Poz quoted in Wannstache interview
High Mark replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not arguing you in this particular case, because I do agree with you that Poz has noever had any help from his teammates, but that seems to be the reasoning with every single player on the team. "Get Fitz an OL, Get evans better QB, Get Fitz a TE, Get SPiller a OL, get a pass rush and our DBs are better, better DL makes our LBs Better..." It never ends. Eventually we are going to have to get a FEW GOOD PLAYERS who are good all on their own. -
I went with other as I want Luck next year. That doesnt mean I want us to go 0-16, just that I want us to do whatever it takes to get him. I think he could be as good as Rogers.
-
KW would make a better 34 end than 34 NG. Thats because his role as a 34 end would be more like his role as a 43 NG.

how many of you that don't like us taking a corner at 3...

#7 in yellow? Yea, thats him. -
I still think you are a bit confused. Fairly isnt a quick penetrator he is a mean bullrusher type. He will disrupt anywhere along the DL while Dareus gets upfield. That wouldnt put Fairley into the 3 tech per say, but KW has never been the 3 tech for us - he has been a nose guard since his rookie year. You are saying he plays like KW (which I agree with) but then say that puts him at a position KW doesnt play, which is already filled by KW....? I honestly think the best analagy is from last year: Fairley = Suh Dares = McCoy
-
Mayock is the best but does make obvious mistake, IE McCoy over Suh and Thomas over Berry last year. But Mayco said that he just didnt think Suh would be able to manhandle people in the NFL like he did in college, and that he thought McCoys quickness was what set him apart. My guess is he feels the same exact way with these two. Fairley is better than Dareus, but not as good as Suh, while Dareus is better than McCoy, but not better than Suh. Both of these guys would be great 5 techs in the 3-4. Fairley is not a 4-3 only tackle like so many want to belive. He is better suited for 5 tech IMO. Like Seymour. (that poster above had it backwards, Dareus is more Sapp like. not sure if he is misinformed or just a typo)

Have you seen Peterson play? I have and he reminds me of Whitner. What I mean by that is he cant cover. I don't know how or why this guy is touted as the best thing ever. He is like Michal Jenkins coming out a few years ago, or even Antrell Rolle. I dont see him playing CB very long. He will find a home at S. PS I dont want an average to below average S at 3 either Bravo. You should be GM. -
Am I The Only One Who Wants The Bills...
High Mark replied to jjmac's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the 4-3 better for us. I do see the upside of the 3-4 having more versitility/confussion in it. But at the same time I think there is more 4-3 talent coming out of college these days than 3-4 talent, and theoretically you can be bigger in the front 7 by having 4 lineman instead of 4 LBs. Trading back, adding Quinn and Phil Taylor rnd 2 would give us a great 4-3 DL. -
Im sorry man but I think you are off here. the distance from an A Dlineman and a B Dlineman is much greater than at DB. That is because the NFL has fundamentally changed the rules as to what a DB is even allowed to do. I watched Revis allow catched after catch after catch this year despite being the est CB in the game by most in most peoples opinion. Now figure that a guy like K Williams was completely unblockable at times and single handedly kept us in that Pittsburg game, while Troup was a big nothing most of the year. My point is the rules do not allow CBs to do much, so a great corner wont be able to cover the same way a bad corner wont be able to. But a top Dline guy is still unblockable and a B rate guy is just another guy. The O and D line are where the true talent of the football team is (and QB too).

Just get some football players in here and let the scheme pick itself. Williams is a stud, just let him do what he does best. Don't confine him to the scheme "you are the NG, take up two gaps" Let him penetrate like a 5 tech in a Wade Philips 34 or as a 4-3 DT. All this emphasis on scheme when we dont have the personell to run either is just stupid. There are hundreds of good players in this draft and a handful of stud FAs to be. Go get some damned players already.

No Matter Who You Want At #3

Ok well when they draft Miller I am gonna be so pissed because he is going to do ZERO for our pass rush and even less against the run. Not too exciting. -
Carucci: Bills GM Nix likes Cam Newton "a great deal"
High Mark replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, the OL is totally fixed.... PS Carrucci also makes the comment that Buffalo is transitioning back to the 4-3 now that Wanny is here. I didnt think that was the case? That makes me think he is off base and question either of his points. Nix was quoted saying they will play either front, but draft for the 3-4, which makes me think long term we are a 3-4 team (how stupid would it be to play 4-3 and draft for the 34... only the Bills) PPS: I wont be suprised if we draft Gailey pet in Newton, just like we did with Spiller last year. -
Trade back if possible regardless of who is available. If we cant Ill take Bowers please. Him or Fairly. If they are both Gone take Dareus. Miller is a huge bust in the making and Peterson will be a letdown at CB, probably finding his home as an average safety in 3-4 years. My prediction is the Bills take Miller or the Nebraska CB Ndamadookie. Whoever we do take will be a bust, just like our last 10 top picks.

No, he didnt say how many teams he talked to, just that he talked to 6 that did have him #1. He could have talked to all 32, or maybe only 6. Why the hell not, Go Newton! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/10/trent-dilfer-of-cam-newton-workout-phenomenal/

Is Moats the answer? At ROLB - yes

Newton at 3! Sign me up. Id still consider a trade down first though. Hopefully for 2012 draft picks.

Report: Dolphins NT Soliai to hit open market
High Mark replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you can find me a better Dlineman that has a likely chance of hitting free agency Im all ears. He is better than what we have. What we have is a guy playing out of position (improve 2 DL positions in one signing) and a 2nd-year guy who struggled mightily. How is a 4 yr vet that dominated when he got his shot and entering his prime worse than that? This guy was the only player I saw out-muscle Wood all season. Gailey couldnt get his nuts out of his mouth in the post game too. There isnt a better signing the Bills could make. -
I wanna go to Tennessee http://www.utsports.com/tnfund/tnfund-football-training.html

The deciding factor on Newton will be his football acumen. From watching I have no idea if he understnads whats going on around him or if he was able to just dominate physically. That said Im not certain Big Ben is too quick thinking but he makes his money in other ways - which I am sure Newton could do, ie shake off defenders like rag dolls and extending the play. But, I did here Chisec (sp?) on teh radio talking about how inteligent Newton is, and how he does understand coverages and what is happening around him. If Chan can sit down with the kid and decides that he is worthy, then I assume the Panthers will see that too and take him at 1. He is a very intrguing prospect.

I agree 100% that we need a franchise QB but I dont see one in this draft, so I left them out. I also dont think its a good idea to take a project type like Dalton in the 3rd when we could get a starter at multiple other positions. Unfortunately we have to wait another year to get teh QB. Sorry if my wording sucks but I meant move KW to DE and leave Troupe at NG. Taylor and Troup are our 1 and 2 NGs. A lot of people think that since we took Troup last year we shouldnt add another NG this year. I think its silly to expect a 330# man to play all those snaps. As KW would fit better at 5 tech I think it should be our goal to move him there, and addign Taylor in and of itself is a great thing to do. 2 birds, 1 stone kinda deal.

Start WITH Poz. Nix came out and said we are going to draft for the 3-4 but play whatever scheme fits us best at any one time. Whether its 34 or 4-3, Wilson could and would start inside, with Poz playing Inside with him in a 34 or as the Will in the 4-3, where he played the majority of last season. I still think Florence should be the priority over Poz going into the offseason, I think he is better. I also think Merriman will be effective next year.
