Really no reason to be a dooche about it - but hey, whatever floats your boat. It wasn't that serious, and again, I didnt get the story from the article, it was being quoted on other Bills pages, and I grabbed the first link I found to avoid retyping the quote so I could copy and paste it. If it turns out that their source was also this link and it didn't happen, so be it. But giving all the attitude about it really wasn't necessary. I own 2 businesses and have 2 kids, doing an internet sleuth due diligence on everything in a society full of misleading stuff is not always in the cards.

I don't think we are far off in what we think about Terry, my original comments were his comparison against guys who at their peak were considered top 5 at their positions in their era or even all time (well still not sure what Rice he was talking about lol). I really do like Terry, so don't want my post to confuse that. And I don't really disagree with much of what you are saying either and totally get your point and perspective.

With or without this workup, I already felt their best case scenario was the 3 seed at best, and would not reach the AFCCG and snap their 7 consecutive trips to the AFCCG streak. But good write up none the less. Some have them being even better this year, but I don't think its the case. Playoffs sure - but I don't think they will beat either Balt or Buff in the playoffs, and I think they will face one of them in the 2nd round and that will be their exit.

Yeah, regardless if this exact quote was accurate or not, Keon has said plenty of great things this offseason that are verified, including taking the criticism professionally and even provided his own criticism of himself. Allen saying Keon was on him all offseason on how to be better and more in tune with what he wants too, etc. He is doing all the right things and saying all the right things so far and its at least showing up on the field thus far in camp. Lots to prove when the real games begin, but its encouraging to see, hear, and read about his development thus far this offseason.

For perspective - Stevie Johnson has 3 consecutive seasons of 1000 yards and he wasn't very good. When there isnt much to work with, you can still stack production. Now Terry is definitely better than Stevie, but I don't think he is that uncoverable guy either. Dont get me wrong though, I really like Terry, was a fan of him coming out and wanted us to draft him too. But I just don't think he is the league of the guys he listed, some of which were some of the best in their era or ever at their respective positions.

DJ Moore is a guy I would be more inclined to go get. He is a guy that can be a top 10 WR in a better situation IMHO, maybe top 5 if he got to play with an elite QB. He has top end traits, and produced despite the lack of quality QB play his whole career. As I have stated before, I do like Terry, and not against getting him on the Bills. But he isn't a guy that is on the level on which he reportedly wants to be paid, and I don't think the net gain of what we would have to lose to make it work is enough to make the move realistic. Moore is a guy I would consider more than Terry though.

I am not against a go to guy in crunch time, but Terry is not in the class of those guys IMHO. These are guys who get open no matter what kind of attention they get and can be open even when not open. As much as I like Terry, I just can't view him in the same lense you presenting him in right now. Side note - In terms of "more offense is the key" some things I always come back to are the best offenses in NFL history. In 2007 the Pats were the #1 offense in NFL history, an undefeated regular season team, and then got shut down by the DL of the Giants and lost to a mediocre QB in the SB. In 2013, Broncos were the new #1 offense in NFL history and got crushed in the SB by a young game managing QB against a top D and run game in Seattle and scored just 8 points in a blowout loss. Most of the top 10 offenses in NFL history didn't win or even reach a SB. All gas has not proven to be a lock for SB success. That doesn't mean you shouldn't have a go to guy, not saying that at all. I am more saying that more offense doesn't mask the lack of defense, in fact, it usually doesn't work. Gronk played with the best defensive mind in NFL history and Pats more often than not had a strong defense that got stronger in the postseason thanks to BB. Kelce has Chris Jones (and others) and Spags on the other side who have been critical in sealing playoff wins and SB wins. AJ Brown won a SB after they totally rebuilt the defense and added an elite RB to their stellar OL, lost and struggled to get back when the D wasn't as strong. Kupp had maybe the best DT in history, a potent front 7, and one of the best corners in history anchoring his defense which also won the SB for them on the field. Thomas won a SB with the lowest rated QB in the league that year (Manning) and the worst winning QB performance in SB history with the ghost of Manning because of the D and run game. 2 years earlier as the #1 offense in NFL history they got blown out by Seattle who had a mediocre young QB at the time in a 2nd year Wilson still growing as a QB and more a game manager on a run first team. Rice - Not sure if you mean Jerry or Rashee - But Rashee had the same defensive pieces Kelce has had and Jerry had an excellent defense with multiple HOF'ers on it and some considered to be the GOAT at their respecitve positions on both sides of the ball, including Rice himself. So not discrediting what you are saying, but all of these players had elite talent and/or strong defenses on the other side of the ball when they all won SB's. And when they did NOT have the complimentary defense, they mostly lost or didn't reach Super Bowls. So I think this conclusion they were a critical catalyst lacks context of the rosters they played on.

Calm down, no one is intentionally "promoting clickbait pages", and this link is NOT where I found the story. The story, not the link, was being discussed on a number of Bills and Bills Mafia pages I am a member of. All I did was do a quick search and found the first link I could find just so I could copy and paste the quote instead of typing it. Does it mean its 100% real, no, but I also had no reason to believe the story was false before I looked for a link. What I do know is it aligns with things he and Allen have both stated all offseason in his commitment. End of the day, this is a minor story, real or not, in what was already a stellar offseason. Its not the kind of story that is worth the time to go and literally watch the hours and hours of Keon interviews to see if this was something he really said in one of those. If you want to, great, but I won't be as the story isn't that important. Was just sharing something that seemed like a fun story that was showing up in some other places I follow.

I will say 1 and 3 are pretty accurate, they don't like his podcast and he is definitely a liability in the run game. He the next Derrick Thomas, not the next Bruch Smith. Not sure about 2 either. That being said, he has great value as being an elite pass rusher even with being a liability in the run game. So if Dallas truly entertains a trade offer here, they could get an offer to tempting to refuse while also not having to pay him what he will command salary wise. Still think its a low probability he gets traded, but there is enough here that I think teams will call and at least put Jones at a decision point and make this interesting to say the least. The biggest issue is the teams with the cap room cant afford to give up the draft assets as teams still rebuilding, and the teams where he puts them over the top have cap issues and ramifications to figure out while also losing picks that are a key part of their future without a lot of cap space to make moves. So its not going to be a lot of teams who can lineup here either given the cost to acquire and cost to pay. Will one of them offer enough to tempt Jerry is gonna be the question. NOTE: Jerry also has an ego to manage here - there is a big difference in Jerry making the decision to trade someone and the perception that someone else forced his hand and took control by demanding the trade. Will Jerry be more or less keen on trading him now that Parsons made a big public demand and statement about it? I am not so sure that "helped" his cause.

I remain skeptical he gets traded at all - but reading this, well this feels like a guy who really is done with an organization. But that still doesn't mean it isn't fixable, money talks, just look at Myles for example. Would I love to see Parsons on the Bills - of course. Do I think its realistic (assuming he was actually traded) - not really between the cost to acquire and the cap implications. Would I rule it out - no, Beane has proven to find ways to make things work when he wanted them to. But I am also pretty excited and optimistic about our existing front 7 and don't feel as desperate to a deal like this like I was before the draft when guys like Myles, Trey, etc were allegedly available and wanting out. Myles > Parsons too as he can defend the run and is less of a PR issue without the podcast. So not sure I would be stoked about some of the offers people are proposing in this thread.

Kudos for being able to acknowledge potential and progress when you see it even when you have had previous concerns. Seems like nothing, but not a lot of people capable of that around here. Thats being a fan, where its fair to have concerns but also not so married to those concerns and opinions that you can't even acknowledge positive developments. He still has to prove it on the field when the games get real, but its refreshing to see someone not just married to their initial opinion and open to seeing him for what he is doing at any given moment. It also makes it more exciting to hear coming from someone who both saw it in person and also previously had concerns about him. Means he is really making an impression and its not just camp fodder. Again, still has to prove it on the field when the season starts, but I was already in the camp expecting a breakout of sorts by him, so seeing your post adds to that optimism. Cheers

Would I be ecstatic if we landed Parsons - yes. Do I think it will happen - no. Also don’t love some of these over the top trade offers being thrown out either. But most importantly - I doubt he leaves Dallas.

Good post. I think Keon is poised for a breakout of sorts this year, but that’s just my opinion. What matters more are the signs and facts that the kid is putting in the work and effort when it matters to reach his potential and be the best player he can be on the field. And what’s been abundantly clear this offseason is that not only has he taken the criticism professionally, but he’s out there doing the work to be the best he can be. And for a second year player, that’s the most you can ask for and hope that reaching his potential turns out to equal a player who can start and help us win games.

I don’t disagree, what ever unit is on the field in crunch time needs to get the job done. But the point was WR was not any of the reasons we lost the AFCCG. The receivers were open on the final series, but the execution elsewhere on the offense prevented the extension of the drive. Tipped balls at LOS, confused by blitz, etc - so this notion others (not you) keep saying that our Achilles heal in our loss was the WR group just isn’t accurate to what happened on the field. Refs, injuries, the defense, and failed execution by other players who are not WRs were all complicit in that loss. So it’s not just simply get another WR and poof we win, especially given the WRs all got open on that final series and Allen failed to convert and get them the ball, including the last play that had Shakir wide open off the snap for an easy first down but Allen couldn’t see or go that way because of the misaligned protection when we were fooled by Spags once again.

And lets not pretend Dallas has a good FO either. Doesn't mean they won't pay Parsons, but this is NOT the same thing as Commanders and Terry. The Commanders have a rookie contract at QB, one that will be IN PLACE the ENTIRETY of the new deal Terry wants. So cap is NOT an issue with the Commanders, its 100% simply what they are WILLING to pay him - and so far, they have not been wiling to get close to his demands to the point a trade has not been requested. If they were at least close, I doubt it gets to a public trade demand. And we are talking about a team with a 2nd year QB, with huge expectations. The last thing they would want is their top WR missing valuable time with the team on such an important sophmore season. YET - here they are, unwilling to budge to the point Terry has requested a trade. SF went through this same dilemma with Aiyuk. Then caved under the pressure of a potential SB roster to immediately regret it and have to get rid of Deebo and still tried to trade Aiyuk again after they paid him and Purdy. That is what happens when you pay a guy above what his tier of player he is. Aiyuk is a good player, but he isn't in the elite tier either. And now signing Aiyuk has cost them Deebo - and SF has a much better W/L record with Deebo than without, more so than any other player on the offense outside the QB. With Deebo their W/L is .642 and in the 19 games he was hurt it is .421 which no other player other than QB has impacted their win % as much as Deebo has, not even CMC. Niners no longer have Deebo, a guy who has been very important to their offense including losing every game he has missed since 2023, because they caved on Aiyuk. There are consequences to these deals. And at the same time, they don't magically make you score more points either. Meanwhile Bengals with a lethal duo of Chase and Higgins for their elite QB to play with haven't made the playoffs the past 2 seasons and have the same amount of Lombardi trophies Allen has. And the one time they made the SB, it wasn't because of the offense which was pedestrian in both the AFCCG and Super Bowl, it was their defense the held KC to just 3 points in the 2nd half allowing the offense to do just enough to win. Then in the SB, the game ended in Burrows hands with that elite WR group to throw to.

That was after the refs flipped the game by 11-15 points the drive before that when they stole a first down from us twice on the same series on 2nd and 4th down. A game we lost by 3. Now add in Elam having to play, Kincaid being hurt, WR's wide open on the final series on multiple plays where offensive execution didn't complete the play through tipped balls at LOS and misread blitzes, and the clear answer is that WR was not the magic missing ingredient. Refs, injuries, and failed execution to get wide open WR's the ball were our issue. And again we still should have won that game if not for the 11-15 point swing in the middle of the 4th in a game we were at the time winning and in scoring range already. So respectfully disagree this was on the offense. The defense continuously puts the offense in a position to have to be perfect to SAVE the game or bail out defensive failures. That needs to end first and foremost as “needing” the offense to be perfect isn’t a reliable way to win in the playoffs against other strong teams.

Bengals offense with Chase and HIggins with Burrow is pretty meh in games too. This is the NFL, teams are paid good money to slow offenses down too, adding a WR does not ever change that. To expect an offense to be humming start to finish in a game is incredibly unrealistic. Wasn't just trash, we gave up over 30 to a team that did not score 30 in any other game the entire season and post season that was also down 38-0 at one point in its next game. The only reason this play happened is because the refs stole a first down from us in the 4th and flipped the game by 11-15 points. With a lead and in scoring position we not once, but twice, got a clear first down on the same series. Now add in Kincaid was playing hurt, we had to play Elam who got abused, etc and again WR doesn't seem to be our biggest issue. Also add in that we had WR's wide open multiple times on the final series, including the play to Kincaid, and again, the issue wasn't the WR, it was the offensive execution that failed to get them the ball between tipped passes, missed blitz pickups etc. We had the highest PPG in the AFC playoffs. More than Baltimore. How were we not in position to go blow for blow against another elite offense? You see, that is the nature of the game when TWO elite offenses go head to head, its often a close game with lots of points scored. We won. I am always for adding talent, and we did get better clearly IMHO in terms of weapons for Allen between both the additions and having guys like Keon more experienced, and guys healthy again as well. But this idea just adding another WR equals more points is not how it works. Diggs is a better WR than Terry and we averaged less points when Diggs was here. Its not the end all be all solution it gets made out to be. Defense however has been a massive achilles heal in all of playoff exits. 2024 no team in the AFC averaged more points per game than the Bills in either the regular season or the playoffs. Yet we were eliminated by allowing a team to score over 30 that failed to score 30 in any other game on the entire season.

Its not lazy, its just pointless because we already know where each other stand and nothing we say will change the others mind. My time is limited, so going round and round in a pointless discussion that just had a silly response already that didn't even address what I really wrote is not something I felt had any value to either of us. You seem to believe more in individual talent - I believe more in group make up that watched teams like KC and Pats build dynasties. So I don't share your sentiment about our WR room, just like I didn't agree last year when people said the offense was going to go backwards and yet it was historically good, best in Bills history, and Allens first MVP. And quite honestly, we should have made the SB last year if not for the refs flipping the game in the 4th by 11-15 points that we eventually lost by only 3. Its all good, but agree to disagree here is where I am at as there is nothing this discussion will change about either of our individual opinions that hasn't been said 1000 times the past 12 months already. But - last thing I will say is that I am always for adding talent, where I push back is this delusion that gets pushed here that another WR automatically means the greatest offense in Bills history magically scores more, and that is not how it works. We had a better WR than Terry in Diggs and scored less. We scored 31 ppg last year in a season many here predicted the offense was going to be worse because we lost our top 2 WRs. Now to ask this team to go out and score even more puts us in top 10 offense of all time category level of points, that is not at all easily accomplished and its crystal clear to me just how disconnected many people here are with the realism of what that actually takes and means on an NFL field. On top top of that, most of the top 10 offenses didn't win a SB either, or even make one - so its not the end all be all solution many incorrectly assume it to be. So again, agree to disagree. There is nothing anyone can ever say to me to convince me that defense wasnt our biggest issue just like nothing I can say to you will make you feel differently about how badly you think we need another WR. End of the day, we simply do not see the WR room the same, but more importantly we definitely do not see the issues of our playoff exits the same which to me has way more to do with our defense than offense. I don't disagree, he will. But the point is, they don't think he is worth it. Guys like JJ, Hill, Chase, etc didn't have teams not willing to pay them at the top of the market. They got their deals done easily. Guys like Terry, Aiyuk, etc have to fight for their money because their teams don't think they are worth the money but cave due to the team also being a SB contender with QB's on rookie deals. The point is, if Terry was worth that the Commanders could have easily just gave it to him, they can do it easier than anyone else too. They feel its too much for what is a good, but not great, WR. And now people want the Bills to over pay for a guy that will screw our cap up moving forward who is about to be 30. The amount of overpay people are always willing to do here for a WR is crazy to me.

We scored plenty of points against KC - but its never enough. To ask us to keep scoring even more points is a lot harder (as it takes entire drives, multiple plays, etc) than simply making just ONE more play on defense to get KC off the field one more time preventing a scoring drive in games we lost by 1 score.

Terry isn't worth the money some of you want to pay him. He isn't a top 3 WR, about to be 30, yet people want to pay his $33M per? I like Terry, wouldn't be upset if he was a Bill, but I can't see Beane both trading both a valued trade asset and then also paying what is a good (but not great) WR top 3 money who is on the wrong end of his career spectrum. Its telling that his own team, one with lofty expectations and a QB who will be on a rookie deal during the entire time of Terrys new deal, doesn't want to pay him that either. If there is a team that can pay him that its the Commanders - and they don't want to. But no doubt this thread gets long before he most likely stays in Washington for what most people expect to be a team to challenge for a division title and a good playoff run. Anything is possible, maybe Beane surprises here, but given how fond they are of our current offense and group combined with what Terry wants, it just feels quite unlikely that we would try and feels even more unlikely the Commanders would actually go through with any trade given they have big expectations this year and a QB that would be on a rookie deal during Terrys new deal.

I was more thinking first one fired after the season, but didn’t specify that as didn’t really think about in season. I agree, he prob isn’t fired in season unless they are a total disaster.
