  1. Sounds like Florence is more of an insurance policy. He is a solid corner. He will help with McKelvins developement process. Also with out sinking a lot of money into Greer it means the door is open on Mcghee being resigned.
  2. He sounds like a guy you wait and see about. I mean you go thru FA your draft and who you get signed. Even minicamps. Then you can offer him a 1 year deal for league minimum for his years. He looks like he would be a third down DE only. He is what he is.
  3. June is three years younger and plays outside. Peterson is an inside lb. So unless you are gonna move Poz or play Peterson out of position, it sounds like June is a better fit. Had good season with Indy, but never panned out in Tampa. Maybe could be had for a deal similar to Florences'.
  4. Sounds like Cato June is a better fit for what Bills need. He plays outside LB is 3 years younger then Peterson. Peterson is more of a MLB. He had good seasons at INDY but was average in Tampa. I think he could be an upgrade over Ellison. Let Ellison go back to being a back up. I would not mind a two- three year deal. Maybe around 3 mil a season with some bonuses. Like the deal with Florence.
  5. Peterson is comming to Atlanta, tomorrow or thursday. Would be surprised if he make it out of here. Mike Smith was his coach down in Jax. And the Falcons need a LB worse then Bills after loosing Brooking and Boley.
  6. Good for him. I hope he can continue to act responsibly. Its funny how if you stay out of trouble off the field you can produce better on the field. I am glad to see maybe he realizes this and won't be another talented person who pisses away his talents.
  7. Nah i dont think so. I think they might move Whitner if the could get Phillips. But so far he is reportedly only going to San Diego and i think Seattle for a visit. If Modrak said that stuff i hope and pray it is smoke and mirrors to throw off people around us. The Bills have good corners in McGhee and Mckelvin. They have Ashton Y, and Corner. I cant see them picking up anothe rone in the first. If they do then i wont be upset if we go 7-9 again. I will have seen it comming
  8. I dont really care if we get Coles which means we probably will get him. Just seems to work out that way. He is not a bad player. Coles is not worth 6 mil a year, when we got so many other areas of need. It almost seems like the Bills might get stuck with him. No one seems to be breaking down his door. If i was his agent i would take the Bills offer. But i hope he doesn't. Save that money for mor epressing need areas.
  9. Being reported he left Cincy w/o a contract. So that is not necessarily good news for people like me who dont really want him here. I dont mind Coles at all, but think we have many more important areas to fill. OL DT LB, and of course DE. I wouldn't mind Jermaine Phillips at Saftey. If it is a money issue, which it usually is. I would rather see it spent more wisely in areas of need. Lets see if Steve Johnson or Hardy have what it takes. And focus on the areas where we dont have someone to develope like DT, DE, OL, and safety.
  10. Oh yeah and Groves has only played 12 games once in his entire. He is often injured. Never played a whole year.
  11. Ok. So what makes you think Jake Groves is better then Hangartner? Because he was a starter on a crappy team. And Hangartner was a back up? Who btw played in 8 games last year for one of the best running teams in the league. Carolina went to the playoffs Hangartner was a the product of haveing to many high paid guys at one position. Oakland let Jake Groves go. If you think Parcells is such a genius i am sorry you are just wrong. Has Dallas done anything? Miami had a nice season last year, but come on man. By your rational because a guy gets paid more money he must be better? I hope you are not in HR for your company. Pay on performance. And right now there is nothing to suggest Groves is better then Hangartner.
  12. Cutler is as overrated player a player as there is in the game right now. He played for the best offensive mind in the game. Had a great wide reciever, and a good O line. He wasn't able to lead his team to a win over the Bills at home, with the playoffs on the line. I know Denvers d sucks, but come on. If Cutler was the Bills qb you guys would be crucifying him. He is just not that great. Tell me why you think he is 'hands down' better the Edwards. Sorry i think McDaniels knows he aint that good and he is an immature kid. He doesn't want to deal with his crap since McDaniels is not very mature either.
  13. The only thing good about Leonard is he is very smart. He knows not only his own responsebility, but everyones else's around him. But he has very average skills. He will look like he did playing for Buffalo with the J-E-T-S. But good for him on cashing in. If Ray leaves Baltimore and Scott is already gone. Last year Suggs left. Rolle wants out. The master mind behind the D is gone in Ryan. Maybe this team doesn't look so good this year. Their offense was average. Which is all they needed to be. But i have a feeling we are seeing their stronghold on a great D ending.
  14. If the Bills believe Simmons is healthy and can be gotten at the right price they will sign him. Then you have Peters, Simmons, Hangartner, Butler, and Walker. Preston is a back up signed for league min. Draft a center/gaurd in round 3/4. I think that line sounds solid, if everyone plays to potential and stays mostly injury free. Let them play together for two years and develope some chemistry. Simmons and Hangartner sound like solid players. Butler made some strides and is good when healthy, Our Tackles are good tackles. Peters should get his payday and Walker is a good r/t.
  15. The offensive line is a hard unit to criticize. I mean its hard to say one player is better then the other because they all have such different responsebilities. You have to look at the line as a whole instead of one player here or there. The Bills had problems with the line play and the thought Dockery was not producing at the level he should have been. They also must of thought that about Fowler and Preston too. They have not been signed either. You nor do i know what line calls were made on what plays. Who was suppose to help on a defender. I for one am not mad at the Dockery cut. What i would like to see though is the Bills put some good talent on the line and let it play together for a few years. That is the one place where 'Continuity" matters.
  16. Not sure i buy the hype on Cutler. He played under probably the greatest offensive minds in the league. And he had a knack for under achieving as the season went on. I think it is too early to tell. Arguements can be made for and against both. The big thing is that if you wanted Cutler you would have to give up a lot to get him, and are you positive he is that much better then Trent? And if so why? What has he done to make you believe he is that much better? He did not destroy the Bills defense this year. And we all know we had an average at best D.
  17. Right on San Jose. Line play is so hard to criticize. We have no idea who has the "help" resposibility on certain plays. Who is suppose to 'chip' on a defender so it slows him up enough for another OL to square off the defender. By no mean am i saying Prseton is the next Jim Richter or Joe D, but he could have some potential. And the league min. might be worth another year for him. But the lettiny Dockery walk does show the bills thought he was not producing. And maybe a few of those sacks by Peters were not completely his fault. I would like to see the bills get a good group of guys and let them play together for a few years. It takes time to develope a good understanding of what the others around you strengths/weaknes' are.
  18. Glad the Cowboys want some more old guys. The Cowboys and Washington seem to always go for old Vets while The Giants draft or pick up young guiys for the right price. And they wonder while the Giants have two Superbowl wins in this decade.
  19. I am with ya buddy. To ealry to tell. And as far as Whittle, Preston, Fowler and Dockery go, must people on this board thought they stunk. Those guys are back ups except Dockery who is average. I am not concerned yet. Every year the Bills have signed one or two big names in the off season. And for all you pessimists where has that gotten the team? Mediocre? Right. So now you are upset they havent signed anyone yet. Time will tell everything. You want to be like Washington? They are the champs of FA. And what has it gotten them? Nothing. A few more playoff games then Buffalo in the last 10 years but nothing really solid. And you say spend the money? Why so you can look like Dan Snyder? A guy who throws money at problems instead of knowledge? Please. Thats whats wrong with our country as a whole. People think money can solve everything. His team stinks and will this year again.
  20. Yeah Brooking did become a FA. Rumor has it ATL offered him like 2.5mil. He refused. HIs stats are not bad. But he is known as "the six yard sheriff" in Atlanta. His tackles all come about 6 yards down the field and afdter the first down is made. He hardly ever makes a big play and definetly not when you need it. The Wild Card games against Arizona was proof of that.
  21. LaBatt Blue. I dont know what exactly happened with Boley and the Falcons this year. But having watched him in 06 and 07 he can play. Watch him become a very very good LB in NY. He is what we hoped Keith Ellison would have been. And he made twice as many taclkes this year as Coy Wire. So maybe Coy was in there the first play of the game but Boley was a heck of a lot more productive.
  22. I definetly think the Bills need to bring in some talent in FA. But so far they havent been able to sign any of the big time guys. Bills aren't going to give a DT 100mil contract. Wash overpaid for him. 31 other teams thought so too. The Winslow to Tampa trade makes sense for Cleveland, send the player to the other confrence. LB Bart Scott is a good LB but not great and he got a great pay day. The gaurd Brown to ST Louis is another over payed player. Bills just got ride of an over payed gaurd in Dockery. I think the tone from Buffalo is we are going to wait and let some teams over pay. Then next week we are going to make some solid signings for the right price. Everyday one of those players sits there unsigned his value goes down a little bit. Look at what just happened in baseball this offseason. The first week was filled with overpaying for talent. Mostly by the Yankees(baseballs version of the Redskins). Then when the dust settled teams were able to get good solid players at a discount rate. Some teams are also looking at the sign of the times in our country. And saying what if attendence drops 20% next year because the economy is not good. And we all know that is a huge concern in Buffalo. The Bills will sign a couple of solid guys. But the FO believes they have a good young nucleus in place. And want to let them develope. They told us this when the said continuity was the reason they brought Jauron back. I dont have rose colored glass' but i am going to wait till FA is done and the draft. Ultimately we have to wait till this time next year to pass total judgement on the moves made this offseason.
  23. But they need a bizzilion dollar back up qb? Just messing with you. I hope they get stuck with cassell and brady. what a fine mess that would be. But Pioli will probably have to trade for Cassell or Belecheat goes public with the pics of Pioli and Kraft.
  24. Atlanta radio station is saying the Giants are offering him 20mil for 4 years. He will probably sign with them.
  25. Its the Hair. Look at Trump. He and Kiper got the dew.
