  1. 3-13?
  2. And again - why doesn't anyone think we can do better than Donte? I swear he must have allowed, on average, over a TD catch per game this year. Thats HORRIBLE
  3. Dude, thats not true at all. Most of the time the two position are 100% interchangable, this was very true last season for us in the cover two. In a two deep look, when the TE would go in motion and flop the strongside of the field to the weak side, your safeties dont flop sides of the field also, they simply change their roles, essentially going from the SS to the FS. But, even if I cannot convince you, what about when Whitner DID play FS? Last year when Byrd was out and GW was in, Whitner played FS, When B Scott was in he was at FS. in 2008 he was teh starting FS the whole season IIRC. He didnt make plays at either position,. George Wilson
  4. I dont wanna see our best safety walk in FA. With that said, lets resign George Wilson and show Whitner the door
  5. Bowers strength and techinque are awesome. I have no worries about him at all. I actualyl see him as a 34 end because he does seem to lack top end speed/quickness. Dareus I do like but his ability to get locked up with the blocker does scare me. Clayborne has been great for a while but I thought his conditioning was terrible this year and took a lot of plays off. THAT really scares me bc whats stopping him from cashing in and shutting down once he hits the NFL. Quinn I like a lot and I think could have dominated if he ahd played but who knows. I dont like going off of workouts only. We should get one of these studs regardless though so hopefully doesnt mess up like the Bills have for over 10 years in the 1st round.
  6. Kolb hasnt done enough to prove he is worth much more than the 2nd that was used to draft him. He may be an improvement to Fitz but he may not. I say pass for now.
  7. no because Ralph would have to pay 2 DCs then
  8. I know it is rare to trade a pick, but I'll take my scenario to the extreme. The Bills are super desperate to trade their #3 overall for no explainable reason. They call the Pats who are picking 32nd, and Buddy gets on the line "Bill, we are desperate to trade back, you give us your 32nd overall pick and the 32nd pick in the 7th round and we will give you the 3rd overall pick" My guess is the Patsies say "OK" and do that trade. Now I know thats a horrilbe trade, but it is possilbe to trade back, if you are willing to take less than the trade chart says you should. My point is that chart is stupid because the top picks are grossly over-valued IMO. The chart is followed, which is why if we shopped our pick and took less than the chart said we should get, we could move around much more easliy. If we wanted to drop to the 12th pick and take Quinn/Clayborne/Carimi, and added the 12th pick in the 2nd, the chart says we lost 420 points which equates to the 16th pick in the 2nd. So, we could entice a team to make that trade, by essentially GIVING them a 2nd rounder in percieved "value" of the trade. We get thier tangible 2nd rounder, they get the "value" of a second rounder. I would love to do that trade even though the chart says I am getting screwed, because we need that extra 2nd. My guess is another team (like the Cowboys who pick at 9) would jump all over that trade thinking "WOW what a steal!!!"
  9. I didnt go out and make low-light video of the guy, this is a video a big fan of Von Miller made. What I am saying is these ARE his highlights. If these are his BEST PLAYS - he must be terrible!!
  10. Well their D is bound to get worse.
  11. I dont want to be castrated for bringing him up but I think him and Luck play very very similiar games.
  12. Not great and leaves me desiring an upgrade, but C Green was NOT an upgrade and neither were any of the other scrubs we trotter. Not sure why you would release a guy then go out and spend millions on a worse guy.
  13. He looks exactly like Maybin 2.0 I tried to find a video of Maybin's Penn St highlights but Im not sure if one exists!
  14. The sight lines at the ralph are better then anywhere else I have been, included Baltimore, Foxboro, happy vally, and the dome. The only place cooler than the Ralhp was Air Force's stadium but thats Oranges to Apples. Traffic at teh Ralph is horrible though.
  15. They will ALL be on offensive cooridinator #2 for next season. Tebow, Clausen, and McCoy all lost their HCs and Bradfords OC left town to take over in Cleveland. This always seems to be a "scape goat" excuse as to why a certain QB never developed - like Jason Campbell and our own Losman and Edwards. It may be interesting to see how each improves/regresses from this year to next.
  16. Im not sure what you want me to prove exactly. Here are the wiki pages to the 2010 and 2009 draft. in 2010 the Patsies only used one of their naturally aspire picks, the 2nd rounder for Jermaine Cuningham, and I mis counted, they also used 1 of their own picks in 2009 on Volmer in the 2nd. Meaning in the past 2 years they have traded 12 picks while using 2 (you cant trade compenstory picks its againts the rules) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NFL_Draft If you have a PC, hit "Control F" and type in New england for a search. in 2009 it comes up 66 times and in 2010 in comes up over a hundred times - because their name is listed in each trade they were apart of. the Bills only come up 23 and 19 times to put that in perspective. As for the documentary, his agent says the Broncos either want to trade back with their first pick (which they did) or up with their 2nd 1st rounder (which they also did). He said they had talked to every team between 22 and 28 the week before teh draft to discuss trade options (they executed 2 trades, 1 for D Thomas and 1 for Tebow) Thats a total of 3 seperate trades (because 1 trade up was also one trade into 22-28) they made in the exact fashion they had PLANNED to do before the draft. If you didnt see the show then thats not my fault and I cant prove anything to you but thats what happened and anyone who watched it can vouch for me. My point is if you are willing to accept less in a trade down (see Broncos 1st trade down in 2010) you can do it and if you are willing to overpay (see Broncos trade up for Tebow) you can do it. Everything in life has a price and football is no different.
  17. If you are a QB and Todd McShay likes you you are guaranteed to blow donkey nuts.
  18. I still think to solution is giving the bad teams more picks, not higher ones. Maybe like all teams that have 3 or less wins get an extra 2nd and 4th like they give out the compensatory picks. teams that win 4-7 games gets 3rd and 5th, while playoff teams get nothing extra or even lose their 6 and 7 rounders.
  19. Im calling shenanigans. You think its impossible to trade down like it never happens. Well, the patriots have only used – ONE – of their naturally aspired draft picks in the last 2 drafts. That means they have traded their picks a whopping 13 times!!!! This doesn’t even count all the other teams picks they have acquired and then traded again. Do you really think people love to trade with the Pats but wont even consider doing it with us? How can it be so impossible to trade when one team does it over and over and over? If you saw that Tebow documentary, you would have seen Tebow’s agent talking about all the trades being discussed and predicting the exact trades that were going to happen before the draft, only to have that exact scenario pan out. He said the Broncos had talked about trading back from their first pick (which they did) and that they contacted every single team between 22 and 28 and talked trades, which they ended up doing TWICE. If its so impossible to trade, then how did Denver pull off 3 in the 1st round which they planned on doing over a week in advanced? You are naïve if you think its impossible to trade a pick. In fact, I better every single pick in the first round is offered a trade, its just a matter of accepting the offer or not. That value chart you posted over values high picks IMO. If I am GM, Id take a 3rd rounder to drop back to 10-12 and be very happy about it, yet that chart says I would have gotten screwed. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I would take the extra picks in that case. Maybe Buddy wont be happy with only a 3rd, or a late 2nd, and doesn’t want to trade, but don’t try to argue that no team even discussed a trade with us because that is pure shenanigans.
  20. Love, Cannon and Sherrod are guys that have good value 34th pick. I also don’t think Soldier is very good at all, and neither is Coztanza really. Carimi is the cream of this crop and should be gone in the top half of the draft I should think. I seem to have very different opinions of these tackles than most. I personally don’t think any one of them is a NFL LT. I think Soldier and Coztansa are the clear-cut worst of the group yet they tend to be ranked 1 or 2. I also don’t really like Sherrod and he is another getting a lot of talk as a top T too. Cannon I think if pretty darn good but a lot of people think he has to shift inside to G. One guy I haven’t heard anyone else talk about it James Carpenter from Alabama. I think he would start at RT or G for us next year and may be the best T altogether honestly. I haven’t heard anyone thinking of him as a 3rd rounder so we could even land him in the 4th. I just hope we have a chance at some quality guys and we actually take some quality guys unlike other years Judging by the CBS sports list we could land Love in the 2nd and Carpetender in the late 3rd. Those two paired next to each other on the right side would be an extremely promising sight
  21. No, this is 2010, Lagarent Blunt or Danny Woodhead or this Starks guy could have just as easily acquired those stats and they would have been free. Its also stupid to argue because all those rushing yards is more of a indictment of a quality OL than the skill of the RB. The bills haven’t invested in their OL and part of that is because they have taken 3 RBs the past 7 drafts. Spiller will never be able to achieve awesome statistical success like that when he is splitting carries behind the worst OL in the NFL. Yes I agree. I don’t care about Spillers stats I care about wins. We are trying to build a championship team, that means you don’t put a priority on RB. As the guy below has pointed out, football is a team sport – which is exactly why we should not have drafted spiller. RB is the least important position on the team. Considering we already had Lynch/Jackosn/J. Bell/Chad Simpson, there is no improvement to be made that will help us win a championship. That makes the pick that much dumber. An OL can block for the running backs we already have and protect the QB which we need to do desperately to win. Drafting Spiller is mindless wheel spinning. Exactly, he made tons of plays when he was here in limited action. We still cut him.
  22. Anyone not names Fairely, Bowers, Dareus should not be drafted. Ill make 2 exceptions and that is for Quinn/Clayborne. If we pass on the big 3 we are making a mistake.
  23. If Buddy says he went BPA and he takes Peterson I will know we are screwed because there is no way Peterson is the 3rd best player in the draft. I don’t even think he will be a CB in the NFL honestly. If Nix is a good drafter he should easily be able to see that the BPAs are Bowers, Dareus, and Fairley because of their talents and the position that they play. He *should* discount Green because he is skinny, a bit over rated, and plays the most dependant position in the game, making him useless on a team without a QB (see 2009 Fitzgerald vrs 2010 Fitzgerald). This all would happen if Nix knew what he is doing and had a clue about how to build a winning football team. I still have some severe reservations though, so make me a believer Buddy and just don’t F this up!
  24. All the players that are considered for the first 2 rounds use their hands effectively to get off blocks. Its not a hard concept. Hell its an instinct, when you trip and fall, don’t you put your hands out to catch your fall? Its the same concept. This guy would break his fall with his nose if he trips anything like how he plays football I do expect players to get better, but I do have to wonder why this guy hasn’t learned things most people figure out in high school. Add into that his small stature and frame, he looks like Maybin. He plays just like Maybin did in college too. Don’t tell me he doesn’t when that’s exactly what he does. He is quick and has a burst and tries to run around the tackle but as soon as a OT gets his hands on him he is done. He just swings his arms around. Don’t even bring up his play vrs the run BC its hilarious to watch and makes Keith Ellison look like a HOFer. But he will destroy the combine, great, another combine workout freak. I prefer football players to weight lifters and workout warriors. You can have all the weight lifters and Ill take the football players. Your team will be filled with Maybins and Gholstons Ill have guys like Jerrod Mayo and Brandon Spikes (O no a 5 second 40 time!!!!) and my team will win.
  25. I have to disagree. Ponder looked completely lost for most of this season. He was hesitant and didnt go through his progressions, really Losman-esq I would say. I also dont this he is that physically gifted in terms of arm strength, mobility, or accuracy. He seems very very average, which is exactly how I would describe Fitz, expect Fitz is a smart gamer who can make his reads. Ponder also got injured a good amount this year, and Imo it was because he couldnt figure out where to throw the ball and took a sack (again like Losman). Bad QBs take a ton of hits. Its no surprise a guy like Manning can start for 10 straight years and not miss a game – he is good enough to find the open receiver and not take hits. I struggle to see how he is any type of an upgrade. I also think you over value his draft stock, 4th round, and not with our pick.
