  1. I read that as wanny sugar-coating the following: The players did not execute and failed to show up the second half. I really didn't take anything else out of that.
  2. That's right. And at this point he's the league leader in TD's with a 2-2 record. The sky is surely falling. If people spent more time defending Bills players as much as they do the opponent's players this board would be a lot better. Your post is the perfect example of "grass is greener syndrome". wow.
  3. this was a RANKING. it's impossible to have a RANKING without comparing him to OTHER QB'S and looking at RAW NUMBERS.
  4. Where does Vick rank? he's got one less INT than Fitz and 6 less TD's. he probably has Kolb ahead of Fitz as well. There's talent for sure at the RB position..and solid O-linemen...but talking about pure talent on the offense? I'm not sure. What did Chandler ever do before he came to the Bills? How much 1st or even 2nd round talent do we have at TE or WR?
  5. he's not the only defensive coach in the league that is not on the field...again, it comes down to preparation and player execution. there's plenty to get on wanny about so far, but i don't really care if he's on the field or in the booth.
  6. Fumble by spiller before the half...fumble by FJ while down 28-21...Fitz's third INT were all bad, but 45 points in 1.5 quarters? We all know who led the charge down that rabbit hole... You'd be hard-pressed to find me a 13yr old Madden nerd who can put up 45 points in 1.5 quarters. 99% of our convo this week should have been focused on the Defense and it's coach and not on the offense and its QB.
  7. who cares if wanny coaches from the international space station. mario needs to get to the QB and the LB's need to make plays. i really don't thinnk it matters. it comes down to players executing imo.
  8. LMAO..LOVE IT MAN. thanks.
  9. I hear ya man. Regarding #2: it was sad to see Scott completely lost in coverage on that play. No clue. Probably the easiest TD Gronk will have in his career - him and Brady were playing catch at the park on that play. Regarding #1: I woul'dve preferred seeing FJ on that play just bc freddy has been always one to fight for the extra yard or two...felt bad for CJ though..
  10. keep crying man.
  11. I think Stevie is a #1 on quite a few teams in the NFL (including ours)...the thing is, he wouldn't be a #1 in Texas, Atlanta, Detroit, Arizona and some other places. Just because Megatron is better than Stevie doesn't automatically make Stevie a #2 in my eyes. He's good enough to be a #1 but he's just not a premier WR imo - he's not physical enough or fast enough to compete with the Fitzgeralds/Megatrons of the world (not knocking him really) but few are. I think Stevie is good enough to win with. We just haven't had much else in terms of WR depth the last couple of years..bunch of scrubs really. Hopefully Graham can develope into a nice 1A/2 WR...
  12. lol...the first time i saw that was for the Oakland Raiders.
  13. what about spikes' hit on Chandler? i understand Chandler was free to get hit, but Spikes clearly went high to his head. i personally hate Spikes, !@#$ing scum. still remember when he played for florida and intentionally stuck his finger in the opponent's eye while they were on a pile. scumbag.
  14. Parcells was able to take a very average QB in Quincy Carter and go to the playoffs. Carter was released for drug issues. But don't fool yourself into think that if a young Parcells was coaching this team, we wouldn't be winning with Fitz. That being said, what coach is going to bench their starting QB after the team is 2-2 and the QB leads the league in TDs? We don't have Steve Young or a high 1st round talent (or any drafted QB) waiting in the wings to supplant Fitz. So what exactly do you want to do? I could maybe see if we were 0-4 and the offense was averaging 10 points a game. We're 6th in the NFL in scoring. As of right this second, you're barking up the wrong tree looking for Plan B's. The real plan B would be to have a top 10 defense, but I guess you wouldn't be able to address that problem as easily as saying "fitz sucks, replace him". Nope, that would be a bit tougher schematically speaking, requiring much more thought and a substantially longer post.
  15. Drhockey: let's hope that works to our advantage. I hope they overlook us.
  16. Matthews bag: ur point is understood. I think that goes directly to what chan said about the team not being mentally tough. The defense should never give up so many consecutive TD's and the offense could have responded with more points. A complete breakdown by the entire team, including coaches. This team may need a shrink more than anything else vs the pats. Losing something like 17 of 18 to a single opponent in todays NFL is nuts. Should never happen. They're always waiting for other shoe to drop vs pats..and even vs jets
  17. I'm just hoping that this Defense comes out with energy after the record-setting embrrassment against the Pats. 1. Stop the run and make Alex Smith beat us though he may very well do that by passing it to Vernon Davis all day long; 2. We need to run the ball effectively; 3. Fitz (and the bills in general) need to keep turnovers at an absolute minimum; 4. We're going to need either a special teams td or some kind of big scoring play from our defense b/c those kind of plays are huge for momentum If 3 of those 4 happen we have a really good shot of maybe pulling out a squeaker like 17-14 or 20-17. I'm also hoping that the 49ers are going back home a little overconfident after the beating they gave the Jets. Games like this can be dangerous vs. clear favorites like the 49ers will be in this game.
  18. So in other words, just concentrate on the negative all the time? There are only a handful of "elite" NFL QB's in the league that can do it week in and week out at an "elite" level...very little separates QB's after the top 5 or so. The only things that separate those other teams in the end revolve around the team as a whole: defense, special teams, coaching, etc. THAT is where we are FAR off the mark...not at QB. I completely agree. 4 games is a solid benchmark though. For all we know, the defense could be ranked top 5 next 4 games and the offense 28th...we'll see how it pans out. But for now, the disparity between offensive and defensive production on the Bills is pretty telling.
  19. That's taking into account a draft a couple of years ago that was practically all defense; two of the last 1st round picks being defensive players; and the signing of Mario Williams. Great times.
  20. 1. Bills offense ranks #6 in points scored; #6 in points/game (28.8); 11th in yards/game. 2. The Bills offense has scored a total of 115 points which ranks #6 in the NFL. With 12 TD's, Fitzpatrick accounts for 73% of the Bills SCORING. By comparison, the #1 team New England has 134 points of offense: BRADY with 8 TD's (1 rushing) accounts for 41% of the Patriots scoring; The #2 team Houston has 126 points on offense: Schaub with 7 TD's accounts for 38% of the Texams' scoring; The #3 team Atlanta has 124 points on offense: Ryan with 12 TD's (1 rushing) accounts for 67% of the Falcons' scoring; The #4 team Washington has 123 points on offfense; RGIII with 8 TD's (4 rushing) accounts for 45% of the Redskins' scoring; The #5 team Baltimore has 121 points on offense; Flacco with 8 TD's (1 rushing) accounts for 46% of the Ravens' scoring These stats aren't completely indicative of the truth (they're not meant to be), b/c they don't give credit for a QB driving his team 80yds down the field and then having the RB score from two yards out. However, what these stats DO tell us is how valuable Fitz has been to this team this season - he has generated 73% of our total scoring. Even more telling perhaps, these stats tell us how we have not been a well balanced offense this season and some attention needs to be brought to the play calling. Too much relying on the pass, IMO, when you have threats like FJ and Spiller who are worlds better than Stevie or any WR threat we have. Just throwing it out there..something to keep an eye on as the season continues. (if anyone else wants to continue down the list and maybe do the next 5 or so teams feel free...i'd be curious to know where others stand).
  21. oh give it up. put alex smith on the bills and lets see where he takes us. Put Fitz in SF and Alex in Buffalo and see who has more success. But since we can't argue hypotheticals: http://espn.go.com/n...ssingTouchdowns Fitz "TD" Patrick.
  22. Now Fitz isn't mobile either? Is thigpen Vick now? As for the breather..LMFAO..ya, Thigpen I'm sure will be creating 10 play 90yd drives on a REGULAR basis..great post man.
  23. When were the dogs called off in the NE game exactly? Just curious. As for the Jets game: I'm sure in a divisional game in their home opener, the Jets WANTED us to score on them and not shut us out..they weren't trying at all. Rex Ryan of all people felt sympathy towards the Bills.. http://espn.go.com/n...ssingTouchdowns
