Yes, I'm being spiteful.

I keep hearing it too! And I'm still amazed. I know, glass houses, but it is not as if they are in a division with someone with Patriot level dominance. It's the Titans (so much for Mularky), the Texans and the Colts. This was a division won at 9-7. -
Cam is like a cheap plastic folding chair

That's what I thought! Newton is struggling though. Not so much that I would not swap him for Tyrod in a heartbeat (and I like Tyrod) but it's noticable. Then again, so was Aaron Rodgers up until this week. -
As much as I hate Brady, he might be the greatest of all time when it comes to reading a defense and getting the ball out in the perfect spot.

Basically it was this: "Rex, how will you deal with whoever the Patriots use at quarterback?" "Do they have another one of the 0.1% of quarterbacks like Brady who can get rid if the ball in less than 2 seconds and make you pay on a blitz?" "...no?" "So we're going to try to hit him."

Guess Schwartz's next home

Because expectations are not high for San Fran this year. Blaine Gabbert is their starter, Chip used up his bag of tricks with the Eagles. Chip likes to be the star of the show and college let's him do that, and LSU is a plum gig. -
Bills vs. Cardinals Postgame
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen! Believe me, the ability to close out games is a worry to me, but that was a team that is picked as an easy playoff lock by most "experts". For the first time today I saw the team that we were promised this offseason. -
Very happy for Aaron Williams

He done not messed up A-A-Ron!!! -
Alright. I'm a Roman fan, and I don't think he cost us the game. But last night my fiance (a die hard Eagles fan) remarked "this looks like an Andy Reid offense". And as I think about it, dread sets in: having a scripted set of plays that can blow up in your face, throwing short of the marker on 3rd down, an unwillingness to make adjustments if things aren't going well and time mismanagement were all hallmarks of his last year's in Philly. I suddenly terrified. I am now ok with someone else calling the plays.

Does anyone else think there's a chance that they went vanilla because of holding stuff on the preseason and they wanted to hold their tricks for the Jets this Thursday? Because honestly, the TNF games really do not give you down time. And as much as I would have liked to beat the Ravens (and won a bet with a friend) I would much rather beat the Jets.

Elvis Dumervil - OUT vs Bills

I don't want to underestimate them. And they definitely have a stout middle. That said, Shady and Bush's best skill set is running it over the edge. I'd attack there. -
NFL Sunday Ticket 2016
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to KellyToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bluntly? Because there are a busload of qualifiers on top of cement. You have to be a college student or living in an apartment complex or in a metropolitan area being important enough. Otherwise you don't qualify. -
NFL Sunday Ticket 2016

Huh, weird. Using it through normal channels I see the standard $100 for Game Pass. Maybe it's one of those things (like with Netflix) that when you open it up outside of the US they direct you to where there are more options. -
NFL Sunday Ticket 2016

Nice. I tried to do streaming, only to be told I couldnt. I was going to do gamepass anyway, because the tolls alone to go to the bar each week would be close to breaking even. I think I'll give this a look. I have no issue with paying the NFL to watch their content. I'm just annoyed that they insist on restrictions that prevent people from access. -
Marshawn Lynch report
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to CountryCletus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard, but I doubt it. A lot of players feel they have something left in the tank. He might have a little, but I don't see people falling over themselves. The man was wise with his money. He should enjoy his retirement. -
Team restructures E. Woods per Rodak
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Ohiostyle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what makes the most sense to me. Otherwise why do this now? -
I know we have a final score one, so merge if necessary, but I would like to hear guesses on the offense. I think Tyrod has a rough day in pass protection, but scampers for a big run and connects deep on a couple of passes. I think the run game struggles with consistency but with Dumervil out, Suggs in his first game back from an Achilles and the Glenn/Incognito blocking on the edge Shady breaks out some monster gains. Tyrod: 18/25, ~200 yards passing, 2 TD, ~35 yards rushing. Sammy: ~100 yards, 1 TD McCoy: 75-100 yards, 1 TD

Thoughts in the 2016 Receiver Corps
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Socal-805's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When it comes to Sammy, I am not worried. The timeline, even on the worst case scenario had him back week 1. That he only missed a week or 2 of training camp does not bother me. But yeah, I am a bit worried about Goodwin making it the full year. -

Couple things: One, Sammy is a borderline superstar. That can bail you out of a lot. Two, with a good system, you can have an offense more than the sum of its parts. Chip Kelly's first year is a good example. With a (hopefully) healthy Goodwin, you can finally again have two big speed threats on the outside. Tyrod's greatest strength is with the deep ball. If you can stretch the vertical on both sides, that really opens things up for Clay, Woods and Shady. Shady has looked lethal in the short passing game.
