  1. You can put me in the optimist club too.
  2. Yeah and that is best case scenario.
  3. Proves my point. Turley is high on pain killers during the game. These guys are dopamine/adreline/thrill seeking junkies. You can piss and moan all day about the money and danger to teammates but this is Football and the human factor is never going away.
  4. Life's like a box chocolates?
  5. Of course. It just doesn't show up in basketball players for some reason. Wonder how much of that money he would gladly give back so that his wife doesn't have to put his Johnson back in his pants after he goes to bathroom. everyone is so fond of using that as a rational for why it just is what it is and "they took the money?"
  6. Plenty of professional athletes have been on the field under the influence of various substances. There is footage of Hollywood Henderson pulling a vile of coke "flavored" water out of his pants to do a bump on the field during a game. As far as pot is concerned it would not surprise me if there are players who fly under the radar and take a hit before the game every Sunday. All the people who smoke pot aren't stoners who are baked on the couch all day. Once they pass the summer test and as long as they don't show up wasted no one knows. Ever heard the term functioning alcoholic/addict. If you think I am off my rocker, there is a river in Egypt called da Nile.
  7. Really? i would say the majority of people who drink alcohol and take pain killers, especially of the opiate variety, are getting high. Just ask your health care provider. Nice!
  8. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/presents18969358/tinderization-today-nba Just like in Football and Baseball there was a time when beer was kept in the clubhouse and consumed at half time in Basketball also. Hockey has the most lenient drug policy towards Marijuana and is doing quite well. This belief that players are going to show up baked is over the top. This isn't going to turn into "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", where Marcel and Karlos are out in the van in the parking lot before games smoking big blunts. All this sanctimonious rhetoric is astounding when you maybe stop to consider the behavior of heroes past, namely Kelly and company. How many hangovers did Jim and Bruce play through? Hold up your hands please if you believe Hollywood Henderson or Michael Irvin were the only ones doing blow. The most outrageous on many levels though is the Pirate pitcher who threw a no-hitter while tripping on acid. The 60 Minutes piece is incredible. He was tripping his (fill in the blank) off and tossed a perfect game! Just a little food for thought.....
  9. I told you the Bills should stop hiring ex-Steelers
  10. Over/under on this thread starting again before the season?
  11. A child is suffering and the only thing that comes to some people's minds is Karlos could pay for this if he had just put the pipe down. My God! How crass and compassionate is that? Why doesn't Pegs just cut a check? He is paying plenty of other people to not work. Why doesn't this country just take care of its citizens?
  12. I think the word you were looking for is chasm, but your point is well made.
  13. Thank you. Peterman may get the job and we aren't drafting sixth unless we bundle the picks and I don't believe we will.
  14. This is where I was leaning. Would you rather have Bill or Marv?
  15. Once again the free market system has gone off the rails.
  16. Pretty much sums it up. The number of pages devoted to one man's foot another man's PERCEIVED ego is astounding. The Bills have made the right play here. They will still be in the driver's seat at the end of the season as far as Watkins. It will cost an extra 3 million +\- but that isn't going to break the bank like 13 million would if Watkins is as fragile this year as his first three have been. This is hard for a lot of people to understand because rarely has OBD made sound business decisions. The sky is not falling, we are not rebuilding and WE will have our eighth win on December 3 and pick up number nine when we THUMP Indy.
  17. Still fired, the role of GM has changed. Today's winners are coach driven. The game is so specialized that teams need to be built to specifically fit the nuances of each coach's scheme. Whaley fell in love with talent and it wound up being his undoing.
  18. Bingo. People will say we haven't seen a game yet so how can you fathom such a crazy idea but I think we can all agree the circus has left town and the new regime looks organized and buttoned down. It is going to be a long four months.
  19. And a broken clock is right twice a day.
  20. Read "When The Clock Runs Out" and you will understand more about Aaron Williams.
  21. you are just now figuring that out?
