Actually just looked at the standings. Texans are 6-2. I thought they were 5-3. Solidly need the Jets to win -

Im rooting against the Jets. I love the train wreck, and honestly, the worse it gets, the worse it will be in the forseeable future for them... The Jets also have a lot of *easy games coming up and could go on a mini-run. Don't want to deal with hearing about that. Houston has a number of difficult games left. They are going to get their losses. -
Yes, but also, people shouldnt be scared to finish the turkey off in the oven if need to get over the finish line.

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
May Day 10 replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Much like Tre, I feel like Diggs' game relies heavily on the knee joint. Quick cuts and changes in direction. When I had my ACL done, they got me back to being "active" in 6 months. It took about another year to really get through all the physical and mental limitations with it when it came to playing sports. Its really difficult and frustrating. Its going to be tough for Diggs to come back all the way from, based on his contract status, age, and position. The trade from the Bills standpoint is a massive win now. -
I like Seattle, the seahawks, and geno Smith. I hope they become and nfc spoiler

I think you are both right. Rodgers is a huge problem, but ultimately, it was Woody Johnson who demanded the shiny toys and capitulated this whole organization to this mega-brain QB. The Salah firing was also a bad move IMO as their defense seems to have taken a few steps back since then (and from what I have observed, he seems to be a popular players' coach there and they generally battled for him) A prudent team would have seen they had a scrappy team with high-end young players and been able to go out and get someone like Baker Mayfield, Cousins, Carr, etc and they would be much better for it. They have basically ruined the opportunity window for their young players, and some are regressing. Gifting so much clout and cap to Rodgers was such a mistake. I think it is going to get ugly there (if it isnt already) between players. Rodgers took and took, skipped mini camp, talks a big game, makes excuse after excuse, throws teammates under the bus, and has run out of runway.

Looking at the jets forum. It's pretty unanimously angry at the jets, but people seem to drift a bit when pinning blame. Surprised at how many people are defending Rodgers in this. He came in with his mega brain nonsense, they had to cater their promising, young, rebuilt team to his every whim, and hasn't delivered one bit. Skipping mini camp to go to Egypt is great. You watch them, and Rodgers looks like the most limited qb in the nfl. He cannot move at all, and the second there is any pressure, he panics. It's like an unathletic Tua with a downgraded version of hill and waddle with an even worse o-line

Looks like a textbook acl tear

Thursday Night Football - Vikings at Rams
May Day 10 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hated the baseball review process when it was first rolled out for things other than home runs. However, they have streamlined it a great deal and I have to say, it's not obstrusive at all. The minor league batter challenging balls and strikes process is instant. I feel like there should be something that captures a completely obvious game-determining face mask tackle. In the bills/jets game there was some sort of eye in the sky thing correcting calls left and right (haven't noticed it before or since). However, if there is a safety there, and a pinky brushes up against the face mask... I don't need a half hour review with the game on the line. -
the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
May Day 10 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
They were dealt a bad hand from the start, and they had that smoke and mirrors flukey 1st season that raised expectations -
That is a pretty simple way to look at it, but true. It isn't that far-fetched for them to win all 4 (3 of them at home, 2 vs the Patriots who look terrible right now) I cant imagine the Jets or Dolphins winning games at that high of a clip (both are in awful losing skids). You'd also need the Bills to lose-the-table vs Seattle, Colts, Rams, Chiefs, Lions, and 49ers

It being so early is a bad thing though (although I'm not complaining). Still a lot of season left. At this point, I see Miami as a bigger threat just because their team may drastically change overnight when they get Tua back, and they have a half-game lead over NY. They also have a decent stretch of winnable games ahead (Cardinals, Rams, Raiders, Patriots, with the Bills game mixed in there. Say they beat the Bills and win 3 of those 4 "easy" games, that takes the tiebreaker away and they are suddenly 6-5, which doesn't leave a lot of room for error with the Bills. But if the Bills can win that home game, that is a ton of space to make-up in 10 games. The Jets just look ill, but their schedule is manageable. 2-5 is a pretty big hole. If the Bills can hold serve in that home-game, the jets would essentially have to go like 8-1 in their other games just to have a chance, and thats with the Bills being pretty disappointing. Miami and the Jets also have to play each other twice. If they split, thats awful for them In short, if the Bills can hold-serve against the Dolphins and Jets at home, it would be very hard to lose the Division.

KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate
May Day 10 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is no Allen/Mahomes debate outside of Buffalo. Honestly, there should be. Its a similar thing to Brady vs Manning. By all eyeball (and even many statistical) measures, Manning should have been considered a better QB. Brady and the Patriots always seemed to get it done. It became universally accepted at some point that Brady was automatically better. QB comparisons are too-often team-comparisons. Maybe he was? Maybe Mahomes is. Mahomes has that ice where a big game is on the line and he seems to get things done over and over.... All the injuries, short week, everything else, in the Divisional round, Allen had the ball in an advantageous position to put Mahomes and the Chiefs away. He didn't (Diggs drop aside). Seemed to make 2 poor decisions setting up an unpredictable Bass FG attempt and giving the Chiefs a lot of time if they needed to score. If Mahomes was the Bills QB, I feel like he snakes that game out and the other side feels like they had their lunch stolen. -
If Brian Daboll gets fired, would you take him as OC?
May Day 10 replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most fans were wondering out loud if the bills should move on from dabol. They were struggling that season, remembering the Jacksonville game. The offense was a machine in the playoffs though. It's a waste of time to talk about imo. McDermott and Daboll are philosophically different, and it's clear there is/was a strained relationship. Personally, I think I'd be really happy with him as oc based on his past performance and history with Allen -
Rodgers looks extremely limited. Their inability to run at all is a critical failure with such a limited QB. They are also losing players to injury left and right. They had a good build going. Some top end young players. They should have invested in the offensive line and also got a reasonably available qb like Darnell, Mayfield, carr, etc. Instead they catered to and seemingly wasted all that opportunity on Aaron Rodgers. I don't think it could have gone any worse. Quinnen Williams also seems to have taken a long vacation after getting paid. That doesn't help

Woody Johnson better make some more moves this week. The season is slipping away
