  1. Ponder is a 4th/5th ronder caliber QB.
  2. Draft BPA is a joke. There is no way you are so perfect with your scouting year in and year out that you could tell me that teh #2 player on your board is going to be that much better than your 4th, 5th, or 10th. If you need a Dlineman and he isnt the best player on your board, he is 2nd or 3rd best, you still take him. Because after 10 years that player is just as likely to be better than your BPA and vica versa. Im not saying drop down 20 slots to get a position you want, but strictly drafting BPA regardless is stupid.
  3. I like it. Althought I think we could achieve the same goal by sitting tight, and take Ijelana or Sherrod to play LT/RT in the 2nd, and taking James Carpenter in the 3rd to play RT/OG and/or Moffit in the 4th. We need bodies. Bad. Trading back is obviously the best thing we could do.
  4. Who actually believes teh hype?
  5. Maybe, you make some good points. Im not sure what the deal is, the stuff I read are not reliable sources I guess. The only reason I would want to trade for picks next year is to line up and go Ditka on a trade up for Luck. Since the Bills would never do that anyways, its moot.
  6. The best one I have found is Youtube..... But honestly I have thought about starting one with just tons of clips. I figure you would get a ton of hits and lots of people linking in from sites like TSW. This one is ok though: http://draftbreakdown.com/category/features/videos
  7. NoSaint, I don’t think that’s accurate. Every article I have read says that 2012 and other future picks will be tradable (including that long one by the Miami beat writers talking about trading up for Newton). It makes sense because draft picks are not regulated by the CBA at all. Every team gets one every year, and regardless of what happens with the CBA there will be a 2012 draft structured the same as it always has been, with 1 team getting one in every round. The main difference is that teams won’t be able to sign UDFA rookies. That could be a huge underlying factor to the draft, with teams courting UDFAs until they can be signed.
  8. I personally believe that Lockers accuracy issues stem from the same place that yours and mine come from. We just don’t have the God given ability and neither does he. No ammount of coaching can fix your natural ability. Locker is undraftable at this point. Any team that takes him before the 6th round is reaching big time. I wouldn’t even think about him until then, and he likely still wouldn't be the BPA on my board.
  9. Actually, quite the opposite. I am GLAD that 57% of companies got out of paying income taxes. I don’t want companies paying taxes just so the government can waste it on things like bridges to nowhere, art walks, income redistribution, and …. NFL stadiums. The less the government siphons off from successful businesses (that employ people and produce goods and services) the better, because they will be more profitable and thus can hire more people (and not have to fire people) and be able to offer their goods and services at lower prices. Not to mention that publicly traded companies are owned by stockholders, ie you, me, you uncle joe and aunt cherryl, most of the workers pension plans and retirement funds are probably company stock. When the government taxes their profits its money out of those peoples pockets. PS I also think its rediculous that companies can make money with governement credits. Thats as stupid as it gets.
  10. Well, private companies don’t have to open their books (except for to the IRS) but Public companies do (which is why the Packers do) As an (incredibly over) taxed citizen, I think the Gov, who funds a large part of the stadiums, provided security with police, etc, should require teams to open their books for any public funding. I think it’s outrageous that a 9 BILLION dollar a year league gets government money.
  11. I agree with everything you said and its likely the draft plays out that way. Lucky for us BPA should also be one of our biggest needs.
  12. I havent seen him play, but measurable thats pretty ideal for him. I have seen Solder and Coztanza, and I think they are pretty awful. Carimi is the best of the bunch and is a RT., so I can understand why he is moving up. The other guy who looks the part is the Villanova kid Ijelana or whatever. Mayock likes him a lot, thinks he could be a LT too. I am starting to believe that Sherrod, Ijelana, and/or Carimi could be there at 34. Considering this class of Ts is weaker than in years past, and its rare that more than 4 Ts go in the 1st, sitting two picks out of the 1st round is gonna be a great spot for a RT. Ijelana and Sherrod may beat out Bell at LT in a year or two too. If Phil Taylor is there I still go with him thouhg, bc its harder to find a 6'4'' 340lb NG who can move like than than a RT. This is a promising draft so dont F it up for the 12th year in a row Buddy.
  13. There are a handful of FAs who weren’t franchised and who were already cut. Our team already showed some interest in Bod Sanders, and we still could resign GW (my personal hope). Watch GW go to a much better team than ours and start, be a stud, and everyone here will cry about it). Shockey and Shaun Rodgers are also on the market. While all these guys aren’t the best, they are better than what we have and may be all we get a shot at. Nothing is stopping us from adding these guys before March 3rd. I wont remember all their names, but the RTs from Denver Ryan Harris and Atlanta were not franchised. Neither was Blalock, Atlanta’s top G. . I think Matt Light is a FA too. Zach Miller, Kevin Boss, and Owen Daniels didn’t get the tag. Kiwinuka and Gaither are injured guys that didn’t get the tag. Charles Johnson is a great 43 DE who doesn’t really fit our “Scheme Diverse” approach but would be a great starting DE in our 43. My point is there are plenty of guys out there to be had. Realistically we are only going to add 1 or 2 FAs whose name you will recognize anyways. I expect a CBA to get done in time for FA but Im not sure if the Bills will participate.
  14. Im hoping we get Luck, by trading up to get him.
  15. Ok, so trade our 1st for Soliali and the 15th pick and call it a deal. Im cool with that.
  16. http://footballsfuture.com/2011/combine/ot.html This site posts all the combine results in a conveient format. There are only a few of the OL and TE heights and weights up right now but stuff will be added as more things happen. Until the official #s are posted on NFL.com this is pretty accurate. Just thought I would share.
  17. You seemed to disregard him with this statement: "Also, regarding Quinn, it's easier to look strong against the run when you've got the support of NFL talent like Austin, Sturdivant, and Carter playing alongside you in the front 7." The words of a man who has no confidence in himself, or his own opinion. See the Bolded above. O and the Bills will not be getting " a great defender, a game changer, guy that other teams have to account for every time he's on the field" if they take Von Miller.
  18. In one of the other “Qialeys Comments” threads posted today, the one with the WGR link to the transcript, Gailey says this: On how difficult it is to look at a quarterback who has started only one season: Experience always helps. I don’t care if you’re in your position out there, if you’re in my position up here or if you’re a player, experience helps. The more times that you have played in big situations, in front of big crowds and in big games it helps you. I don’t think developing the one-year guy is as big as developing the guy that has not been in a typical pro-style type of offense. I think when you’re trying to change a guy’s thought process into a certain mode that’s a little harder to me than it is to take a guy that’s a one-year guy. A one-year guy that had been in the pro-type offense, to me he’s going to understand and be further along than the guy who was one-year in a non-traditional style pro offense. I think that’s the best way to answer it. He goes on to say: On his thoughts of Auburn QB Cam Newton: I’m anxious to see him to continue to work out. I’m anxious to see what he’s going to do here this week. He obviously had a great year. I watched him several times on TV. I have not studied him to this point yet. I’ve looked at a little bit of tape, but have not studied him. He’s a big athlete that is in that Wildcat mode, but obviously has the ability maybe to go to a drop-back passer mode. WTF!!!!!!!!! You havent studied Newton yet!?!?! What have you been doing since early January??? He is only the biggest prospect out there – playing QB – with huge red flags and questions about “can he play in the NFL” and you need to know full damned well what you are getting. The Combine started today – and you havent even studied him? Holy butt f*** Batman! Go lock him in the room with some game tape and do your F’ing job. You are the HC and OC of an NFL team in desperate need of a QB – and you havent looked at any tape of the top prospect? What a joke this team is.
  19. I just did. As far as rushing the passer goes anyway. I think he could make a very solid 4-3 Will though. But I doubt thats what he is drafted to do, and will thus be a bust.
  20. I'm afraid that is going to mean "leave him on the bench" Regarding what he said about QB - did anyone think we are going to add a late round groom QB prospect? Chan says he likes Fitz, could get us to the playoffs, but he isn’t our franchise guy because he is older. He said they want to go with fitz and add someone to be the franchise QB. Well a late round guy may be that guy. Considering Gaileys history with late round QBs/nobodies I bet that’s the route they go. Dalton or Kapernaek perhaps? Hopefully its not in the 1st two rounds though, I want instant starters.
  21. I am unsure but it does make sense. I think we would have heard about other teams doing it on ESPN if it were allowed thouhg.
  22. Don’t disregard Quinn’s individual play by saying he had other good players on his team. Other players don’t affect how he stands up an OT 1 on 1, and keeps outside leverage. It doesn’t affect how he tracks down a ball carrier with his backside pursuit (Miller doesn’t do that FYI) You absolutely can evaluate a players ability to defend the run in how ha wins or loses his 1 v 1 matchups. You can also see if he knows he responsibilities, and if he plays good team defense regardless of how the rest of his team plays. And I completely disagree with Miller. Most everyone has already admitted he is a liability against the run when he has to hold up at the point of attack. So right there he is only a pass rusher, a 3rd down player. And that’s assuming you think he can rush the passer. . I think it’s so crazy-obvious that he will not generate a pass rush in the NFL (whether your agree or not is the argument I guess). His approach to getting the the QB is flawed for the NFL, and time and time again its been proven not to work. Even just watching the highlights of both players you can see it. Quinn can engage the OT, generate a push, bench him off to disengage, then get to the QB. Miller is screwed if he engages the OT. The OT swallows him up and tosses him around like a wet noodle. If Miller doesn’t get a quick jump off the ball and cant run past the OT clean, he isn’t getting pressure. That’s what Maybin did in college too – and look how good he is now. Aaron Miller and Von Maybin are extremely similar pass rushers, and if we take Aaron Miller to be a 3-4 pass rusher, then we aren’t getting a pass rusher. I’m sorry but there are 7 front 7 defenders that could go at 3 and wouldn’t be too much of a reach according to the experts (Fariley, Dareus, Bowers, Watt, C Jordan, Quinn and Miller). Im sure that every single one of them will be good, but Von Maybin is going to be the one that isn’t, and I just freaking know that’s who we are going to take. Then Quinn will go on to make the PB his rookie year and I will just freaking lose it. The only player these idiots will take over Maybin 2 is Peterson and he also just happens to be the 2nd most over rated player out there. I am so tired of this C rate FO I am going mad. The sooner Ralph moves on and a new Owner moves the team or goes Pegula on the FO the better. Sorry for the rant.
  23. He was suspended for receiving improper benefits from an agent. Do you know what those benefits were? It was a free plane ticket to Miami and lodging so that he could work out and train at a special facility with current NFL players who are also clients of the agent during the offseason. I think he also was given some diamond earrings. Im not passing on a guy who could be the next Demarcus Ware because he went to the wrong gym.
  24. There are two http// in the begining. Delete both back to the www and hit enter But that draft comes out pretty good. We pass on some guys I would prefer but we end up with some good players. Looking at the draft its incredible the talent in the 2nd and third rounds. If we want to gain any ground on our division we need a couple tradebacks
  25. You jus know itll be one of the CBs or Aaron Miller.
