rivers, Vick, Flacco, Newton, Stafford, Freeman, Dalton, Smith, Sanchez. I say "notable" b/c of course, on these message boards, all of those above mentioned QB's are "worlds" better than Fitz. So while 12th in the league isn't "outstanding," it's certainly above average. Add that QBR ranking to the stats I listed above, and you have yourself GOOD production from the QB position. Solution: Fix the Defense, Add to the offense; add overall depth. Result: playoffs. -

OK, so is it about TD then? You know..that minor detail that is required in order to actually WIN a football game? 25 games, 43 td's..more TD's than Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Big Ben, Schaub, Sanchez, Flacco, Freeman...all of the QB's minus Rivers and Schaub were in the playoffs last year. Here's a clue: There are other parts to a team aside from the QB; try addressing it from that angle for a while. -

LMAO. This is great news for this defense next season.

yay! another Fitz "can't cut it thread"..since all of these threads deal with the same mind-numbing hyperbole, i'll just do the same and keep posting the response I made in another thread: 25 games started for the Bills: 856 attempts; 43td's; 60% completion percentage; 5,837yds; 83qb rating last 25 games started for following QB's: Eli Manning: 879 attempts; 49td's; 62% completion %; 6897yds; approx 90qb rating Big Ben (*last 24 games): 797 attempts; 36td's; 62% completion ; 6,446yds; 95 qb rating Matt Ryan: 760 attempts; 33td's; approx 61% completion; 5,464yds; approx 88qb rating Mark Sanchez: 833 attempts; 30td's; approx 55% completion; 5,419yds; approx 77qb rating Matt Schaub: 849 attempts; 38td's; approx 62% completion; 6,742yds; approx 94qb rating Joe Flacco: 815 attempts; 34td's; approx 58% completion; 5,853 yds; ; approx 86 qb rating Josh Freeman: 857 attempts; 35td's; approx 61% completion; 5,984 yds; approx 86 qb rating Rivers: 867 attempts; 42td's; approx 64% completion; 7,128yds; approx 94qb rating Do you guys want me to continue? because it's truly pointless to do so. Aside from the ELITE QB'S (BREES/RODGERS/MANNING)which is pointless to even compare, Fitzpatrick last 25 starts with the Buffalo Bills, stack up against ANY OF THE QB'S you fools wish we had/assume are better. For fools, the grass is always greener. So PLEASE, do me and the rest of us a favor and analyze those numbers above; analyze them, digest them and for once and for all, STFU. GO FITZ! newera, i respect your opinion, but in all due respect, the "eye ball test"? come on, how subjective can you get? it's real easy to always covet other players b/c when they mess up it's not YOUR team, so it's a lot easier to simply forget about that and then just focus on the good. when one of our players misses the mark, you're much more likely to dwell on that and then simply disregard the good. it's really quite simple. AGain, considering everything around him, Fitz has been WELL above average for us since last year. Continue adding talent..give us a premier #1 WR..give us a very good O-line..BUILD around fitz..he's already shown that he can win some tough games with limited talent...keep adding to the talent! As for the defense..that's another story... -
You're a lost cause. "average," based on what? Stats? We already listed them for you, and the STATS clearly indicate that he's producing at rate that is WELL above average. Furthermore, why don't you go back to the games he played last season and include those stats with this year's stats, to give you an even greater body of work to play with. But you won't do that of course b/c you're a blind fool, so I'll do it for you: 25 games started for the Bills: 856 attempts; 43td's; 60% completion percentage; 5,837yds; 83qb rating last 25 games started for following QB's: Eli Manning: 879 attempts; 49td's; 62% completion %; 6897yds; approx 90qb rating Big Ben (*last 24 games): 797 attempts; 36td's; 62% completion ; 6,446yds; 95 qb rating Matt Ryan: 760 attempts; 33td's; approx 61% completion; 5,464yds; approx 88qb rating Mark Sanchez: 833 attempts; 30td's; approx 55% completion; 5,419yds; approx 77qb rating Matt Schaub: 849 attempts; 38td's; approx 62% completion; 6,742yds; approx 94qb rating Joe Flacco: 815 attempts; 34td's; approx 58% completion; 5,853 yds; ; approx 86 qb rating Josh Freeman: 857 attempts; 35td's; approx 61% completion; 5,984 yds; approx 86 qb rating Rivers: 867 attempts; 42td's; approx 64% completion; 7,128yds; approx 94qb rating Do you guys want me to continue? because it's truly pointless to do so. How about, Stevie, Nelson, Chandler have been our top receivers because they're the only ones who have remained HEALTHY? They're our leading receivers by default, not necessarily by choice. Regarding your Rivers argument..what EXACTLY are we arguing here, i want to make sure we're crystal clear, because if i use stats to point out that Fitz is having, statistically speaking, a "good" year this year, people complain that it's "not about stats"...but then, using the grass is greeener syndrome, the same people use Rivers "stats" to show how "good" he did last season.."why can't Fitz throw for so many yards!?" but at the same time, due to the grass is greener syndrome, fail to point out that Rivers did not make the playoffs last season out of the afc West for crying out loud. point that stat out. Fitz is on pace to be in the top 10 in every statistically significant category for a QB in this league. End of story. So ya, Rivers put up great stats last year w/o much around him, if you want to argue that, and those stats at the end of the day got him and SD nowhere..but Rivers is outstanding regardless. Fitz is having a very good season statistically speaking, with not much at all around him, and like Rivers, Fitz and the Bills will end up nowhere...but of course, Fitz sucks. Right.
-
how else do you want to grade him? on wins and losses? sure that would be great, unfortunately there are a crap load of elements that play into that equation that Fitz has nothing to do with. let your friends laugh all they want..do you actually watch other games? do you realize how many bad throws are made by QB's all over the league week in week out? the difference is that other TEAMS ARE BETTER than our TEAM and individual players' occassional mistakes can be overcome. for christs sake, Fitz throws for 200+ yds, 3 tds vs. the Jets and hits a wide open Stevie at the very end that may have sealed the deal..and what are 80% of the b*tch complaints on this board about after the game? why couldn't fitz hit stevie in the numbers on the second throw in the end zone while he was rolling out and throwing on the run..that's what people were bitching about...not that the defense COLLAPSED again and gave up the go-ahead TD...not that Fitz hit Brad Smith in the hands in the end zone on the last drive, but B. Smith couldn't reel it in..sure that was a tough catch for smith, but so was Fitzs throw on the run across his body to stevie in the end zone..no bitching for smith not being able to brign the ball in though. vs. ten, why couldn't Fitz drive 85 yds in 1 minute with 0 TO's?..it's insane. At the end of the day, it's simple: fans suffer from "grass is greener" syndrome. All other players in the league are better than our players..all college QB's are always potential hall of famers...and other teams fans "laugh" at our players..it's comical, but expected. I live in the NYC area and year in year out I have to hear how much Eli Manning sucks and is not an "elite" QB. It's comical, it really is. So ya, it's not a surprise that a buffalo bills messageboard has people bitching and moaning about Fitz. So what's your alternative? Tell me what you would like to do at QB in the off season so we can prevent your friends from teasing you about Fitz next season.

Where we'll be picking, I think Courtney Upshaw would be a HUGE (and much needed) addition to this team if he's available. I really like RG3, but I don't even think he'll come out this year...but if he does, I don't think he'll drop to the teens, where we'll be picking. If he comes out, RG3 will light it up in the combine and he'll go pretty high (top 5)..especially on the heels of Cam's success this year.

all 1st ballot HOF's..so let me get this straight, what you're actually arguing then is: An NFL team can only win a super bowl if you have a Hall of Fame QB underneath center. Why don't you just save whatever is left of your pathetic life as an invalid, and stop watching the Bills, b/c what you're seeking at QB - a HOF QB - is most likely not going to be coming around here any time soon. You just don't seem to get it..your mind is so empty that all you can focus on week in week out is Fitz and how he's not Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. NO ****. Move on. If your goal is simply to pursue the next HOF QB, then you're going to be chasing your tail like a fool. Realize that we have someone who is, statistically speaking, actually GOOD at QB and DOES HAVE intagibles, whether you want to admit it or not, and insteand of being FIXATED on replacing him with Aaron Rodgers 2.0, how about we simply KEEP ADDING TO THE TALENT AROUND HIM..WHICH IS NOT MUCH. It must suck to be you right now b/c Fitz isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Deal with it.
-
Fitz > Vick for sure...vick has been a starter many more seasons than Fitz, and what has he ever accomplished really? Id take Rivers over Fitz..but again, how much talent has Rivers had in San Diego? How would Rivers do in Buffalo? I wouldn't jump to take Ryan over Fitz...Ryan has fallen into a situation in Atlanta where he has TONS of talent around him and though he has performed relatively well, how would he actually do in Buffalo? The point is, Fitz is putting up good numbers with very little talent around him...so the LOGICAL thing would be to simply continue to ADD talent to the offensive side and not SUBTRACT from the talent (by replacing Fitz or even stevie or freddie)
-
Also, he has thrown 14 INT's which ranks 26th out of 32 rated QB's..have to take into account however that appprox 11 players ahead of him on that list have 100 fewer attempted passes for the season..
-
Fitzpatrick League Rankings: Completion percentage: 5th (63.9%); 3rd is Brady, 4th is Romo; 6th Big Ben, 7th is Alex Smith (level: elite) Touchdowns: 7th (20td); 5th is Eli, 6th is Romo; 8th is tie between rivers/sanchez/big ben/matt ryan (level: great) QB rating: 11th (85.8); 9th is matt stafford, 10th is Matt Moore; 12th is cutler, 13th is matt ryan (level: above league average) Yards/Game: 18th (236.4); 16th is Grossman; 17th is Flacco; 19th is Cutler; 20th is Sanchez (average/slightly below league average) Overall you get a QB who is having overall a pretty good damn good season. For the TD stat, Fitz has fewer pass attempts (by quite a bit) than EVERY SINGLE QB in front of him minus Aaron Rodgers.. for the yds/game stat, Fitz has fewer pass attempts than EVERY SINGLE QB in front of him with at least 400 attempts (quite a few of the players on there haven't started all season), minus 3 players (cam/freeman/rodgers who all have more yds/game and fewer attempts) If you guys think that those numbers, taking into account the lack of pure talent surrounding fitz, aren't good enough to take a team far into the playoffs, then you're delusional.
-
i really don't understand the purpose of this thread..why limit it to just Fitz? Why not just ask: Is any player on the bills roster "elite"? I suppose replacing Fitz's name with McGee or Dareus or Byrd isn't as cute/dramatic. Agreed. It's absolutely comical how everyone still wants to draft a QB to replace Fitz assuming that he'll produce at a better rate. Fitz is going to most likely finish the season rankd in teh top 10 in most, if not all, QB categories...but he's not Tom Brady though so we can still get better..gotcha. Ryan with White, Jones, and Tony Gonzalez has fewer TD's than Fitz with Stevie, the waterboy, and my grandma at WR..somehow Ryan is still 10x better than Fitz to some people on these boards. what are you babbling about clown. compare him to the rest of the league and see where his numbers stack up...once you compile those names, go a little further and compare the talent those other QB's have at WR/OL compared to what we have.
-
lol..i meant near the red zone..weren't we on the 30 or so? (sorry, can't remember the exact spot)..anyway, my point was taht he did move the ball down the field last week in the last possession; if our defense holds the jets to a FG to tie the game last week instead of the go-ahead TD, then that would've been a game winning drive by us last week since we were in FG range. anyway, buts are pointless at this point..it's just amazing though how this teams clear weakness/flaw is the defense and yet week in week out we sit here and scrutinize every pass Fitz throws as if we have a top 3 defense and pro bowl WR and Fitz is the one holding this team back. it's laughable.
