Proof that Brady was jawing Jets sideline
High Mark replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I already new Brady was a total duesch. Im hoping that the Jets/Pitt or Balt can really kick his teeth in in the playoffs. The worst thing is all three of these teams (especially the ravens) have shown they can beat the pusy patsies, but struggle to also beat the refs too. I can see Suggs rounding the corner and crshing Brady 100% legal and it drawing a flag. Same thinkg will happen 3-5 times on his recievers too. Then, the one time its not called, you’ll see him whining to the refs cause he broke a nail. It’s a disgrace that this little whiny d bag is the face of the league. What ever happened to tough guys like Bradsaw or Kelly. Thast football, not this watered down soccer stuff they play these days. -
Von Miller's potential in the NFL
High Mark replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why hasnt anyone brought up his technique issues? Thats what will keep him from getting off blocks in the NFL which is the same problem Maybin has and had in college. He doesnt use his hands to keep defenders off him consistently and doesnt play the run well at all. I really dont think he has much to offer. His only role would prob be a weakside in a 4-3. Some role that will keep defenders off him and let him you use burst and quickness to get to the ball carrier. He could maybe shift to a Tampa 2 MLB I guess, he seems to have the athletic ability to do so. I just don’t see him being a pass rushing threat in the NFL, and taking a guy who we cant figure out how to play is a bad idea. -
Bleacher latest Mock Draft looks ohh so good...
High Mark replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s what I have been saying since last season. Its obvious when watching him he doesn’t read defenses, anticipate, and quite honestly I think his accuracy is pretty darn bad. When you can see those things from a TV broadcast its awful. I just don’t think Mallet has any chance of being a good NFL QB. So where do you draft a QB you don’t think will ever be any good? If I’m the bills its gotta be the 4th-5th before I even think about it and he is gonna be gone at that point so he has almost no value to me. PS: He did declare, right? -
After seeing Peterson get his teeth kicked in by WR #8 from A&M in the Cotton Bowl I say no F’ing way. Further, the Bills have proven that putting a priority on DBs and RBs in the draft results in constant losing seasons. Id like this team to select a great player at an important position and Peterson is not that guy.

Corey Liuget declares for 2011 NFL draft
High Mark replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson, meet CJ Spiller. Also, KW and Troup played the nose in both defensive fronts. Fairley/Dareus/this guy all look like 3 or 5 techs depending on the front – thus not playing the same position. (although I am the first one to admit that KW would be a stud 30 front 5tech) I personally like his teammate, ILB Martez Wilson. Dude is huge at 6’4’ 250#s and can move. Him or even Houston from UGA could be great ILBs in the 2nd if available. -
Steve Johnson on Ferrall yesterday (recap)
High Mark replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His house gets out fitted by Vizio? Why not some lucky fan or something? I know he was a 7th rounder but he still makes 400K+ a year and he gets to do what most people would do for free if they could. Good for SJ he is one of the better guys on our team and all but seems like a strange give-away from Vizio. -
Von Miller's potential in the NFL
High Mark replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Handled? I’d say he completely owned Peterson. That’s assuming the guy you are talking about is the mysterious WR #8 that played in that Cotton Bowl. Either Peterson is an Ashton Youboty level CB or WR #8 is Jerry Rice reincarnated…. -
Bills with second toughest schedule in 2011
High Mark replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every stinking year! Either its planned this way or we are that unlucky. I bet playing the Pats and Jets/Fish (one of them always seem to be in the playoffs but never both) has something to do with it but why the hell cant we play the NFC West? My guess is its planned. But I guess its ok, we are gonna stink next year anyways so if we are gonna lose we might as well be good at it. Maybe a few more drafts and we can actually field a talented team. One can only hope….. :-( -
Von Miller's potential in the NFL
High Mark replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with these Having seen Miller twice this year, I can honestly say I have no idea how the talking heads have this guy as a top prospect. He looks a lot like Maybin not just physically (small, skinny, thin in the hips) but also has atrocious technique. He doesn’t use his hands – at all – he just runs into tackles leading with his shoulder then seems to club with his elbows. Against the run he is even worse, actually turning his back to the ball carrier and losing sight of him completely while getting blown out of the hole and not setting the edge or keeping contain at all. On top of that I don’t think he has the strength to take on blockers even if he had good technique. He also have zero effort on his backside pursuit. He is quick like Maybin but unlike Maybin he does seem to have instincts. I didn’t put him in my multi-player mock draft for a reason. Moats >>> Miller -
Yes he can and no I dont think so.

I like the idea of Quinn in the 1st because of the talent at DT in the later rounds being much much greater than OLB/DE. That said he is risky having not played this year and will likely fall ala Dex Bryant. I also don’t think he is better than any of the “Big 3” Fairley/Bowers/Dareus. In a trade back scenario we could bank on him being available and being the pick.

Tank Carder – Another guy I really liked but forgot about (also only saw one game). He made lots op intelligent plays and I want intelligent players. Put him in the 3rd-4th slot ahead of Moch and Nevis but not before the OLmen and other LBs. Thanks Tennesse. While I would like to add a RT that can come in and start ( our weakest position IMO, Carimi being my favorite) I simply cannot find one with good value in this draft – I am very sour on this years crop of Ts. Carimi in the trade down would be a guy, but not over Dareus or Quinn. In the second, Love, Sherrod, and Cannon may be there with Cannon being my top choice, but not over the LBs or DL I have. I guess it could be wise to take a T instead of another DT though – but then you are caught reaching. With a interior talent like Pouncy being available Id rather take him over a weaker tackle, he could make Woods move to C permanent (Pouncy can’t snap the ball and thus cannot be a C.) Nate Soldier I think is the worst one I have seen honestly. He is really tall which works to his DISadvantage IMO. He doesn’t have the feet to be a tackle in the NFL and doesn’t have the bend to get low either. I really don’t like him and I have to believe he would be off the board before I would be comfortable drafting him.

With the college football season officially over its time for me to put my Mock Draft out there for Buffalo. Its impossible to predict where these guys go but I try to be realistic, basing my projections off of a lot of a multitude of others rankings, and adjusting for my opinions on some players (Like Sherrod being an average 2nd round T and not a top 10 guy like others think). In my mock I list multiple players at each pick bc of this too. Some are stretches (like C. Heyward) but at least one on my list is a lock to be available IMO. We will see how this picture looks after the combine/senior bowls. I have ranked my guys in the order I would take them if they were all available. 1- Fairley, Bowers, Dareus. I would like to trade back to 8-15 if possible and pick up a 2012 pick or two (the goal of this is to make a move for Luck in 2012). If we can do that my list looks like Dareus, Quinn, Carimi, Clayborne. 2- Martez Wilson -Illinois (64 250# ILB who runs a sub 4.5 40. A RS Jr that just declared. Team captain too), Cameron Heyward DL, M. Pouncy OL , JJ Watt DL, M. Cannon OL, Kyle Rudolf TE, M. Austin DL B. Gabbert QB, D. Sherrod OL, D. Love OL, Wisniewski (the penn st C/G). 3&4- This is hard because I have no real idea where in these rounds these guys will go but Im fairly certain we could land 3 of them in this group with our 1x 3 and 2x 4s. - Mark Herlich LB, BC. Would have been a 2009 1st rounder if not for being diagnosed with Cancer. - James Carpenter, G/RT, Alabama. A monster of a road grader. Could have started at G or RT this past season for the Bills - Casey Mathews. He is athletic but small. I expect him to be a late bloomer just like his Bro who walked on at SC and only started 1 year. His lineage should be taken into account too. - John Moffit, G from Wisconsin. Awesome OLman, coulda started at G for us this year. - Luke Stocker, TE from Tenn. 66 250, plays like former Vol Jason Witten. - Dontay Moch - Nev OLB. Very fast and decent strength but Im not sure about this guys football IQ or insticts. Technique is poor too. Great athlete though, doubtfull he is available. - Drake Nevis DL LSU. 5- I normally stop at rd 4 because after that you are reaching for guys who arent available. But after watching Auburns DL last night I am adding big # 93 from Auburn, Mike Blanc, hold up so well vrs 2 lineman I want him too. Astrobot/Drafttec has him as a mid 5th rounder, so if thats accurate, he is available when we pick. Figuring we dont trade our top pick, at Worst case scenario we could get Dareus, Austin, Herlich/Mathews, Moffit/Carpenter, and Blanc. 3 Dl, 1 OL, 1 LB, and 1 non-used 4th on someone else. If you didnt notice I have no RBs, WRs, or DBs. I only have one QB (Gabbert) and he is one of my last options of the 2nd round. This draft is all DL, OL, LBs, and works with a 3-4 or 4-3. If The Bills take these players in each round they will have had the best draft in team history. Let me know what you think. What players would you add/remove to my list and in what rounds?

The reason Fairley went unblocked so often
High Mark replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wanted to add this personal tidbit on Fairley: A woman who is a contractor and does a ton of work for me/my company is based out of Atlanta and has a daughter that goes to Auburn. I was talking to her this morning about the game and she said that Fairley and Newton are definitely declaring, but she also mentioned how nice of people the Fairley family is and that they are “rock solid” and ”good Christians” She then added that “but Nick is crazy” IMO, that’s PERFECT for a D lineman I understand the two offenses are different but they read the same keys which makes them two very similar types of offenses. Same reads, different formations You are also incorrect if you think that all spread offenses read the slant of the DTs. The bone read the DTs more as they utilized a FB. Until last night I would have told you that 100% of spread teams read the end. What Oregon did last night I have never noticed before and is very unique and it cost them the game. -
Sam has gotten a lot of love and honestly Im not too sure why. Im a huge Horns fan and love adding Texas guys but Sam just doesn’t have the athletic ability to play OLB. He is gonna have to keep his hand down because of that. 2nd round? I think he is more of a late 4-7 type guy.
-
Ok, so because Whitner stinks and so do other players drafted in front of him and because there are many great players the Bills passed on I shouldn’t feel as bad about it. OK?
-
I read in a few of the threads that people were unimpressed/confused as to why Fairley went unblocked so often. The reason was the Ducks were optioning him. They announced that early in the game and said that Oregon had been optioning the 3 tech the entire year, which made me and my dad (who played QB in the wishbone in HS and college) go WTF? in unison. Normally a team would option the end man on the LOS like the DE, sometimes they can option the OLB, but I have never heard of a team optioning an interior lineman. When I say option, that means the offense will purposely leave 1 man unblocked, and attack that man with 2 potential ball carriers. It’s the QBs job to read that unblocked player with the idea that that player can only defended/tackle/commit to one player leaving the other open for the big run. Regardless though, IF Oregon has ran that all year and been so successful, Fairley was the MVP of that game by being able to shut them down single handedly. He was able to track down LaMichael James and the QB in space. He also blew up the entire Ol when they did try to block him. Guy is a superstar. Just wanted to clarify.

This comes down to two ideologies. 1- Draft OL and make it a priority. That way, any old scrub can run behind that OL. 2- Draft RB and make it a priority. That was, any old scrub can try and block for that back. Only one ideology produces in this day and age. Also, (and Im not certain there is any correlation between this or not – but I think I may be onto something) the teams that have good offensive lines tend to have better pass protection, which helps their passing game too! Now obviously you could find good RBs/OLman in any round, but guess what, no position in the NFL is routinely filled with quality, productive, UNDRAFTED players like the RB position. Its not even close. NO position wears down like a RB does either. The lifespan of a RB is 4-5 years. The days of a RB carring it 350+ times a season are long gone. OLmen can play for 12-15. Schopp’s logic isn’t flawed, its vastly superior to those in charge at OBD. He is saying any street FA can come in and jog through a truck lane sized hole and rack up the yards, which is essentially what happened last night. Figure it out Ralph, its not rocket appliances.

Interesting thought regarding Harbaugh/Luck
High Mark replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 49ers will likely sue my draft strategy of trading back to obtain more picks in 2012 and parlaying them to trade for Luck. There is also the possibility Lukc doesnt go #1. -
Yes it is misleading. How often does the guy who actually causes the pressure come away with the sack? Like I already wrote 1 of those sacks was after a pancake block that Rodgers ran into. Remember that year Peters gave up what seemed like 15 sacks but only had 2 or 3 counted agaisnt him? That was misleading too. Stats are, by their nature, misleading. Bulaga has played pretty well when I have watched and I still wish we took him.

Colin Kaepernick looks real good to me

If anyone is watching notice that Herzlich is playing like a nickle DB. Thats an athletic LB. Thats how USC used Cushing a lot.
-
Sacks given up is prob the most misleading of all stats. And he ahs been a good run blocker. There is a reason the Pack ran to their right side 80% of the time today.
-
his man recovered the fumble didnt cause it. I dont know why that would be his fault? No, not legit. Bulaga has been very solid this year. He has struggled some but he is good. People see that C Wake had 3 sakes and think they were all on Bulaga so he must suck right? But in reality 1 was on the FB, one was on Bulaga, and the other was after Bulaga put Wake on his back and Rogers ran by and got tripped up while Wake and Bulaga where in teh misionary position. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers. “He’s a guy who’s a natural left tackle, who’s going to be our left tackle for years to come. But because of injuries to Mark, we had to move him over there and he’s done a really nice job adjusting,” Rodgers said. “I don’t worry about Bryan, and our coaching staff doesn’t, either – which says a lot about the progress he’s made. After becoming the starter in the season’s fifth game in place of an injured Tauscher on Oct. 10 at Washington, Bulaga had been nothing short of solid. And while he wasn’t perfect against the Patriots and Giants, he certainly held his own, particularly against Giants Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck. But he struggled against Chicago’s Julius Peppers, and admitted as much before tiring of questions about the penalties he committed. “I thought I played all right besides that whole (penalty) fiasco. It was just not acceptable,” Bulaga said. “But besides that, I thought I played well. I thought I did some good things out there. I'm just moving on and getting ready for this one.” http://www.channel3000.com/sports/26405577/detail.html
