your exactly right with textbook: if we are able to give CJ and Freddy a combined 40-50 total touches in the game, this offense will be putting up a lot of points. As an offense, that's EXACTLY what we want - they're our best offensive players. Nobody should be complaining that we dump it off to the RB's all day long - THAT'S WHAT WE WANT.

Jackson has to be activated and start the next game

To me the answer to your last statment is simple: on a message board, the simplest solution is to just replace the QB. It requires no critical thinking. Just replace Fitz and our pain will end. Why? Because instead of losing 35-34, the game will be over in teh 1st quarter and we'll lose 45 - 3. Pain is gone. -

Ya, I wouldn't really disagree with you with your above statement. My main concern is that turnovers are going to happen on the offense no matter who is the QB. Obviously you want to limit them, but they happen. The problem is that any kind of turnover on this team is pretty much an automatic 6 points by the opponent. Nobody here was ever saying that Fitz is great or a top shelf QB in this league. However, wasn't our defense supposed to be much improved? Maybe the best DL in the NFL??..Lmao. Horrid. -
You know what i'm referring to, don't be silly. Im referring to the SCHEME.

Completely agree. the problem in these boards is that the defense's problems can't be resolved by simply saying: replace Mario. By replacing fitz, however, we'll magically be able to score 45 points a game. -
papazoid: that's the entire structure of our offense. we're not the ravens' offense, we're more like the Pats' offense, except we don't have Brady. If you don't like this kind of offense, you better get rid of Gailey

1. Where does our defense rank this season? 2. Where does our offense rank this season? I get it.

Was that INT a pick 6? How many yds did the Titans have to go in order to get the lead? 10? 20? 30? 40? 50? 52 perhaps? I'm not sure how this football thing works. Is a Defense supposed to prevent the other team from scoring? Or do they just run around? Please explain - I'm confused. -
Newsflash: the Defense gave up the lead and 35 points, not Fitz. Fitz wasn't playing LB after the INT. Was the INT on the 20yd line? The 10yd line? Did the game end right there after the INT? Was it a pick 6? Did they not have to drive 52yds? Is it too much to ask a PRO Defense to not give up 35 points at home against a Titans offense led by Matt Hasselback? Newsflash: This defense is the worst in the NFL. Stop with the nonsense. Just like a 21-7 lead halfway through the 3rd quarter at home vs. the Pats wasn't good enough either.

I simply don't agree with this mentality...ya, ANY kind of turnover sucks, but it's not an excuse to just roll over and !@#$ing die and give up the lead with 1 minute to go AT HOME. The INT didn't occur on the Bills 20 yd line. The titans, led by Joe Montanta, still had to drive more than 50yds to score.

It's funny how history get rewritten on message boards. TD pass to Jones - 15 yds in the air. TD pass to Stevie - 27 yds (prob about 20 were in air) So ya, I'd say you did not see something. Next you'll say that the defense wasn't that bad either right? They made some really big plays against Tom Brady..i mean Matt Hasselback.

Average defense/below average defense, lets say 20th or so, and pretty good chance we're 5-2 right now (and in first place). Like another poster said, Fitz with a bad defense is a losing combination since Fitz isn't good enough to make up the difference. Fitz with a good defense and you'd have a good shot to win pretty much every single week. But, since replacing/changing the defense is too difficult a task, fans simply focus most of their anger on Fitz - it becomes the easiest target. There's no doubt in my mind that if we run the ball on 3rd down and punt it away, the Titans drive the entire length of the field and score anyway. No doubt in my mind...why? Because it's almost impossible for the Bills to make a simple stop on 3 downs, and down right impossible for them to do so when a team goes for it on 4th as well. If I were an opposing team, every drive would be a 4 down drive..teams would get 10yds vs this sad group in 4 attempts 95% of the time.

Really? Well it's hard to get much worse now isn't it?

Pretty much. Also, as sad is it is: does Kelsay have as many sacks as Mario now? -

EXACTLY. Gailey isn't an idiot (though that may be up for debate still), we're throwing there b/c we NEED that first down. Do people honestly think this defense wouldn't have given up an 80yd drive to win the game if we punted? the titans wouuld've probably done it in about 6 plays at the rate we give up yards.. This offense simply has no room for error pretty much every single game. -

I bet their reserves will easily score about 14 points on us in teh 4th quarter. -
"when it mattered most" 34 points at home isn't good enough? Tell me, when "did it matter most" for the defense? Apparently they never got that memo...

I agree with you. At the minimum, if you're freaking hellbent on throwing a pass, throw a screen or a quick slant..something a lot safer. The problems is, how much do you think our pathetic defense plays in the play calling? I can honestly say that maybe Gailey was thinking, ****, if we don't get the first down here, even if we punt the ball, how much confidence do I have on the defense not giving up up an 80yd drive? I dunno man. -

As much as it pains me, I may havve to agree that despite their high draft position, these players just aren't good enough. They couldn't get it done in a 3-4 and they're even worse in a 4-3. On paper, the "talent" is there, but the results are flipping catastrophic. I mean it's not even CLOSE. Players are WIDE OPEN. There's no pressure whatsoever. There are gaping holes everywhere on the DL. Holy crap man. I really don't have words.. -

This defense is an epic disaster. This group of guys are arguably the biggest pile of horse **** i've seen on a field in 30 years. I don't like seeing people lose their job, but Wanny has no business leading this defense. His time has come and gone and he's just not cut out to gameplan against ANY NFL offense. Chris Johnson hadn't had a big game in about a year and Hasselback looked like Joe Montana out there today. This is a disgrace. I don't have words. We drafted Dareus, Sheppard, Gilmore, Williams (DB), Carrington, signed Mario, etc. and we have the worst defense in the NFL? This is beyond unacceptable - it's embarrassing. You give this team a defense that is below average - 20th or so in the league (is that asking for too much?) - and we're !@#$ing 5-2 right now. End of story. Houston will run up and down the field on us for probably 700 yards in two weeks. It will not be quick, it will be painful, and it will be ugly.

this offfense has to walk on !@#$ing egg shells 24/7 b/c every single turnover, be it an INT or a TD, is an automatic 6 !@#$ing points. i don't want to hear it anymore. 3 TD's in a game and one INT..34 points, and we lose. Ya, the INT sucked, but that's what the defense is !@#$ing paid for. They made hasselback look like Tom Brady. And Johnson only has big games once a year or once every two years - when he plays the Bills. Fact of the matter is that if we even had an AVERAGE, not great, AVERAGE defense, we'd easily be 5-2 right now. You guys just deflect your anger in the wrong direction. -
