  1. Echo the sentiments. Thank You. Bills medical staff said he looked good in the work out. I think they are probably waiting to see how the draft plays out. If he hasn't signed by now, he probably won't before then with anyone. So they can pick him up if they need him after that.
  2. I hear ya man. I was actually on my bachelor party in Vegas. We had an all night epic BlackJack game going. WE had lost track of time. I looked up just at the right time to see that not only the draft was on but the Bills were picking. We had sat down at 1130 the night before to "play just a couple" hands. I am by no means a big gambler, but me and my two friends and cousin had maybe one of the funniest nights of my life. Then when they drafted Whitner i was like huh? I quickly proceeded defend the pick to the t.v when Mel and his hair tore it apart. That was my clue it was time to go get a nap.
  3. That is exactly my point. Turn the negative Peters situation into three starters next year. God knows we need an upgrade of talent in more then one position. I would love to have a LT with Peters talent but w/o his attitude. Saying that i am not 100% sold on Andre Smith. Yes i think he has the talent, but am a little concerned about his thought process. For me i like the kid Oher. Then Robinson in the second. You would have a very young talented Oline for years. With Bell possibly developing into your RT of the future. You already have Butler who when healthy is good. And i think Hangartner will be very solid and a big upgrade over what we watched last year. The Peters trade gives the flexibility to pick up the pass catching TE Scheffler with your extra third. Might have to throw in a fith this year. But i would be ok with that. And it would leave you your second first round pick and your third round pick to upgrade the D. This too me would be a perfect scenario. I just wonder what Peters has to say before people will understand he doesn't like it in Buffalo. Maybe when he pulls a 'Willis' and shoots his mouth off about Toronto.
  4. I watched him play at Vandy. And was always like why is this kid at this school. Nothing against Vandy accademically, it is be far the best school in the confrnce. But Vandy is by no means where great football players usually come from. That is starting to change under the new coach. But this story makes a lot more sense, as to why he ended up there. Him in Chicago is gonna be fun. I predict you have more drama their then we see in Buffalo with Owens. Uhrlacher gave him a less then warm welcome. Orton had already won over the guys on the team. Now Cutler and his whinny ways are going to have a struggle fitting in. But who knows maybe Uhrlacher sits him down at some point and tells him men play this game not little girls. Shut up and play football and everyone will like you. Cutler doesn't remind me of a Jim McMahon type of guy. And that is the last qb the Bears had that the fans there loved. The minute he starts getting booed i will wait to see his reaction.
  5. You probably arent going to get more then that. Just saying. And the extra third would help, maybe you could send it and a later pick to Denver for the TE Scheffler. Whe i say suits me just fine is because i like it a lot better then the alternative. Peters sitting out another whole offseason. Showing up at some point out of shape and a waste. Sounds more and more like he doesn't want to be in Buffalo. Get the most you can get for him. And i say get it done sooner rather then later. That way you can start to plan your draft better. Also maybe pull of the above mentioned trade. What you want and what you can have are two different things. And that is your opinion about it being the second most important position on the field. Cards made it to the Super Bowl this year with Gandy. Yeah he did get worked in the SB but i think all of us here would settle for a playoff apperance sometime this decade.
  6. Its only a massive hole if they dont address it in the draft properly. Plus i also am drinking the Kool Aide about Bell. I think he migh tbe the mystery piece. The Bills will definetly draft an offesive lineman in the first round or two.
  7. I am not saying he is the second comming of Christ. But Tim did break the T.O signing on here i think about a half hour before anyone else. So the guy does have some cred. We aren't getting both Phillys firsts, unless they dont want them because of monetary reasons. Which i cant believe that is the case. Phillys first pick in round one and then there third would suit me just fine. You would then have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds. Could get 3 starters. With two of them being immediate impact type players. And two more that could be quality depth developing into starters for next year.
  8. They have had the opportunity to get a deal done for over a year. Peters made it pretty clear last year he wanted a new deal. The two sides cant agree, sorry but at some point you have to start a bidding war for him like Denver did for Cutler. That will be the best way to get the most for him. Come right out like Pat Bowlen did for Denver and say you are seeking a trade for him. Let Peters go somewhere else and be happy. And Bills can get some young talent. Philly thinks they are a piece or two away from a Super Bowl. McNabb isn't getting any younger nor is Westbrook. Peters could step right in and help solidfy them as an early favorite in the NFC. They would give a 1 and 3 for him.
  9. I don't see anything new from reading this text than from what we all ready knew or were speculating about, or is there? It seems to me that this is just added speculation. Not to say that it won't happen, but nothing new here No you are right its what we have all been speculating. However Tim Graham talks to diferent people inside of different teams. He would have a much more valued opinion then the rest of us about what i sgoing on. Not saying he knows everything. But odds are he has real sources inside different originations
  10. Tim Graham is reporting that the Bills will probably get a 1 and a 3 for him. Would be great. We shall see
  11. Peppers has never had 15+ sacks in a year. In 07 he had 2.5 sacks. 2006 he had 13 and in 2005 he had 10.5. Personally i think Peppers is way overrated. And this isn't a case of him comming from a crappy team that will all of a sudden have a break out year surrounded by great talent. Carolina has a very good defense. As far as Taylor goes. Good to make the call like the article says. But if he wants more then 3 million a year then no thanks.
  12. ahh addition by subtraction. You got to love it.
  13. The Pace signing with Chicago was the best thing that could have happened for Buffalo. Pace stated he did recieve an offer from Philly. Philly seems like they would be the most obivious choice. Bills get best LT on board at 11. Use the extra third in a trade with Denver for Schefler. Go defensive front seven with second first rounder and second round pick. Then get another interior lineman in the third. Ah one can dream.
  14. He has the same build as Tuck. Looks great and is a workout warroir. Honestly dont believe he will be there, but crazier things have happened. Either way Bills could be sitting in cat birds seat on draft day. Either to get a guy they should not of had a chance at. Teams in front of the Bills take all three the 'good' qbs. If some of the qbs are still on the board, Bills could make a trade and get some more picks.
  15. The one other way the Pace deal could help the Bills somewhat, is now there are no other big name LT left. This could help slightly. Pace aknowledged that Philly had made him an offer. A trade for Peters could be more likely now. Philly can either wait for the draft or make a trade for Peters. They are out of any other FA options at this point i believe. I am sure there are some C list quality guys still around. But if Philly wants a LT with a resume and doesn't mind paying for him, Peters is there guy.
  16. I was actually talking about this time. Trading for Cutler. And sorry, you could also argue that he had a great coach in Denver played behind a great line and had good wrs and a good TE to throw too. Factoring those variables in,then yeah i would say there are some questions about the guy. Also the way he has handled himself since Shannahan left is questionable at best to me. He has an uphill battle in Chicago too. Uhrlacher gave him a luke warm welcoming. In his statement about Cutler he mentions the fact that he thought Orton was a good qb. so roll your eyes all you want my friend. But Cutler hasn't proven squat yet to me. Except yes he has some talent but he also has a big ego and needs to learn when to shut up.
  17. With news comming out that Pace got a 3 year 15 million dollar deal in Chicago, how does that affect Peters contract negotiations? Obviously Pace is on the downside of his career. But will this help/hurt in talks with Peters? What you guys think?
  18. Isnt that a TE the Bills already have in Fine? The Bills shouldn't have two guys like that on the roster.
  19. From your mouth to Gods ears.
  20. Atl definetly has a need at linebacker. After loosing Brooking and Boley and haveing replaced them with Mike Peterson. And i guess Coy Wire. But i think you will see them go after a Dlineman in the first. Then maybe Lb in the second. I have heard they are seriously going D in the first three rounds. Where they also have to replace Malloy.
  21. Wouldn't Mathews also be perfect for OLB in the 4-3? Good in coverage, can rush the passer, and can play all three downs. This totally a question, not being a smart ass. But from the way you describe him, and what little i have seen, he would be a great WLB in our scheme.
  22. Bills were at his pro day last week. Might be on the same page as you. This is the kind of guy you draft in the fith round.
  23. Exactly. Even the guys who want him would be saying it was a high price to pay. Three potential starters for one guy is a lot. I will really laugh if Cassel goes to K.C and has a better year then Cutler does in Chicago. Stop and think about that. What K.C gave up for their starter and what the Bears gave up. A move like this can set a team back years if it doesn't work out. Hell we should know. Rob Johnson ring a bell. Not saying Cutler hasn't shown more then Johnson, but there are some big questions about the guy. He is not like getting Peyton Manning from three years ago.
  24. Cutler is good but there are still many unknowns about the guy. Look up his stats. They are not great. Then mix in the fact that he couldn't lead his team to win one game last year at the end of the season. I am not so sure Russ and the boys missed the boat on this one. Instead they waived Au Voir as it sailed away.
  25. You are probably right. I am a young whiper snapper. Only 33. The 85 Bears were the first team besides the Bills i ever remember following. I got to go to the Super Bowl that year. Was a great day. And i will forever remeber Bourbon Street the nights before the game. My dad had to put his hand over my eyes a lot. But darn it still was fun for a 10 y/o kid.
