  1. if we were to go the non-DL/LB route w/ the first pick, I'd rather then just take AJ Green at that point at #3 over a CB.
  2. it'll probably remain a 4-3/3-4 hybrid that several successful teams employ, and which we employed to a certain extent last year...which means that players like Bowers shouldn't be dismissed from possible consideration.
  3. lmao. i still say Dirty has some type of mental condition, in addition to having the maturity of a 10yr old. I wonder what some of the leaders in the locker room think? This guy is supposed to lead men? I have nothing against Dirty, and he does seem like a nice guy (probably b/c he acts like a 10yr old)..someone needs to sit him down and have a talk..or take him to a high-end strip joint/escort service..anything.
  4. 1. This makes sanchez look like a complete loser. NFL starting QB in NYC and you date a H.S. chick, who's not even that good looking!!?? 2. I know Sanchez was in trouble in USC w/some sexual assault charge that never came to be (when he was a freshman)...and now he's dating a chick in H.S. Maybe he's got some "issue"? 3. To the guy who said that there's only a 5 yr age difference..i hear ya, but it's not just about the number: again, he's an NFL starting QB and she's in H.S. WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY HAVE IN COMMON? 4. As for the people who question the girl's parents for letting her be out-and-about until the wee hours of the morning. Lets be real, if your 17yr old daughter told you that she was dating Mark Sanchez, you'd ejaculate yourself and pray to god that Dirty Sanchez does her Dirty and you have a little Sanchez Jr. running around so your daughter can collect $30,000/mo. in financial support for the rest of her life......at the very minimum, you'll be getting free Jets tix for a while...
  5. lol. keep telling yourself that. you keep stating "the importance" of 1st round WR's while failing to mention that with the exception of 2-3, all of these "1st round WR" were drafted in the middle to late first round. Why don't you highlight all of the WR's on the playoff teams over the past ten years that have been drafted after the 1st round compared to WR drafted in the first round and see what results you come up with. We won't even get into how many of them were drafted in the top 5. I already know the answer. Cheers.
  6. you need to recognize the difference between the 3rd overall pick in the draft and a regular "1st round pick," b/c there is a difference. drafting a WR at 25, when you have other pieces in place is one thing, and drafting a WR at 3 when you have 10 other holes is a completely different animal.
  7. the best cover corner in the league is a good pass rusher
  8. What would we call it every time he threw an INT?
  9. lol. you're crazy.
  10. more stats against drafting a WR at #3: top 5 2010 receiving leaders by yds: 1. Brandon LLoyd: 4th round 2. Roddy White: 1st round - 27th pick 3. REg Wayne: 1st round - 30th pick 4. Greg Jennings: 2nd round 5. Mike Wallace: 3rd round 2009: 1. Andre Johnson: 1st round, 3rd overall (no playoffs) 2. Wes Welker: undrafted 3. Miles Austin: undrafted 4. Sidney Rice: 2nd round 5. Randy Moss: 1st round, 21st 2008: 1. Andre Johnson: 1st round, 3rd overall (no playoffs) 2. Larry Fitzgerald: 1st round, 3rd overall 3. Steve Smith: 3rd round 4. Roddy White: 1st round - 27th pick 5. Calvin Johnson: 1st round - 2nd pick (no playoffs) 2007: 1. Reg Wayne: 27th pick 2. Randy Moss: 21st pick 3. Ochocinco: 2nd round 4. Fitzgerald: 3rd overall 5. Owens: 3rd round 2006: 1. Ochocinco: 3rd round 2. Marvin Harrison: 1st round, 19th 3. Roy Williams: 1st round, 7th (no playoffs) 4. Reg Wayne: 1st round, 30th 5. Donald Driver: 7th round Are these "bogus parameters" too? I'd keep on going, but i'm tired of proving my point. Out of all those players, only 3 have been drafted in the top 5 overall(Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, and Andre Johnson) and only has been on a successful team: Fitzgerald. And don't come back with the "1st round argument"...lets not compare a player drafted in the top 5 of the first round to one drafted at 20+. Feel free to keep on going with the search, b/c I'm done with it. Drafting a WR at #3 is a WASTE. WR is COMPLETELY dependant on the QB and OL to have success, and to make matters worse, you have to pay this completely dependant player premier money..something the bills are ill-equipped to do.
  11. bogus parameters? dude, i think a decade is a good sample. how far back do you want me to go? you go back 20yrs then if you have nothing better to do. who honestly cares about your arguments about holmes/fitzgerald/keyshawn, none of your gibberish above disproves anything. My parameters were simple enough, you don't like them, come up with your own. We're not talking about a simple "1st round WR"..we're talking about drafting a WR w/ the top 3 pick, and having to pay WR (of all positions) a top 3 salary. You're completely missing the point.
  12. Solution: Don't draft AJ Green. With the exception of Keyshawn Johnson and Plaxico Burress, no super bowl winning team in the past ten years has had a WR drafted in the top 10, let alone the top 5. As for Keyshawn Johnson and the Super Bowl winning Bucs from the 2002 season, the Bucs didn't draft Keyshawn, he was drafted 1st overall by the Jets in 1996. As for Plaxico Burress and the Super Bowl winning Giants from the 2007 season, the Giants didn't draft Plaxico, he was drafted 8th overall by the Steelers in 2000. Going even further, if you take the time to look at the WR's on these super bowl winning teams, the vast majority of them weren't even drafted in the 1st round-most were drafted early second round (I didn't keep track, but you can go look for yourself). Also, a large portion were also drafted after the 5th rounds. This agains applies to this year's teams in the Super Bowl, so despite the winner, it'll be another season where a champion does not have a top 10 WR. So again, solution = don't draft AJ Green.
  13. it was an example, nothin is ever an absolute either way..i realize that. what set the Lions back 10 years ultimately was drafting Harrington in 2002 or 2001..whenever it was, culminated by drating useless WR's.
  14. That depends on who's doing the ranking. It's not as if AJ Green is ranked 1 and Fairley/dareus/bowers would be ranked 20-25. I do see a correlation. For a team like the Bills, WR is a luxury pick, much like Spiller was last year, and much like all of those WR's were luxury picks for a team (detroit) who didn't have a defense or o-line (much like the bills of today).
  15. I don't completely disagree with you, but with the exception of the Brady & Manning in your list above (who are beyond simply being "franchise QBs" and enter the realm of legendary players), it can also be said that it's extremely difficult to win a super bowl without a dominating defense. Each and every one of those teams you listed above, again with the exception of Manning/colts and to an extent Brady/Pats, all had an exceptional defense (the saints D was second in the league in 2009 w/39 turnovers, though they did give up yards). To me this franchise QB talk is used too often. Give me a dominating defense, a smart QB who can operate the Offense, and you'll have a shot to win every year.
  16. i like AJ Green, but on THIS bills team, I'd take Dareus/Quinn/Bowers/Fairley all before AJ. Why? Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, Mike Williams, and Calvin Johnson...and detroit is still nowhere to be seen. Detroit drafts Suh: instantly better. End of story.
  17. We pick 3rd, and not one of the QB's in this draft are even close to being top 3 talent. So unless you want to trade down to the 12-15 range to draft Newton, than drafting any of these QBs at 3 would be a waste. Also, it's funny how the likes of Gabbert all of a sudden become popular as the draft approaches..you know why? Because this year's draft class is THAT weak. Gabbert anywhere in the top 15 is a joke History has no bearing on what any of these QB's will do in the future...there's no crystal ball, and there's no fancy equation that'll guarantee any success.
  18. First and only reason why the Bills will not draft a QB at #3: none of the QB's in this draft are worth a sh#t.
  19. I know, but you look at our DL and we have 1 legit starter - KW. Stroud will be gone/sucks and spencer johnson isn't exactly tearing it up. I admit it probably won't happen, but it's not that much of a stretch to say that we could draft 2 DL. LDE: Alex Carrington/Paea NT: Kyle Williams/Troup RDE: Marcell Dareus/ spencer johnson SLB: FA / Kelsay (cut maybin) MLB: FA / Draft WLB: resign Paul P JLB: Moats/draft
