  1. No thanks. I love capitalism and the NFL.
  2. I fixed your statement. I think the minimum salary in the NFL in 2010 was something like $325,000. The crappiest player in the league can stay around 3 years and earn roughly 1 million. Assuming the average joe makes 50K a year, it would take Mr. Joe 20 yrs to earn that. We all pay taxes and many of us pay union fees as well. The fact that a player like Jamarcus Russell, after receiving millions before ever playing a snap, has a house in foreclosure is NOT the NFL's problem. Part of the next CBA should include some mandatory financial counseling sessions for all players who score less than a 10 on the wonderlic
  3. Taking Gabbert at #1 will be a FAIL of historic proportions, imo. If Gabbert goes #1 (which I don't think he will), it will strictly be because he "looks" like a QB, because his performance on the field in college was nothing special..certainly not deserving of a #1 overall. Only less than a year ago, Gabbert wasn't even known throughout most of the nation and now he's #1? lol..that's where you're dead wrong. Obviously you're not aware of how things work in Buffalo.
  4. Mallett: Intangibles: Some have concerns over his maturity level. Has a brash personality that has caused some to question whether he possesses the leadership to handle an NFL huddle. Was never voted a team captain with the Razorbacks despite the fact that quarterbacks are often pushed by coaching staffs as such. Very confident in his own talent and early in his career wasn't known for his dedication to the film room. Arrested for public intoxication on March 1, 2009, in Fayetteville. No thanks. I'll gladly defer that potential headache to another franchise.
  5. ya, i'm not sure if i'd be interested in mallett much either..but i realistically can't see him lasting until the 3rd round. He'll be gone in the high 2nd round at worst. The numbers he put up in college, combined with his arm and size will be too hard to for a team to pass up on 2 times. But again, I wouldn't be very interested in the guy
  6. if fairley and dareus are gone and peterson is there, i'd probably try to trade down a couple of slots and get Quinn, Von Miller, or Bowers. lmfao.
  7. I would not hesitate for a second...but I can't see him falling to us in the 2nd rd.
  8. LOL. I really can't see that being a factor at all.
  9. Cam Jordan at #3 wouldn't piss me off as much. I think Jordan is a player who can come into the league and start for you right away. A bit of a reach at #3 considering the other players that will be available...but at least he would fill a need. I like Jordan, and if any trade-downs whind up happening, I'd be all for getting him.
  10. Spiller was at least rated near the spot we took him. Taking Jones at 3 would be insane. 0.0001% chance of it happening.
  11. I'd agree with that...if fairley/dareus go 1/2, i would heavily be in favor of a trade down
  12. I want in on this bet: 3Qb's will NOT be drafted in the first round - guaranteed.
  13. Not sure about AVP, but I know of a JPL who could be a backup Says who? Recent history shows otherwise.
  14. Agreed! However, you left the great Keslay off of that list
  15. That's a negative, zulu - we've got fitzMAGIC!
  16. lol..i'm sure they are saying that. But unlike the Bengals, we at least have a starting QB right now. You'd be hard-pressed to deny the fact that Carson Palmer announcing that he will never play for the Bengals again, just a few weeks before the draft, puts the Bengals in a very tight spot right now and going forward. I pretty much agree...I'd be hard pressed to see any of the other non-netwon/gabbert QB's jump into the 1nd round though..you look at picks 17-32, and really only one team - the seahawks at #25 - are capable of drafting a QB and that would be a long shot imo. The only way I'd see the Seahawks taking a QB is if Gabbert is still there when they pick...but after the first round i could definitely see the rest of the top QB's being selected before the 3rd round like you said..
  17. I definitely wouldn't want Palmer at this point in his career..especially since it would have to be done via trade. I can't wait to see how it plays out, there's going to be 4-5 teams-at least-jockying for position for 2 QB's.
  18. No, I didn't mean for us to get Palmer. We'd get a 2nd round pick back from the team we trade down with at 5, 7, or 8. The bengals have said they won't trade Palmer..I don't know how that situation will work out. Or by your post do you mean that the Bengals trade us Palmer & their second rd. pick to jump up to our spot?..i'm not sure what you meant by your post..sorry.
  19. After listening to Carson Palmer pretty much declare that he'll never play for the bengals again and is willing to essentially sit out, what effect do you think this would have on the draft? The Bengals should be in panic mode right now b/c if Palmer goes, who's their back up? Jordan Palmer? Don't they wish they still had fitzy!? Anyway, the bengals pick right after us at 4..but right after the bengals, we have Arizona at 5, San Fran at 7, and Tennessee at 8...ALL of these teams could seriously be looking for a QB. If the Bengals realize that Palmer isn't coming back, their interest in Cam Newton/Gabbert at #4 should probably increase exponentially. That being said, the Bills could possibly use this as an opportunity to trade with either Arizona, San Fran, or Tennesee so one of these three teams can be assured of getting their QB at #3 before the Bengals pick. Though I'm not 100% sold on trading down, it would be extremely hard to not trade down for example with arizona since that would mean we'd be gettting back at least an extra 2nd rounder...The chances of at least ONE of the following, Dareus, Quinn or Fairley being there at 5 would still be extremely high, imo. If I'm the bills, and at the end of the day I have Dareus/Quinn/Fairley rated as 1a, 1b, 1c..meaning that it's THAT close...i'd probably just trade down if the option presents itself. I for one hope that Palmer sticks to his guns, b/c at the very least it gives us more leverage/trading power come draft day. Thoughts?
  20. LOL. Exactly. The scouts are actually being kind. The statement should simply read: "Needs to learn how to play QB." It's really quite simple folks. Cam Newton has a SINGLE season as a starting QB in DivI. Adding insult to injury, during that SINGLE season, Cam Newton had a WHOPPING 280 pass attempts..not completions..ATTEMPTS. He had 21 pass attempts a game. LOL. 3rd pick? But ya, he can run too!...blah. His shenanigans on the field at Auburn won't come so easily in the NFL, and he's going to have to THROW the ball - that is after all what QB's do. Ok, I'm done with my anti-Cam rhetoric for the day.
  21. D A R E U S! It's as clear as day for me.
  22. i would much rather have Martez Wilson from Illinois; also, big on my list as a good, solid player with not much hype is colin mccarthy from Miami - EXCELLENT tackler...i still can't decide if I would prefer Sturdivant or mccarthy in the 3rd..
  23. ..and rightfully so. At this point, I'd rather draft Cam at #3 over Peterson..and for me, that's saying a lot. On a sidenote, does anyone else notice that the "fastest times ever" at the combine are primarily all by much older/different generation-type players? I'm calling BS. Players have only gotten faster/stronger since Bo Jackson/Alexander Wright. IMO, timing mechanisms have changed...or those times were misrecorded for whatever reason.
