Anyone know if he has offset language in his contract? -

Oh I want them to get this done so bad! No way he clears waivers...bring him in on the practice squad as the 4th qb -
I honestly didn't even celebrate the way I normally would (jumping up and down and in 360s) while watching that run, at least not in the moment...just fist pump when he got the first, stood up when I realized he had a chance to score, big fist pump, a huge sigh of relief and then grabbed my 7 year old while he was flipping out and gave him a big hug. I think mostly I was waiting to make sure he wasn't hurt before celebrating, but what a freaking play!

Lol, that's where we disagree...0-4 doesn't necessarily mean we need major change at all...it depends on how they lost and all that...also, what was Tampa Bay's record after 12 games the year the won their last super bowl? What I'm really saying is that I saw somewhere the bills were -5000 to win the afc east...I feel like there is a better chance than that that the bills lose their next four and the dolphins win their next five and they are tied in the loss column than the odds of -5000...there might be some value to hedge there potentially...I don't gamble on sports though, just pointing out a potential value bet to toss a few bucks on something that is unlikely, but feels more likely than the odds
-
Not at all what I'm saying... what I'm saying is there is a possibility that they lose all of these next four games and the result is not that they are not a competative team that can't go far in the playoffs or that they should blow it all up.

So I'm just inherently more of a process over outcome type person (independent of McD coming in with his process talk). To me right decision isn't based on if it works out, it's if it was the right decision in the first place with all the available information without hindsight. We're probably never going to fully agree, but at the same time I don't think we need to, it's just how we enjoy watching sports differently.

It's realistically possible the bills go 0-4 over the next five weeks and the dolphins can beat all those teams and they'd be tied in the loss column with a half game head to head. Not saying I think it's going to happen, but it's very much in the realm of possible...it also wouldn't necessarily be a massive meltdown for the Bills to lose against the chiefs, 49ers, rams, lions if they are all close games and both teams play well and the ball just bounces funny four times.

This was suppose to be a rebuild year

I think the point is more it might be a mirage and they have some tough teams on the schedule coming up, and let's wait to see how they finish the regular season before we start puffing our chests. The bills could realistically go on a 4 game losing streak or lose 3 of the next 4. -
Yeah, I interpret it as they're cool with letting the offense try and get a 4 or 5 yard run and get a first down at or near the sticks, because eventually one of those runs is going to be stopped and they'll be behind the chains. Then good luck being able diagnose the coverage presnap and getting the ball out on time and to the right receiver in a clear passing situation when they need to get the ball into the second level with the defense set up to prevent a catch short of the sticks getting the yac needed for a first and taking away the deep ball. I think it's they don't care much about giving up first downs on 2nd and 5 for example, because they would rather have a chance to get you into 2nd and 12 and then best of luck

I think people might get a small pass for teams with bad offensive lines that ended up worst case scenario (though also could have been a highly likely scenario at the same time)

Saints fired Dennis Allen …. who’s next?

Have you seen the players starting on defense so far this season? -
If they had gone down 10, like last game they would have been in huge trouble, just like last game
-
The dolphins offense is good, especially when they can stay on script? I mean can't it just be as simple as that?

Anyone else feel like it sounds like he's going through more than just the adversity that comes from missing kicks? A lot of tears and just the depth of the way mcd talked about overcoming that adversity and his teammates being there for him...I dunno if you get that level of depth to these emotions if it's just a slump on the field and there isn't maybe something else going on that is making it really hard to focus at the insane level required

Even Niners fans are getting priced out!

Curious if it's similar to LiveNation and Ticketmaster. Like livenation owns all the various venues...wondering if teams outsource operations to a company that basically runs all the operations at a bunch of stadiums and they are able to set the prices -

The td right before the Hail Murray was mine -
So with the Josh Allen draft, I literally hadn't watched any highlights or film on the quarterbacks other than barely watching any college football at all. The first I had seen highlights of Josh Allen was watching highlights after he got drafted. My very initial thought was hearing a bunch of people being mad because he couldn't throw with anticipation and especially that he couldn't throw with touch and I was like crap, bad pick...then about 15 minutes later I was watching his throws from the senior bowl and watched him throw with touch, literally the very thing people claimed he was incapable of doing...I was sold immediately after seeing that and realizing he had learned that in a week of top level coaching. Are there things that are keeping Coleman back that people are saying he can't do, but you're actually starting to see he actually has the capacity to do that, it's just really rough? There's a huge difference between incapable of doing something and being capable just being bad at it... especially when you could explain the reason for the being bad being limited reps or bad coaching or whatever. The top end speed is probably more important for Josh Allen than other qbs also right? Like he doesn't typically throw deep balls until he sees they're open because of his arm strength or am I crazy? Feels like Tua often does a three step drop and chucks it deep, but Allen usually is looking deep and then throwing deep. Has that changed some this year, with more Y/N reads and chucking it up to Coleman as soon as he sees he'll have a favorable look? I hadn't heard the term yes no read until this year I don't think, which makes me think that means the bills haven't really been doing them until this year? I know there were a lot of half field reads, but he was still having to chose a route on that half the field...is it because there are fewer option routes so he can make a choice quicker before having to wait for a receiver to hit a decision landmark?
-
Are you talking about something like keeping space between the numbers and out of bounds on a go route so he can run to space horizontally a bit away from the defender?

@BADOLBILZ @GunnerBill Loving the insights! Badol, you mentioned that Davis clapping at the ball was because of eye hand coordination limitations (makes sense). Gunner, you mentioned you're worried that Coleman isn't a good separator. Question for both of you...is separation a similar skill to having the eye hand coordination that allows for quick, late hands? Obviously clapping at the ball could theoretically be a technique thing as well, but if it is a physical limitation you're obviously capped even with the best technique, as mentioned by one or both of you. Does separation have a limiting physical factor, and is that a concern for Coleman in your eyes? He seems to have quick feet and for sure really solid body control to be able to take small steps with suddenness...is it a hip or ankle fluidity thing or something like that maybe? Why isn't Coleman a good separator and will improving his technique allow him to get better, or is there a limiting physical trait that could potentially prevent him from ever passing a ceiling that will keep him becoming a true #1 receiver?
-
Very very interesting observation. Would you say perhaps he's more fluid on the right side than on the left side? Like could it be more of a foot thing than a hands thing? I'm thinking in basketball you use your left foot to jump for a right handed layup...I've got pretty good hands catching, but I've noticed my right hand is better at catching one handed than my left...always thought it was because catching with a glove you have that on your right hand as a lefty and you practice more that way. I'm also a weird case potentially (in terms of catching), because write, play soccer, do layups in basketball, dribble a basketball, and play tennis all lefty, but I shoot a basketball, golf, play lacrosse, and swing a baseball bat all right...my brother is the exact opposite. Only reason I'm mentioning myself is I'm trying to think through the movements to go up for a catch...I don't see the fact I'm better at catching with my right hand being a reason I would jump differently, but I could see it being a footwork thing potentially and being more comfortable going off one foot than another. Really cool observation though, and I guess I'd love for you to look at his footwork and see if maybe that is what is causing what you're seeing potentially

That's lacking an empathic response...he annoyed your pro sports team and you are feeling the need to restrict empathy...on the same spectrum, that if something like that happened to your absolute favorite player you would feel excruciating empathy...that is where the karma lives. don't give karma a reason to think it's a good opportunity for you to learn a lesson -
the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
HardyBoy replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
See and that's why I tend to go with fewer, but really long posts when I talk about stuff...I will take this post as validation to continue doing that! Seriously though, I think this whole short form trend is what is causing some of what you're saying...not just because people feel like they need to say something, anything and the barrier for providing input is so low with it being like 140 characters...but really, there are a lot of times you realize what you're saying in those 140 characters makes no sense as you drill down in a longer form post, and you can basically tear down your initial premise that way and come up with an idea that actually makes sense in the end. Of course, if it's too long and nobody reads it, that also reminds me of that tree in the woods that nobody hears fall...or if that doesn't make sense, does a one handed clap make a sound? -
Doesn't that negate Baltimore's head to head tiebreaker if the bills beat the chiefs and all three are tied, at least to determine the winner of the three way tie breaker?
