  1. Nobody can argue with that, so sick of people saying he will be ruined some how if he sits for a while.
  2. We haven't had one of those record games like we had in the past. You know like, giving up 300 yards rushing and passing in the same game or losing a game with the Jets having the most penalty yards since some team called the Yanks or something. The run defense has been a bright spot.
  3. I've said it before but EJ is Jason Campbell 2.0. The games he can win are when you run for 150-200 yards, your defense gets you a few turnovers and even then the game will probably be close. Surrounding him with weapons--our runningbacks and receivers is like glueing a bunch of plastic/ground effects on a Chevy Cavalier---it looks OK but its still a Cavalier, its not a sports car. And EJ is not an NFL QB you are going to win with.
  4. I agree, EJ plays scared. Compare Fitz's scramble to anything you've seen from EJ. The passes still have the float/he's aiming them look to them. He's not only inaccurate but he doesnt see the field well. He lacks situational awareness. It isnt fair to the other players who busted their ass all off season to waste the season hoping Manuel gets better. The D shutdown their running game--again....produced turnovers and we still lose. There's one glaring reason and it needs changed.
  5. Instead of "EJ basher", I prefer the term people who know football.
  6. Cue Herm Edwards.........
  7. With regards to Gilmore and McKelvin, the next pro bowl either one of these former first round picks goes to....they'll have tickets.
  8. EJ will be given the whole year to evaluate wether he is our future or not. That being said, here's what I see that I don't like: 1. His athleticism is vastly overrated. For a guy with a size similar to Cam, he doesnt have 25% of the athletic ability of Cam, Kap or Wilson. Watch those guys, especially Wilson, he usually decides to run very quickly, there isnt any hesitation, he see's the D is giving him the run and he takes it. The other 2 can use the read option to make up for what they lack as passers. They bring 500-800 yards rushing, but with EJ we have to be worried about him getting hurt as if he's some 38 year old Bledsoe not a 240lb, 24 year old. We have an inside handoff with no read or option. 2. I agree with what Jimbo said during the telecast, EJ needs to step into the throws, too often it looks like he's aiming it. 3. On the screens, he doesnt suck the D in enough, he throws it too quickly and its usually lofted too much, allowing the opposing team time to get to the RB. 4. He does have a little Trentative in him, too quick to go to the checkdown. But those dump offs help his completion %. 5. The deep ball is just not his strong suit, nor is throwing over the middle into tight windows......not good going forward. 6. Not sure about him going to his 2nd and 3rd options on routes, he does seem to frequently lock in on a guy. Also not sure about his situational awareness. So it seems if the D has a plus 2 or 3 in the turnover battle and we rush for close to 200 yards a game we can win with EJ. To that I say you can with just about anybody at QB. As for his development, what I want to see is a 350 yard 3 TD game and soon. Weve surrounded him with a good stable of RBs, the 1st WR in the draft, an early 2nd round WR and a 3rd WR who has put up 1000 yard seasons with double digit TDs. Chandler is adequate. This isnt your Daddy's NFL where blowing up the WR over the middle was a great play by the D, now its a hit on a defenseless receiver and the drive continues, defensive holding, blows to the head we all know about. I dont think putting up one of those games in asking too much. That would be development. The 225 yard, 1TD game....look at the box scores anybody can put up those numbers.
  9. If you're going to run up the middle in the red zone, you better have a line that can push the pile and we seem to be lacking that. The throw over the middle into a tight window......not exactly EJ's wheelhouse. The corner fade usually seems to go OB. I know Marrone wants to limit the read option, and EJ doesnt keep it much. To me the place to use it and give the D something else to worry about it, is closer to the goalline. The one thing EJ has going for him over an elite QB is that hes young and supposedly athletic. He should be able to bring that advantage and do a couple of keepers or bootlegs like he did in Chicago. The time to risk the QB running is when 6 points is only yards away.
  10. The Bills can definetly win this game. To me, the key is to bring the heat on Rivers. What separates Rivers from the truly elite QBs(Rodgers,Manning, Brees), is that he can put up a few absolute turd games. He's not the most mobile guy, he can force some throws where he can rack up some multiple INT games, and the way he holds the ball can lead to it being stripped. RATTLE RIVERS!!!!!
  11. Im going to have to disagree with this too. I live in central Pennsylvania, also known as Pennsyltucky or the Alabama betwen Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. There is Wegmans in State College(home of Penn State), anyways when they make a Buffalo style pizza they label it as *spicy cup pepperoni pizza* and next to it will have what they think is a pizza with this razor thin pepperoni that is just terrible coupled with a bland sauce. Buffalo pepperoni is pretty unique. Sub rolls down here are often just slabs of dough they proof a little, then throw in the oven, that are 6 inches wide it the middle, overloaded with lettuce. I think I miss a good heated sub more than anything. People actually think a ten pack of oscar meyer or whatever are actual hotdogs...ever eat one of these off a grill?...no self respecting Buffalonian would consider it, you will miss a Ted's and Sahlens. Pickles AND relish on the same hotdog....unheard of. I had tried to introduce people to Beef on Weck and they do get it.....but getting Weck rolls is neary impossible unless I make a trip back to Buffalo. And I dont cook a roast like Shwabels(sp?).
  12. I've always thought the Bills leaving was pretty much a load of crap . Really, think about it, does Buffalo tarp their upper deck routinely in the regular season like Jacksonville? The Raiders, in that piece of crap 60s stadium, with that owner who has it in his blood to move to greener pastures. Both way more prime candidates for relocation than the Bills. Toronto had their audition and it failed miserably. You can even throw San Diego in, with a tax base not crazy about higher taxes, with Los Angeles ready to pounce on a built in fan base for the Chargers. Buffalo fans, don't sell yourselves short. We're are still here despite 14 years---the longest playoff drought in team history.....Buffalo Bills team history. Yes, we are still here. Still rooting with all our hearts. I'm no cynic, but I will call em' like I see em', and it hasn't been pretty in Bill's land for some time. But it does warm my Buffalo heart to read this. I say this as someone who moved away...and here's something you rarely hear, I wish I was back tomorrow. This opening day is so special, against MIami by fate. This is definetly Mr. Wilson's time This is a time to honor the man, who built this amazing fan base. Put aside the kool-aid drinkers vs. the realists for this weekend. That's different opinions about the front office and coaching....it wouldnt be interesting if we all agreed... bottom line......we are all fans or we would'nt be here. Go Bills!!!! Squish the Fish!!!!!
  13. Didnt some high school have both Robert Woods and Marquise Lee? Holy crap!!!!!
  14. Whaley gets the Buffalo connection with Graham and Williams where Dixie Nix never considered that or we would have Gronk instead of Troup. For as much as we get crapped on with players who want out of Buffalo, there are quality NFL players who would be perfectly happy playing here.
  15. Totally agree EJ has to run more. If Nate wants this to be a ball control offense, he has to use the read option with EJ taking it around the corner every now and then. He needs opposing defenses to respect that. Just a few for first downs with EJ running will open other things up.
  16. I got to take a big piece, was up in Buffalo for a birthday, got some new Bills hats and clothing and will wear is proudly. Also screw the refs who were trying to screw the Bills.
  17. And my point was, yes every QB we have had since Kelly has been given an opportunity to show what they had, and not much of it was good. Nobody has been run of out town who shouldnt of been run out of town.
  18. Yes nothing generates clicks in the national media like stories about the Bills front office, I suppose he will do a story about dysfunction in the Jags front office next and 20 diehard Jacksonville fans will flock there.
  19. The factory of badness heads into year 15 of futility.......
  20. Yeah I hated how we ran Kelly out of town. We havent got rid of any QB since who has gone on to great things.
  21. Manning was healthier than EJ last year. I dont know off the top of my head what our record the last 10 years against the Pats is but Im going to go out on a limb and say its not too good and Rogers is great.
  22. It's definetly a big game. Every time I look at our schedule and see 3 of the last 4 against Manning, Brady and Rogers I think about every loss before that. If we lose to the Bears, realistically we would have to go 8-3 the rest of the way before the last 4 games to get to 9-7 and sniff the playoffs
  23. Live in the heart of Stiller country. I dont hate or love them, enjoy the rivalry with the Ravens. I do respect their organization however.....complete 180 of the Bills. Constantly think about the draft they got Big Ben and we ended up with JP. And watching the Ravens(we get the division games) I curse, rue, hate whoever was responsible for taking Whitner when just about every mock draft had Ngata going to the Bills with that pick. I also think about Lebeau being the head coach, but that ship sailed years and years ago.
