These are two bad teams. How’d the Colts beat KC?
-
The world saw him skip a pass to McKenzie. What the world won’t acknowledge is that only TWO players were on the field for all 90 plays. Dion and Josh. Sure their defense was tired, but they were rotating people. Josh was running it and throwing it north of 60 times. He was spent. He couldn’t come out of the game. And that throw proved it. The narrative will continue that he missed a wide open guy to win the game. I saw Nick Wright use that pass as a reason Josh should not be MVP. Others will to when they try to make a point. Don’t acknowledge the forest, just focus on a single tree.

I have very clear memories of Jerry Butler doing it. He was the first I remember doing it (probably not the first, just the first I remember). Yeah I'm not buying it.

Orlovsky: Bills have become one of best screen teams
wjag replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
REALLY!!!!! Not unless we are redefining the screen play. If throwing a quick out to the boundary is included. Okay. But if the traditional sweep of a QB dropping deep to suck in the DT/DLs while guards and linemen are setting up, then NO. HELL NO. -
WHY I LOVED THE BALTIMORE WIN When you looked at the schedule on release, 4 of 6 on road, B2B Primetime national games to start, and worthy competition, I circled the Bills-Ravens as the most important game before the Bills-Chiefs. Here was/is my thinking. 1. I think everyone recognizes the challenge of playing Baltimore in Baltimore. You could expect a tough, competitive game. 2. I believe that Buffalo has more quality players at this moment than Baltimore, but each team possesses and "X" factor QB. 3. Both teams are likely to be Division winners so H2H was uber important 4. I thought that Baltimore with Tucker was a bigger advantage than Buffalo with Bass and this was likely to be a single digit victory for either team 5. And this is the type of game that championship teams win. They outlast the other good team. 6. When you scan the "yeah but who did they play" around Week 14-15, this win will look really good. 7. Confidence. Getting a hard fought, gritty win on the road, with a M*A*S*H unit playing has to really instill confidence in this team. Now go out and follow this up with a blow out of Pittsburgh.

This throw is so good, it deserves its own thread

I really didn't like the tackle. I thought Knox was going to get hurt on that one. -
Lamar Jackson 3rd and Goal run. What is he doing?
wjag replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was Monday Morning QBing this with some Ravens fans. I also said the 3rd down play was the big play. My sense is he slipped on the wet turf. The play was a designed pass and he ran late. Looking at this pix, a WR is alone on the "V". But my guess was that was only after he decided to run. -
yeah but the number of incriminations on this board might have approached epic levels.

As someone who sat through the game, I push back on this. It was raining, but I would never call it a deluge. The third quarter was probably the worst. And even then, it wasn't a driving rain. It must have looked bad on TV, but it wasn’t terrible. I stayed dried the whole game with the thinnest of ponchos on.

As someone point out up thread, KR and PR could be an adventure. Stevenson and Austen? I'd imagine there will be wind, why, because there is always wind.

I was too. And yet the week before, Indy bottled them up. They always say it’s a week to week league and the Chiefs in the last two weeks are a good example of that. That Bills-Chiefs game in two weeks is going to be so over hyped.

NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
wjag replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
But did the math say so? According to Greeny today on his show, the math said it was 0.4% better. They went because Harbaugh did not trust his defense. And I'm here for it. I can never ever ever root for the Cleveland Ravens. -
In the spirit of WIIL-I-AM, I pronounce Canisius as CAN-I-SEE-US.. You're welcome..

NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread

The first clip brought up another observation yesterday. Because the game was so close in the 4th, nobody left. And then when Singletary got the big run a bunch started to stream out. And then when Josh got the first, a bunch more headed for the parking lots. And then the 2 consecutive kneel downs, swarms were heading out. They didn't even stick around to see if Bass missed and the game went into OT. When the game was over, you could absolutely see how many Bills fans were there. Answer, plenty. It was glorious. I had this Ravens fan sitting behind me and my family all game. And he was screaming derogatory stuff about the Bills all game and I mean all game long. "Allen sucks", "Where's Diggs?", "MVP", "Move those chains", "Your defense sucks", etc. It was so satisfying to turn around and celebrate in front of him.. -
New England -- Packers game If you saw the play where BB went ballistic toward the end of the game, can someone explain the clock? As I recall, Rodgers throws all the way to endzone. Looks like a completion, but then ruled incomplete. The clock continues to run and is finally stopped at 2:02 as I recall. They never put time back on the clock and BB was losing his mind, rightfully so.

I REMEMBER this play. I had a perfect view of it from my seats. It was so far away from the scrum as to be obvious. And not called.. -

I didn't realize the Ravens have lost five in a row at home. Dating back to last year: Packers 31 Ravens 30 Rams 20 Ravens 19 Steelers 16 Ravens 13 Dolphins 42 Ravens 38 Bills 23 Ravens 20 And now here comes the Bengals on SNF In most of those games he relied on analytics and they have backfired. Live on the altar of analytics die on the altar.. -

Watching it live, it's always tough to see what is really happening. But the general sense I had was for all our glowing raves of bringing back Kromer, a game like yesterday was when we really needed to see if improvements were being made. And it was tough sledding. I did here that the entire OLINE was finally back together so maybe just not having a lot of live fire reps can explain some of that. We shall see. -
Entertaining game.

Well 13.. They were gifted that first TD 🙂

This play was wild. They just said on the Pats broadcast that Romo/Nance will be in Buffalo this week. One other thing, the clock management at the end of the game was brilliant. The Ravens fans were livid when they realized what was happening. Kudos to Dorsey for the last two first downs to salt that game away.
