NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
wjag replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't realize the Ravens have lost five in a row at home. Dating back to last year: Packers 31 Ravens 30 Rams 20 Ravens 19 Steelers 16 Ravens 13 Dolphins 42 Ravens 38 Bills 23 Ravens 20 And now here comes the Bengals on SNF In most of those games he relied on analytics and they have backfired. Live on the altar of analytics die on the altar.. -

Watching it live, it's always tough to see what is really happening. But the general sense I had was for all our glowing raves of bringing back Kromer, a game like yesterday was when we really needed to see if improvements were being made. And it was tough sledding. I did here that the entire OLINE was finally back together so maybe just not having a lot of live fire reps can explain some of that. We shall see. -
Entertaining game.

This play was wild. They just said on the Pats broadcast that Romo/Nance will be in Buffalo this week. One other thing, the clock management at the end of the game was brilliant. The Ravens fans were livid when they realized what was happening. Kudos to Dorsey for the last two first downs to salt that game away. -

It was fun in my section. You could feel the game changing. We had a LOT of VOCAL Ravens fans in my area. They were talking trash and loudly. But that drive to end the first half really turned the tide in that game. The running back room had a rough day. Singletary with drops and a fumble. Cook drops (not seeing "it" with him so far) and Moss running for few yards. -

So Harbaughs explanation was interesting. He said taking the FG there would expose his defense to 4 down territory all the way down the field. If they don't make it, they leave Buffalo at the 1 yard line. That's the beauty of analytics as they don't properly weight turnovers and MOMENTUM. -

I think those were defensive holding calls, not PIs. -

The AfterGlow 1. Just got back in from the game. Bills fans swarmed that Baltimore Stadium, There were lots of empty seats. Shame on you Baltimore 2. Shut them out in second half!!!!! 3. Poyer with the play of the game 4. What a rough start, but that drive to end the first was huge. 5. Seemed to me as the weather worsened, it was harder on Baltimore than Buffalo 6. Surprised the passing game struggled so much 7. Same old run game. Just struggles to open up real holes 8. Down two more WRs. The injuries on this team, sheesh 9. Heard Harbaughs explanation for why they eschewed the FG. Not sure I agree with the decision. 10. How the f! did NYJ beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh? 11. Big time tie breaker on a likely division winner. 12. 3-1 sure looks better than 2-2 13. Bring on Pickens. -
Looks to be a wet day. Light rain predicted all day.

Tua clears Concussion Protocol in 30 minutes.....

Should be both inadequate AND not followed. -
NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

I would imagine, giving the opportunity to say it over, McDaniels would not say "more serious". I think we all know he meant paralysis. Just an awful sound bite repeating over and over today though. -
I have a hard time believing and independent neurologist cleared him to play if he was concussed. I know what it looked like, but I just can't get there to be concussed and allowed to play. There are too many checks and balances that would need to be betrayed for that to happen. And it was so overt. It's not like it happened and he was hidden away. Coming back on the field when everyone was watching and asking and questioning.. Something ELSE is going on with him.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

So YOLO, reading the title, what's a "concession" protocol? Is that when he decides to leave the game? 🙂 or should it be a "confession protocol" where he admits he was concussed? 🙂 -

That looked bad when it happened. My first thought was head, back and hand. I hope he is okay. -

The After Blow 1. Tua made the throws when he had to. Waddle got behind the secondary one time and it was the difference in the game. 2. The requiem on this one will be missed opportunities. Missed FG, Gabe in End Zone, End of Half, Milano dropping pick six, etc 3. The Quesenberry holding call was a brutal time to take that. 4. Bills resembling a mash unit. Is anyone left standing after this one? 5. Allen under throwing McKenzie on 4th down was the game. 6. First ever own-team punt block by butt and safety 7. Great game by both teams. The weather definitely played a factor. 8. All the Tua hate in here should go away. He played a decent game. 9. The Noobs in the secondary held up well 10. Moss with a decent run 11. Give the Dolphins credit. They played all day on defense and still won. -
The Bills future is now. Today could be, mind you could be, the beginning of the end for our dynamic safety duo. It will be so weird to have a team without them on it.

I had to detach somewhat this week. My thinking went from too bad Jackson got hurt to thank goodness he walked out of hospital. to, wait Hyde went to hospital to, okay Poyer says they’re good to, well at least our safeties are good to, Hyde is not practicing and getting a second opinion to, Oliver, Hyde, Phillips and Jackson ruled out to, Davis looks dinged and Poyer has a toe. But at least Poyer will be out there. to, Hyde is done for season. to this morning and Poyer is out and Gabe and Settle still a game time decision. sheesh. What a terrible week for the Bills players.

So the Tennessee win is turning into one of THE most expensive wins in Team history. It knocked out 3 DBs and a DT and dinged the TE1.
