  1. A. Freeman sucks. The Vikings are better without him on the roster. B. The Vikings are good NOW. Chances are some rookie will not get them to the SB in 2 years (their D will have aged and fallen apart by then).
  2. Hopefully that new line wont be singing...
  3. Just because we or Kiper never heard of him doesnt mean he is not any good. I had never heard of Whitner and we took him 8th overall. This kids made a lot more plays in college than whitner did. Remember this Ohio team nearly beat Ohio St untill they messed up a punt or had a FG blocked or something late in the game, so there should be some video of this kid vrs the best. Numbers wise at 6'1'' 220 and a 4.4 40 he looks real legit. From watching that video he looks great, but you have to wonder why he wasnt invited to the combine. May not be as bad a pickas everyone thought.
  4. Right on target man. Over the years, the Bills never seem to take that one guy I was praying would fall to the Bills. History as shown that the Bills are not so good at picking the best option. Here's to Maybin, you better be one hell of a SOB because I know Orakpo is going to be.
  5. I would like to see Jean-Francou (sp?), DT form LSU signed. He reminds me of McCargo. That might be a bad thing to some, but if McCargo was an UDFA he would be a solid player not a first round bust. Beside, McCargo is probably on the way out as it is. I would also take Jaws word for it and get that QB whos d*ck he couldn't get off of. Other than that no real suggestions. I would just say sign as many of these guys as you can. Its a numbers game, the more we brign in the higher chance we have of finding someone worth a damn.
  6. The '08 non-Peters O line was better than the '08 Peters O line. I have always been a big fan of Chambers at tackle (not so much at guard). I wish I could go back and watch the tapes of the last two games of 08 to check out his play at LT. I really dont think Walker is the answer at LT. I also think thats why we didnt target a tackle in the draft, there were no LTs left at 28. Walker is a RT, Butler could play RT, so could CHambers, why add another player who can only be a RT? I am just concerned about depth along the line. I also am very exited about Bell. This is the first time I have felt good about our O line in a LONG time. If anyone has those two games Tivoed and wants to go back and evaluate this entire board would appreciate it I think.
  7. Its not all about who they drafted, its who they didnt, ie Orakpo and Brown.
  8. Its going to be hard to be the best tackle ever when he is stuck play RT his whole career. He wont even be the best T on his own team.
  9. A friend just called me and said he read somewhere that Byrd is Fewell's nephew. I couldnt find the article but if it is true then I just turned sour on that pick. I hate nepitism, and if that is the reason we passed on Brown and the chance to have one fearsome pass rush I may just explode. I am mad enough that we draft 3 CBs every year, but that would just be too much. I hope it is not true and Byrd really is that good, but who knows. Can anyone confirm this? EDIT: I just found this link. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/651786.html Says Byrd's father and Fewell coached together in St. Louis. In that case this may be a better pick than I thought, with Fewell having some inside knowledge into this kids ability. Who knows, he is going to be one heck of a safety to make up for the pass rush Brown could have generated.
  10. Because I care about every pick.
  11. No way Lankster is a baller.
  12. We will be able to defend that new 13 WR set that the Pats will be running this year.....
  13. Oak just took steps toward being #1. #1 overall pick next year that is
  14. We need a T. We have three on the roster, I think we need one more going into the season in case of injury if nothing else. Can Butler move outside? RT may be for him, But Chambers did well in Peters absence last year. Who knows, we need more boddies however.
  15. The Bills have had very good luck with OL and DL in late rounds in the recent history, stick too it IMO. Where does he fit into the roster though? We have 5 very good CBs already. Maybe playing safety? We already added one of them, so Im not too sure what the plan is, may be this years K.Kox
  16. Thats fine, my posts leading up to the draft show how much I like him as our OLB. Physically speaking, he is a lot like Cushing, who many wanted at 11. Here are the combine numbers I could find. Height Weight Arm Length 40 Yard Reps Hand Length Brian Cushing USC 6'2 7/8 243 32 1/2" 4.74 30 10" Nic Harris Oklahoma 6'2 3/8 234 32 1/2" 4.78 15 10 1/8" Almost Identical combines, aside from the bench reps. He position at OK was the "roy" a hybrid ss/lb position. Had a great Sr Bowl where he played only as a LB. Let him adjust to a new position and the NFL level and I think he is a solid starter by week 8. It shouldnt be hard for him to beat out Ellison. To adress his dirty/stupid penalties. IMO they were not the type of dirty penalty you would associate with Rodney Harrison, more like the penalty where Whitner ran down that Raider in the endzone. He always plays hard and through the whistle - hitting guys a bit late or out of bounds. I am a little scared of that but its better to play hard and agressive than shy and scared. He will bring a much needed nasty attitude to our soft defense.
  17. No, the picks/TDs is his career I would assume. I know for a fact he only had one pick last season and it was in the NC.
  18. Harris is a STUD. Runs like a DB, hits like a LB. Best cover LB in the draft, a great open field tackler as well. Expect to see him starting over Ellison very early into the season. I have been talking him up for months now, and I just cant believe the Bills actually got him. In time this will be the best pick of the Bills draft.
  19. NO WAY. I have been preaching about Harris for months, and the Bills actually took him. He is already better than Ellison, trust me. I cant believe he lasted as long as he did honestly. Taking round into consideration he will be the best pick in this draft for the Bills. LOVE IT.
  20. I am still a little scared of Maybin. We cant afford to have messed up that pick, and I am a big Horns fan and liked Orakpo more. Yes I am biased but I have also seen a lot of his games. I like the safety pick a little more but still cant believe we passed on Brown, or trading for Carolinas first next year. The other picks on the OL and TE have been great. All in all if Maybin can be as good as they say we will have a great young group on the lines.
  21. I agree that he as some question marks. Those are about his desire, not ability though. I see it as a similiar situation to Andre Smith. I big punishing OL with some things that make you think Mike Williams. Without those ??? he is a first/second round pick. I would take that risk in the 4th/5th, especially when we wont be asking him to start right away.
  22. As the draft progresses, I hope we trade back into the 4th, say with our 5th and a 7, to take Duke Robinson. 1st/2nd best guard. I know we have enough guards but I think we can not have enough guards. Its only giving up a 7th, a guy like Kox who will get cut in camp. Dont take a chance and get the best interior OL in the NFL.
  23. And he was to top player left on the board (Kiper's at least). Cant complain with 6'5'' and 4 year starter who runs a 4.56 and 21 reps on the bench. Good pick up A few good draft sites have him as the 2nd or 3rd best TE. I like it
