  1. I'd say football is rather simple: Score TD's on offense; Prevent TD's on Defense. I'd say it's pretty important...not the be all end all, but it's high up there..lol
  2. Not bad for someone who ranks 18th in salary among NFL QB's: 1. Peyton Manning, Broncos - $19.2 2. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers - $17 3. Michael Vick, Eagles - $16 4. Tom Brady, Patriots - $15.7 5. Eli Manning, Giants - $15.27 6. Drew Brees, Saints - $14.4 (Franchise Tagged in 2012) 7. Phillip Rivers, Chargers - $14.04 8. Sam Bradford, Rams - $13 9. Kevin Kolb, Cardinals - $12.6 10. Matthew Stafford, Lions - $12 11. Matt Ryan, Falcons - $12 12. Mark Sanchez, Jets - $11.64 13. Tony Romo, Cowboys - $11.17 14. Aaron Rodgers, Packers - $10.83 15. Carson Palmer, Raiders - $10.75 16. Matt Cassel, Chiefs - $10.5 17. Jay Cutler, Bears - $10 18. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bills - $9.8 19. Matt Schaub, Texans - $8 20. Alex Smith, 49ers - $8 (new contract for 2012) 21. Matt Hasselbeck, Titans - $6.67 22. Matt Flynn, Seahawks - $6.5 23. Joe Flacco, Ravens - $6 24. Andrew Luck, Colts - $5.9 25. Cam Newton, Panthers - $5.5 26. Robert Griffin, Redskins - $5.4 27. Josh Freeman, Bucs - $5.2 28. Chad Henne, Jaguars - $3.38 29. David Garrard, Dolphins - $3.35 30. Brandon Weeden, Browns - $2.8 31. Christian Ponder, Vikings - $2.54 32. Andy Dalton, Bengals - $1.3
  3. lol..that's silly. TD passes are the "wrong stat" now? Fitz is on pace for 27TD passes this season and the "correct stat" is 6.6yds per attempt? this entire conversation says more about the posters on here than it does anything else
  4. LOL..it's pointless to argue with people like him.
  5. i really feel for Wood but i agree w/getting a replacement. calling him injury prone is an understatement - he has piss-poor luck. poor fella. hopefully it's nothing season ending and he's only out a week or two, but it didn't look good at all...
  6. lol ...don't forget the jets too..
  7. how many more wins would we have with a defense that gave up 14 fewer points a game? at the end of the day, it's just a very average, to below average team. when the offense performs well, the defense stinks; when the defense does well, the offense stinks; when the defense and offense are both OK, the special teams stink...at the end of the day we do just enough to lose games. just bad.
  8. the easiest thing at this point is to fire everyone....however, i'm kinda tired of seeing a coaching change every 3 yrs like clockwork.
  9. unless we trade up to 1-3 in the draft, no QB we take next year in the draft is going to start from day 1..i think that can be taken to the bank...mid-season/end of season, who knows depending on how it's going. but ya, either way, Fitz will be starter next year, Week 1.
  10. this is one game i'd prefer not to touch with money. both teams are below average but can be unpredictable (in a good way) at times. i could see Jax winning by 10 just as easily as I can see the bills winning by 10. no thanks.
  11. i wouldn't like it b/c of where we're picking (prob 8-14)..to me he's a late 1st round/early 2nd round QB. he's got major accuracy issues. i'd be happier with best player available when we pick in 1st round, and that best player sure as heck won't be wilson in that spot.
  12. pretty much on point here. not sure why this is so hard for people to understand. Chan and Fitz are joined at the hip. short of back to back 4 int games, fitz isn't sitting.
  13. this guy is horrible horrible horrible vs. the run and now he can't get to the QB..no thanks.
  14. ya i definitely thought of that...but a DE taken 8-14 isn't going to break the bank...pass rush is also a position i'd rather overpay for b/c you can never have too much of it. unfortunately for us, we've had very little of it. outside of teo, there isn't a LB worth taking top 10. i can't see us going DB again in the 1st round; i also don't see us going DT in the 1st round...looking at the players that are coming out this year and the fact that we're probably going to pick 8-14, I think it's obvious the pick is going to be DE, LB, or QB with the 1st pick and about 1% chance of anything else.
  15. i pretty much agree with everything you just said. i really am not crazy about ANY of the QB's in this year's draft. Though I do think Geno is going to be good.
  16. Jarvis Jones is probably better suited for a 3-4 defense, but ya the guy is a beast. However, i think the german tank is the best DE in this draft and would look awesome playing across from mario williams and/or rotaing in with anderson.
  17. lol..that was for dramatic effect on my part.
  18. very strong possibility that we pick a QB in one of the first two rounds, however, I can't see Geno being there when we pick; and i want nothing to do with Barkley - nothing. Tyler Wilson in the 3rd round sounds more appealing, or trade back into the 2nd to get him. outside of Geno Smith i'm not crazy about any of the QB's in this year's draft
  19. 1. Bjoern Werner - DE - FSU - 6'4 256. A german tank. You can never have enough DE's..especially when half the ones you got are average. 2. Tyler Eifert - TE - ND - 6'5 252. 3. Justin Hunter - WR - TEN - 6'4 200 4. Matt Elam - SS - Florida - 5'10 202 5. Manti Te'o - LB - ND - 6'2 255 If we could get 2 of those 5 in the first 2 rounds i'd be extremely happy. Post yours! Obviously I'd love Geno Smith but no way we're getting him, considering we'll be picking anywhere between 8-14. He'll be gone 1 or 2 probably.
  20. this team has so many issues i don't know where to begin: 1. it all starts with chan - he relies on the passing game way too much. 2. we don't have a true #1 WR/premier WR. SJ's catch yesterday should've been taken to the house being that he had 3 steps on the DB. Our WR had like 3 drops yesterday to boot. 3. our LB's are piss-poor. 4. Fitz is too inconsistent...he'll hit 8 or 9 in a row and then he'll go 2 - 12. 5. Our O-line can't pass protect for longer than 2.5 seconds. 6. Our O-line has no balls and can never convert a 3rd and short. We're soft. 7. We have a kicker who apparently can't even attempt a 50yd FG in a !@#$ING DOME??
  21. as i've said before, this team needs a RT. Neither Pears or Hairston cut it if a play takes longer than 2.5 seconds to develop.
  22. Stafford has simply failed to meet expectations. #1 overall pick and after 4 years 1 playoff appearance.. He's closer to the "bust" label than he is to sniffing the playoffs again. Stafford: 2,988yds 12 TD, 10INT Fitzpatrick: 2,179yds, 17TD, 10INT I wonder what numbers Stafford would put up here in Buffalo without Calvin Johnson.
